00:00While it may sound like science fiction, artificial intelligence is already reshaping the workforce,
00:06and new research from Microsoft suggests millions of jobs could be vulnerable.
00:10By studying how people use AI chatbots to perform work tasks, researchers developed an AI
00:15applicability score, measuring how easily each profession could be supported or disrupted by
00:21the technology. Jobs involving communication, writing or information like translators,
00:27journalists and customer service roles were ranked highest. And while AI might make those
00:32workers more productive, it could also mean fewer of them are needed. Some jobs are much harder to
00:38automate, including ship engineers, surgeons and firefighters, where technical skill or physical
00:43presence remains key. Microsoft's findings suggest the jobs most at risk are not necessarily the most
00:49replaceable, but the most AI-enhancable. As AI adoption grows, experts say it's crucial to monitor
00:55how it's being used and who stands to benefit or lose out.
