Earlier this week during the annual ‘Ride the Lights’ event in Blackpool, officers were out and about making sure everyone was enjoying the evening safely. Whilst PC Nelson was chatting to the public, looking out for anything untoward, he couldn’t have imagined what was about to unfold. His attention was quickly brought to a lady who had fallen down to the sea after slipping off the sea defence walls just as the tide was starting to rapidly come in Knowing the danger she’d be in and thinking quickly, PC Nelson, along with his colleagues Sgt Higgs, PC Dixon and PC Walker, ran to her aid, throwing a life ring out and pulling her to safety; have a watch.
