01:34We shall wait for the resolution of the MR. Please let us allow and give chance to the Supreme Court to rectify its decision which contains clear and blatant errors for their sake and for the sake of future future proceedings.

01:56And in that light, considering the motion of the gentleman, the motion to dismiss, I move to table the motion to dismiss.
02:08A motion to table is a higher precedence than a motion to dismiss.

02:18How do we deal with depending motion? I refer to the motion to dismiss. Shall we even take it up or deal with it? Kasi wala po sa rules natin. Papano wala tayo pong guidelines? Kasi wala po sa rules natin yung motion to dismiss?
02:36We should exercise extraordinary prudence in this matter of transcendental importance. I agree and I continue to respect the Supreme Court. Hindi po magbabago iyan. But Mr. President, hindi naman po ibig sabihin ng respeto ay pananahimik.
02:56Sabi ni Sen. Marcoleta, unanimous ang desisyon ng Korte Suprema kaya tingin niya ay mahirap na raw itong magbago.

03:08Hindi lang po tulad nung sinabi ni Minority Leader na there's always a first time. It has happened before.
03:14In fact, the Supreme Court has reversed a unanimous desisyon in a lot of instances before.
03:22Tingin naman ng Sen. President Jesus Codero. Baka mas mainam na i-archive na lamang sa halip na i-dismiss.
03:27It is the position of the chair subject to the wisdom of the plenary, Your Honor, that given the Supreme Court decision that the Senate never acquired jurisdiction over it,
03:42that the proceedings and the articles of impeachment were null and void ab initio.
03:47Indeed, there might not even be anything to dismiss and the procedure would be more properly to archive similar to what we have done in the past
03:59so that these proceedings will still be made part of the Senate's records.

04:08Sa ganitong paraan, ay masusunod pa rin daw ang desisyon ng Supreme Court, pero magigit pa rin ng Senado ang kapangyarihan nito.
