00:00Tourists were soaking up the sun in Spain's Tarifa beach resort when disaster struck.

00:04A fierce wildfire suddenly erupted in the hills of Torre de la Peña, right behind the popular vacation spot.

00:11In just hours, flames spread rapidly driven by gusty winds up to 25 kilometers per h, forcing mass evacuations.

00:18Hotels, beach bars, and restaurants between La Peña and Casas de Poros were emptied out.

00:23Even the famous Wawa Hotel and local Chiringuidos had to shut down as ash blanketed the shore.

00:30Authorities say it all began in a motorhome at a nearby campsite before spiraling out of control.

00:35Now firefighting crews are in full force with helicopters, planes, and ground units battling the blaze.

00:41The nearby N-340 highway is partially closed, and the Estreco Natural Park lies dangerously close.

00:52In Portugal's Arruca region, 800 firefighters and seven aircraft are battling a giant blaze that's already devoured over 7,000 acres.
