Tourists Flee as Wildfire Rages Near Spanish Beach Resort

A terrifying wildfire has erupted near the popular beach resort of Tarifa in southern Spain, forcing tourists and locals to evacuate as flames raced across the hills of Torre de la Peña. The fire, sparked by a motorhome at a nearby campsite, spread quickly due to strong winds, threatening hotels, bars, and even the Estrecho Natural Park.

Firefighters are battling the inferno with helicopters, planes, and ground crews as parts of the N-340 highway remain shut. This dramatic blaze is part of a wave of wildfires sweeping across southern Europe—including Portugal and Greece—turning summer holiday spots into danger zones.
