00:00You're Jeffrey Epstein's only living relative.
00:03When did you hear of your brother's death first?
00:05Well, I heard it the morning that he was found dead.
00:08I was having breakfast at a hotel and the television was on.
00:13And Jeffrey's picture came on and they said that he was found dead from the parent's suicide.
00:19That's how I learned about it.
00:21Mid-breakfast.
00:23The government didn't notify me as they said they did.
00:26I learned about it on CNN.
00:28And you say apparent.
00:30You don't believe it was a suicide?
00:33No, I don't.
00:34Well, at the time I did, when they first said he was found dead from an apparent suicide,
00:38I had no reason to doubt it.
00:40You know, he was in jail.
00:42He was facing a potential long prison term.
00:46I knew he wouldn't want to do that.
00:49He didn't have any children to worry about.
00:51My parents were already gone.
00:53He didn't have to worry about me.
00:54So there was no reason to doubt it.
00:56But then the next day, they did the autopsy.
01:00I had to go back to New York.
01:02I identified his body and they did the autopsy.
01:04The autopsy was done by Dr. Roman, the city pathologist.
01:10And I had Dr. Barton there because I had the right to have my own pathologist witness the autopsy.
01:16And they came out of the room and I was expecting them to say that this was a suicide.
01:20But they came out of the autopsy saying that they couldn't call this a suicide because it looked too much like a homicide.
01:26And that's when things started to change pretty fast.
01:30What do you think happened to your brother?
01:34Well, he was killed in the cell.
01:37Exactly, you know, why.
01:39And also what had happened, they immediately or within days, they labeled it a suicide.
01:44Because by doing that, it stops any other investigation.
01:48This has never been investigated as a potential homicide.
01:52And that's where they made the mistake because it's obvious that they didn't do that.
01:59And Bill Barr, the attorney general at the time, made a statement.
02:04He said that he personally watched the videotape and he saw that nobody went in or out of the tier where Jeffrey Sell was.
02:11And that convinced him it was a suicide.
02:13Well, when I first heard that, I said this is a cover-up for two reasons.
02:17Number one, there were about a dozen other prisoners on the same tier as Jeffrey that would not have to go and come, you know, go into or out of the tier in order if they were going to kill somebody.
02:30So by completely eliminating the possibility he was killed by somebody already on the tier shows that he wasn't being straight.
02:38And also to think that somebody can get to that door, go in, kill somebody and leave completely undetected doesn't make a lot of sense either.
02:47So that's what I knew was a cover-up, you know.
02:49And by calling it a suicide, they don't investigate as a homicide.
02:54So that's why I knew it was a suicide.
03:12So that's why I remember a position.
03:13So that's why I heard that a suicide.
03:14So that's why I saw that a suicide.
