Pour Piper, être à nouveau libre n'est pas aussi simple qu'il y paraît. Elle doit se plier à de nouvelles contraintes et vivre loin d'Alex, qui doit encore purger quelques années à Litchfield. Au sein de la prison, Nicky, Suzanne, Taystee, Daya ou encore Red sont mêlées, parfois malgré elles, à des affrontements. Deux anciennes codétenues se retrouvent dans un centre de détention pour migrants où les conditions de vie sont effroyables. Touchante et engagée, cette dernière saison permet de dire adieu à ces personnages féminins forts.
