Clear initial conditions for most of the UK, especially in the east, but this will soon cease as cloud arrives from the northwest followed by rain, heavy at times, first affecting Northern Ireland and northwest Scotland, before moving into eastern Scotland, Wales and northwest England by the early hours of the night. Northern and central areas of England will also see showery bursts by the early morning. In addition winds will pick up again as this weather front makes its way through. Temperatures feeling mild however than last night. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the evening of 06/08/2025. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Clare Nasir.

00:00Hello there, welcome to your Wednesday evening weather update from the Met Office. Yet more
00:05wet weather moves in overnight and pushes southwards as it weakens. Let me take you through the
00:10bigger picture. High pressure hangs on across southern counties, however you can see this
00:15system coming in here. Winds pick up. Rain could be heavy in places particularly across
00:20more northern and western areas with showers to follow as we see more cloud just arrive
00:24towards the southeast through the latter part of the day. Then into Friday, cloud and rain
00:29and winds skirt more northern and western areas fine towards the south there and that's
00:33where we hang on to the brighter weather as we head through into the weekend. For the
00:37time being it's pleasant outside across much of England and Wales, central and eastern areas
00:41of Scotland but further west that cloud picking up as the rain slowly moves in and those winds
00:47are strengthened. Some heavy pulses likely into the night as it pushes towards eastern Scotland
00:52arrives across northern England, northern and western parts of Wales and some showery bursts
00:56extend towards Lincolnshire as well as east Yorkshire. Showers following from the west and temperatures
01:02holding up much milder night than last night. But it will be a windy one to start the day
01:07on Thursday. So strong blustery winds associated with this weather front. Showers continue through
01:12the day as this weather front stalls a little bit. It's trying to extend towards more southern
01:17and eastern areas and after a bright start you'll see more cloud through the afternoon. The rain becomes fairly
01:23sporadic and patchy so some dry interludes despite the fact there will be a lot of cloud through the
01:28afternoon anywhere from the Midlands down towards the west country south eastwards. Scattered showers
01:33of sunshine to follow and that wind continues towards the north as well as the west of Scotland. So not a bad
01:41afternoon for most of the country if you can escape those showers and they will become few and far between
01:46as we head through the afternoon and into evening time. Temperatures then 20 or 21 will be your high
01:52across northern Ireland and Scotland 21 to 24 across England and Wales. Here's that weather front it's
01:58mostly cloud through Thursday evening it will clear and then some drier skies although showers will persist
02:05across northern and western areas of Scotland and this weather front here will bring with it stronger winds
02:10and outbreaks of rain to central and northern areas of Scotland on Friday. Anywhere from the central
02:16southwards you should see some fine weather. A few showers clipping the far north and west of Northern Ireland
02:22brighter skies elsewhere mix of clouds and sunshine and a lighter breeze towards the south east where temperatures
02:28could reach around 23 to 25 degrees Celsius. Elsewhere we'll see the high teens feeling fresh in the wind
02:36across western and northern Scotland but in shelter for Northern Ireland and southeastern parts of Scotland
02:41coming in around 20 even 21 degrees Celsius. Now on Friday evening you can see where that warm front
02:48is bringing some milder air from the southwest and that rain continues Caithness, Northwest Highlands,
02:54the Outer Hebrides as well as Orkney eventually Shetland. Into Saturday morning some clearer skies to start the day
03:01anywhere from central and eastern areas of Northern Ireland as well as southern parts of Scotland
03:07much of England and Wales a bit of cloud floating along the sky and then as we head into the day as the sun rises
03:13it'll be a fine start sunny spells. The rain continues across more northern and western areas a strong wind here
03:21so a wet and windy day across these parts elsewhere sunny spells. It's going to be a pleasant day to be out and about
03:29still breezy across Irish sea coasts up towards northern England southern Scotland and Northern Ireland
03:34but a lighter breeze anywhere from Yorkshire down towards the middle part of Wales south east England
03:40and here are your temperatures through the afternoon 20 to 26 degrees Celsius fresher though across more
03:46northern and western areas for more details of the weekend and into next week check out our 10 day trend
03:53and this week it's with honour.
