August 6 marks Bolivia's 200th anniversary of independence. To commemorate this occasion, several events are taking place across the country. Bolivians have been celebrating the Bicentennial since the beginning of the month. On Tuesday, a band parade and a massive concert were held. On Wednesday, the events continued with the raising of the national flag in Sucre, the state capital. In honor of the celebration, strict security measures have been implemented in the city of Sucre. These are reinforced by more than 700 police officers from other departments and include roadblocks, security rings, and specialized surveillance at strategic locations.
