Jason Darcie est hospitalisé dans une unité psychiatrique suite à une tentative de suicide. Sa femme, Lara, se rend chez le frère de Jason, Grady : elle lui demande de l'aider à payer l'hospitalisation de Jason, mais aussi à comprendre le geste de son mari. Elle découvre ainsi que Jason et Grady avaient une soeur, morte noyée quand ils étaient jeunes. Mais d'avoir remué tous ces souvenirs fait basculer Grady...
