00:01Previously on Project Runway...
00:03Welcome aboard the Celebrity Summit.
00:05This is your first team challenge.
00:08Each team will be creating one look.
00:11The destination will serve as the inspiration for your look.
00:15Ashley, you will be working with... Candace.
00:18And Edmund will be working with Han Miao.
00:21So, Marlene and Joe, you're paired together.
00:24It's not to get real.
00:25Marlene's already starting to drive me crazy.
00:28We have three different groups battling it out.
00:31Can you give us a shout-out for one minute?
00:32Maybe... No.
00:34Where's my model and where's Han Miao?
00:36What the hell is going on in this room?
00:44You guys rocked it.
00:45We meshed well.
00:46You're both winners of this challenge.
00:49It is so matronly, madame. Not good.
00:53There's just too much going on.
00:54And then it doesn't fit right. This is hideous.
00:57You are so lucky. You have immunity.
00:59We spend a lot of time arguing.
01:01More time than we put in the garment, as you can see.
01:04Yeah.
01:05Han Miao, I'm sorry you're out.
01:16Are you guys excited for today?
01:18I just let yesterday go.
01:20I'm very happy that yesterday is over.
01:23I mean, how do you feel about Han Miao going home?
01:25Of course, I, you know, felt a little bad given the situation.
01:28You are so fortunate to have had immunity because I had a feeling that if you didn't, you probably both would have gone home.
01:35Probably so.
01:36Honestly, I still stand behind what we did, Gabby.
01:38I mean, I loved it.
01:39Me too.
01:40I would wear it.
01:41Watching you walk down the runway, I felt pretty good.
01:43Second time in three weeks to be at the bottom sucks.
01:48I really don't understand what the judges want.
01:51So I'm feeling really crappy.
01:53Let's get out of ladies.
01:55Let's go.
01:56Let's go make this happen.
02:03We see Tim and Louise on the dock.
02:05Behind us, I see buildings.
02:07A boat could pull up at any minute.
02:09There's always a twist or a turn.
02:12Good morning, designers.
02:13Good morning.
02:14You all know Mary Kay global makeup artist, Louise Casco.
02:18Hello, designers.
02:19This is the Mary Kay challenge.
02:21Yay!
02:22I grew up with Mary Kay.
02:24Everybody had Mary Kay parties.
02:26The people who sold a lot had a pink car.
02:29So I am really excited that this is a Mary Kay challenge.
02:32We brought you here because from this vantage point, you have a spectacular and inspiring view of the city.
02:38Just as New York has its iconic architecture, fashion has its iconic designs.
02:43Think about the pencil skirt, the wrap dress, the trench coat, just to name a few.
02:49So for this challenge, we'd like you to take one of these iconic fashion designs and bring your own interpretation to it.
02:55Mary Kay's new city modern makeup collection is both modern and metropolitan.
03:00It was inspired by city landscapes and the sleek architecture of timeless buildings, which is why we brought you here.
03:07So you will have a Mary Kay makeup consultation with me to give your look the modern beauty that will bring it to life.
03:14How wonderful.
03:15Yes.
03:16The winner of today's challenge will appear with their winning design in an exclusive Mary Kay ad in Mary Claire magazine.
03:23My dresses are so editorial that I feel like it'll fit right in there.
03:26Oh, there's Blake's dress in the Mary Claire magazine.
03:29And receive a cash prize of $5,000, courtesy of Mary Kay.
03:36Designers, you will have 30 minutes to sketch your design ideas.
03:40Then we are making our first trip to Mood.
03:43Yay!
03:45Head off and sketch.
03:47For the Mary Kay challenge, we're creating a modern look based on a classic.
03:56I am making a black and white wrap dress.
03:59Something that's basic with a twist, so that way I can't get called out on having a million things going on again.
04:08I'm making a very classic princess-themed cocktail dress.
04:13Black and white, which is my thing.
04:15Leather, which is my thing.
04:17Modern, classic silhouettes.
04:19Chic, sexy, fierce, strong.
04:22I am extremely excited.
04:26I'm trying to do something a little architectural.
04:28I am designing a tent coat with a ruffle sleeve and a turtleneck dress in white with a little bit of pink popping out.
04:36I'm also keeping my dress rather simple so that I have enough time for everything.
04:41It's the best strategy for me.
04:43Designers, time is up.
04:46We're headed to Mood.
04:48Mood, finally.
04:50I have been waiting for this moment for a really long time.
04:53That sounded like a musical.
04:57Alright designers, it's our first trip to Mood, which is very exciting.
05:00You have your $250 budget and you have 45 minutes to shop.
05:05So, shop away.
05:06It feels really good to go to Mood.
05:11Just being able to pick our own fabrics is like a godsend.
05:13I want something.
05:14I want a contrast.
05:16I am inspired by that classic nude, your look.
05:19I know what luxury fabric is.
05:21Once you have good fabrics to work with, then everything just like, just glides.
05:25Let's just do three yards of this.
05:27Two yards of this.
05:28Do we have something like faux that's something close to it maybe?
05:31They don't have the leather that I want, but I find something even better.
05:36Vegan leather.
05:37Designers, time is up.
05:42Let's head back to the work room.
05:43Thank you, Mood.
05:46Bye, swatch.
05:53Alright designers, you have one day for this challenge.
05:56You have until 1am tonight.
05:59But, there are a lot of things happening.
06:02You're going to have a session with me, your Mary Kay makeup consultation with Luis.
06:07Yes.
06:08And, you're going to have a model fitting.
06:09Alright, I will check back with you later.
06:11Take care.
06:12Bye.
06:17No bicep, you.
06:19No biceps.
06:20She's making fun of me.
06:22Please can I use you as a model?
06:23You have no biceps.
06:25This is really exciting.
06:26It's a Mary Kay challenge to take inspiration from New York, city skates, and to take a classic
06:33silhouette and put a modern spin on it.
06:35I can't wait for the runway.
06:38My design just does not feel right to me.
06:40So, I'm just waiting around to see what Tim has to say, and it kind of feels like a waste
06:44of time at this point.
06:45Like, I'm sitting here looking at this garment and thinking, I need to change something, but
06:49I cannot pinpoint what it is.
06:51I'm here to check in with you and to see what you're doing.
06:58How are you, Candace?
06:59Hi.
07:00How are you?
07:01Extremely eager to know what you're doing.
07:02I'm intrigued by this.
07:03What are you doing?
07:04It's a jacket, pleated in the front and belted here.
07:07So, it plays with the woman's silhouette.
07:09It gives it a bit of a drama effect.
07:12I'm in love with it.
07:14I think it's so chic and modern and just strong and edgy and feminine all in one.
07:19Carry on.
07:20Thanks, Tim.
07:22Yes.
07:23Lindsay, what are you contemplating?
07:25I don't know.
07:26Everything.
07:27Okay.
07:28I'm going to do kind of a riff on a pencil skirt and a shift dress at the same time.
07:32And then I'm doing almost a full-length blazer.
07:35Oh, interesting.
07:36I used to live in New York and thought about, like, if I went on a date with New York and
07:40I hadn't seen New York in three years, what would I want to wear?
07:43Oh, that's a wonderful way to think of it.
07:45I feel like I could possibly win this challenge.
07:48I am concerned about the coat, but I think it's going to come together really well.
07:54Hi, Gabrielle.
07:55How are you?
07:56A little lost.
07:58I'm so relieved to see what Tim has to say and see if I'm going in the right direction,
08:02but I'm not making any, like, fatal mistakes.
08:05You know, last time I got critiqued for having too many details, and I'm just trying not to
08:09make the same mistakes again, you know?
08:11I'm hesitant.
08:12You're hesitant about what?
08:13About the length?
08:14Just getting the proportion right.
08:15Well, when your model's here, you'll know.
08:17And you have enough here to put something on her.
08:19Yeah, definitely.
08:20I think that Gabby's creating this worried, anxiety situation, and it's affecting her work.
08:27It's like, you feel like your work's going to be .
08:30I find this to be the star player.
08:32Yeah.
08:33I'm questioning whether or not I actually want to make it a sleeve, or if I just want
08:36to leave it open like that.
08:37I'm completely intrigued.
08:38Tim actually has positive things to say about the coat.
08:41He likes the direction I'm going in, which is a relief, but I have a long way to go.
08:47I'm working on the little black dress.
08:49Okay.
08:50So there's all this ruffle, and there's going to be pockets.
08:53And then, of course, the back is like a bare back.
08:57And there was a texture that I wanted to add here, and I'm tied up whether I should do
09:02the straps in this, or just stick with all black.
09:07I don't think you need to introduce any gimmicks, and this is going to cheapen it.
09:11It takes it from breakfast at Tiffany's to breakfast in Las Vegas.
09:16I get you.
09:17I get you.
09:18Hi, Tim.
09:20Amanda.
09:21Yeah.
09:22What's the matter?
09:23I'm feeling a little discouraged.
09:25Why?
09:26I'm usually the most positive, optimistic, confident person.
09:29That's how I know you.
09:30I'm just not, I'm not feeling mean.
09:32Why?
09:33It's hard being in the bottom two times in a row.
09:36It gets in your head.
09:37It's just been, it's not my day.
09:40Okay.
09:41Put that behind you.
09:42Okay.
09:43And focus here.
09:44Okay.
09:45So, what is the iconic design that you're using as a point of departure?
09:49Well, my first idea was like a wrap dress.
09:52But am I going to get scolded for doing like a little wrap dress?
09:57You need to bring your interpretation to it.
10:00Reimagine the engineering of the wrap.
10:03Wrap.
10:04Wrap, wrap, wrap.
10:05Okay.
10:06I appreciate you so much, Tim.
10:07You're going to be fine.
10:08Honestly.
10:09I appreciate you.
10:10After my critique, I'm feeling rejuvenated.
10:12And I feel like, okay, you know what?
10:15I've got this.
10:16So, I'm just ready to get moving.
10:18On one hand, I'm thinking my inspiration for this music wise, because that's what I'm
10:22inspired a lot by is like Whitney Houston's I'm Your Baby Tonight, a zip up jumpsuit.
10:26Okay.
10:27And this one, I'm going in the direction of like a young Annie Lennox.
10:31Personally, I'm much more intrigued by this.
10:34This steps up and out in a way that really distinguishes you.
10:37I agree.
10:38I agree.
10:39Kelly, I've gotten to a point where, and this is a compliment, I'd know this was you.
10:44I wanted to take a basic white t-shirt and give it like a modern industrial New York feel.
10:50And I wanted to do something fun, because I like fun.
10:53I think you have a really interesting, compelling look here.
10:56Here, I'm taking the basketball jersey and updating it more to a dress.
11:03Nina could very likely say to you, Jeffrey Bean did this in the 1980s.
11:08I'm not necessarily selling to the client who bought that in the 80s.
11:11Perfect answer.
11:12I found this really, really cool fabric.
11:15It was in the scuba section.
11:17Who has a scuba section?
11:18Who knew?
11:19I'm playing up the pencil skirt and then the peplum.
11:22But I'm making it modern with the textiles that are used.
11:25I'd also drop that back as far as you can.
11:28Yeah.
11:29The style that Joseph decided to do is very matronly.
11:32And all I see is him continuing to do the same style over and over again.
11:37How would you describe this iconic design?
11:39Like, you know, Dior's new look with the accentuating the waist.
11:43But I still want to keep it neat.
11:45Well, it has to be you.
11:46It's your interpretation.
11:47Yeah, yeah, yeah.
11:48But I'm keeping the front kind of modern, like having the pencil skirt come a little bit in the front.
11:54So it's kind of like, um, so it's kind of like two, it's hard to describe.
11:59But I want to start it up here.
12:01It'll come in front of it.
12:03What do you mean, this will come in front of it?
12:05So this will be the whole front.
12:06Yeah.
12:07And then this is coming in the back.
12:08Oh, so it's not a separate piece.
12:09No, it's all together, but it'll, it'll...
12:13It's not often that I'm presented with a design which baffles me.
12:18Yeah, okay.
12:19And I personally feel baffled by how you're actually going to execute this.
12:23Blake is in trouble.
12:24I mean, Blake doesn't make any sense.
12:26I feel bad for him.
12:28Even Tim is like, huh?
12:30I want all of you to know how energized and excited I am about what you're doing.
12:45Keep up this great trajectory.
12:47I want those judges to not know what to do.
12:50Your models will be in soon for a fitting.
12:53And don't forget that later today, you'll have your Mary Kay makeup consultation with Luis.
12:57Thank you so much.
12:58Thank you, Tim.
12:59I'll see you in the morning.
13:08Hi.
13:09Hello.
13:10How are you doing?
13:11I'm Lori.
13:12Nice to meet you as well.
13:13I have a new model.
13:15Her name is Veronica.
13:16She's just like, okay, okay, so what's it going to be?
13:19And how are you going to do this?
13:20Are you okay that it's like opening when I'm walking?
13:23Yeah, that's fine.
13:24I'm like, girl, just wear these clothes and let's go.
13:27It's perfect.
13:29The challenge is tied in with Mary Kay.
13:31Whoever wins gets $5,000.
13:34So hopefully we'll crush it tomorrow.
13:38Maybe add a little bit because it's, I have seam allowance on here.
13:41So it's basically, it's going to be a lot of side booth.
13:44I wonder how the judges feel about side booth.
13:47So they're going to love it.
13:49Tim was a little confused on how I was going to execute this dress.
13:52I mean, I just need to figure out what goes where.
13:55Because I need to have my base done and then build around it.
13:58All right.
13:59Let me make you set it and make the dress.
14:02And then we'll see.
14:03Okay.
14:04Okay.
14:09Hello.
14:10Good morning.
14:11How are you?
14:12The inspiration came from breakfast at Tiffany's.
14:14When we think of Audrey Hepburn, we think about those amazing cheekbones.
14:18I want the look to be very fresh, to be very young.
14:21Just remember, she's a city woman.
14:23Did you have something in mind already?
14:25I'm in charge of here down.
14:28You're in charge of here up.
14:30This is where you're the expert.
14:31I think we should go for a very chic neutral palette.
14:35I like where this is heading so much.
14:37Why would I change for us now?
14:39I like that Grace Kelly, like that new classic look.
14:41Yeah.
14:42The fifties was all about eyeliner, but why not do it in a color?
14:46Yeah.
14:47And then we can do a really classic lip.
14:50This is from the New City Modern Collection called Naturally Chic.
14:54Awesome.
14:55So I brought you some swatches so you can see my inspiration.
14:57You know, so we need a Papa Pink.
14:58Are you bringing a little pink in there?
14:59We're doing a Papa Pink French.
15:00Oh, that's so cool.
15:01Yeah.
15:02This right here is a cheek and lip product that you can actually dab it on.
15:07Right.
15:08And make it as light or as strong as you want.
15:11I liked it before.
15:12I love it now.
15:13Yep.
15:14Cool.
15:15Look at her eyes, right?
15:16We'll take the Metro Modern palette right here and just do a really modern smoky eye.
15:23There's something architectural about the shape on the eye.
15:27That's exactly what I'm going for.
15:29She's a cool city lady.
15:30I love that like neutral.
15:32You know those girls, they go to sleep and the next day they look like they got makeup.
15:36So unfair.
15:37You know what I mean?
15:38But that's the look I want.
15:39So we're going to give it a matte finish.
15:41And is that your little jumping when you're like-
15:43I know.
15:44This is my little dance when I'm like-
15:45Is she always jumping like that?
15:46No, that's not that.
15:47Okay.
15:48Okay.
15:49My iconic look is a basic white t-shirt.
15:51Is she going to have some hoops on?
15:53I don't know.
15:54Hopefully.
15:55I want to do like something very like street.
15:57A nice plump red lip and some cat eyes.
15:59Something really fierce.
16:00You make that lipstick look good.
16:01It does.
16:02Done.
16:03Done and done.
16:04Let's do it.
16:05Bye.
16:13Okay.
16:14What you're doing is really awesome Kelly.
16:15It's really awesome until the leather just won't stop stretching and now it's looking
16:19like and I just had to take it all out and I'm redoing it again.
16:23The lightweight leather that I am using is the biggest pain in the ass material I have
16:27ever worked with in my whole entire life.
16:29It is just like bunching up and puckering and distressing me out because this execution
16:34needs to be perfect or it's going to look like a child project.
16:36This was supposed to be the simple dress that only took the hell.
16:40And now it's turning into the dress from hell.
16:44Just don't think about the flaws.
16:46Yeah.
16:47There's just no time to think about it.
16:50Just finish it.
16:51I'm wishing that I had just like ditched this white dress seven hours ago when I started
16:56it.
16:57I hate this dress.
16:59So what's remaining now?
17:00It will be just the front and then it cuts to the back like that.
17:04Why did you cover the blue?
17:05The blue was the best part.
17:07It's the end of the day and Blake is still hand stitching his dress together.
17:11I'm a little concerned that he won't have enough time tomorrow morning to do the last
17:15fitting with the model that it's not going to lay proper.
17:18I think I'm going to have to sleep on this one.
17:20Exactly.
17:21Just sleep it out and finish it tomorrow.
17:23You're not going to finish this in 10 minutes anyways, right?
17:25I think Blake's look looks like it could be beautiful, but I feel like Blake has not sewn
17:31or done anything.
17:32All right, guys, time to go home.
17:35He's going to be sending his model down the runway with no clothes on.
17:49Oh man, I'm nervous about doing this.
17:51I have a lot to do this morning.
17:52So I just need to get in and get to use a serger and get my stuff sewn.
17:56Yay.
17:57We have a white serger thread.
18:06Good heavens.
18:07What a quiet room.
18:08Hi, Tim.
18:09All right, designers, your models are coming in very soon.
18:13You will have two hours to send them to the Mary Kay Color Design Studio and the Sally Beauty Studio.
18:19Use the Just Fab accessories wall very carefully, please.
18:24All right?
18:25Yes.
18:26I'm sending in your models.
18:29I'll see you a little later.
18:30Bye.
18:31Bye.
18:32Bye.
18:33Hi.
18:34Yeah.
18:35It's just like that last final go, you know?
18:38And then let's do the top.
18:40Oh, that's loose.
18:41My dress is pretty much ready.
18:42She's looking elegant.
18:43She's looking sophisticated.
18:44The hands in the pocket at all time.
18:45I love it.
18:46I so love that.
18:47It's nice.
18:48I love Swapnil's piece.
18:49It's really beautiful.
18:50Swapnil, Ashley and Edmund are probably the biggest competition anyone here could have.
18:55Okay.
18:56Come.
18:57You're good.
18:58Welcome back to the Sally Beauty Studio.
19:00Okay.
19:01So I was thinking away from the face and the rest is kind of bone straight.
19:04What if we bring it back and then we'll just iron this pin straight?
19:06Yes.
19:07Beautiful.
19:08Yes.
19:09Yes.
19:10Yes.
19:11Yes.
19:12I want to see some like flat iron pieces at the bottom.
19:13So it's just really cool.
19:14That sounds perfect.
19:15We'll make it beautiful.
19:16Thank you so much.
19:17Why don't we do like a really cool textured braid just so it looks a little more editorial
19:33braid versus like she did this herself.
19:36We'll create this beautiful magic for you.
19:38She was our city girl, right?
19:43Yes.
19:44Like I started with this little purples and then we added a little bit of black.
19:47Yeah.
19:48For kind of a smoky eye.
19:49Correct.
19:50So we're still going with our firecracker lady?
19:53Yes.
19:54We're going to do that soft smoky eye with the silver.
19:57Oh, I love it.
20:01What I was thinking for you is that we would do a base of black with a little bit of the blue on top.
20:07Perfect.
20:08Perfect.
20:09Designers, in ten minutes you and your models and I are going down to the runway.
20:13All right.
20:14Excuse me.
20:15Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.
20:16Can I get the medic?
20:17Can I get a band-aid?
20:18Ugh.
20:19We were doing last minute touches and then I got a blood stain on the front of my dress.
20:24I'm like, ugh.
20:25There's too much happening.
20:26I should have to stick away from your dress.
20:27I just need to cover up the neckline.
20:28Designers and models, we are going down to the runway.
20:29All right, everyone?
20:30Off we go.
20:31Come on, darling.
20:32You did it.
20:33Something's happening.
20:34I want to hear how you did it.
20:35Please stop moving.
20:36I like my coat, so I'm not feeling like it's the worst design out there.
20:37In the end, this is a design competition and I think that my design at least has promise.
20:41Merlene.
20:42I'm coming.
20:43Off we go.
20:44I'm coming.
20:45Off we go.
20:47That's it.
20:48I'm coming.
20:49Off we go.
20:50I'm coming.
20:51Off we go.
20:52Off we go.
20:53Come on, darling.
20:54You did it.
20:55Something's happening.
20:56I want to hear how you did it.
20:57Please stop moving.
20:58I like my coat, so I'm not feeling like it's the worst design out there.
21:00In the end, this is a design competition and I think that my design at least has promise.
21:01Merlene.
21:02I'm coming.
21:03Off we go.
21:04Thank you, dude.
21:05That's it.
21:12Hello, everybody.
21:13Hello.
21:14Hey.
21:15Welcome to the runway.
21:16As you know in fashion, one day you're in and the next day you're out.
21:20There are 13 of you here and after tonight there will be 12.
21:24Did you all enjoy working alone again?
21:27Yes.
21:28For this challenge, you were inspired by the beautiful skyline of New York City.
21:34You were to take iconic designs from the world of fashion and put your own modern spin on them.
21:39The winner of today's challenge will appear with their winning design in an exclusive Mary Kay spread in Mary-Claire Magazine
21:45and receive a cash prize of $5,000 from Mary Kay.
21:49All right.
21:50Let's say hello to our judges.
21:51First, we have creative director of Brooks Brothers Women and fashion designer, Zach Posen.
21:57Hello, designers.
21:58Hello.
21:59Creative director for Mary-Claire Magazine, Nina Garcia.
22:02Welcome back, designers.
22:04And today's guest judge, the very fashionable actress from the hit series Mad Men, Kiernan Shipka.
22:09Welcome.
22:10Hello.
22:12Good to be here.
22:13Also, we have Tim Gunn here for the runway show.
22:15And as you know, he is your mentor and will not be judging your looks.
22:18That said, he will have the Tim Gunn save.
22:21If at some point during the competition he disagrees with the judges, then he can use his save to bring that designer back.
22:28We also have an anonymous runway show, which means we, the judges, do not know which designer created which look.
22:34All right.
22:35Let's start the show.
22:44I feel like my design definitely stands out.
22:49My construction could be a little bit better, but I just hope the judges like it.
22:55They are either going to love it or hate it.
23:04I like putting materials together that you normally wouldn't see together.
23:08She's got these like mod crazy white black heels and like a wicked high bun and a crazy graphic t-shirt.
23:16I think it looks freaking awesome.
23:25I think the garment looks absolutely stunning.
23:28I think that the top and the skirt fit her wonderfully.
23:31One concern that I do have is that you're not really able to see the detailing from all the top stitching I've done.
23:36The top stitch is huge.
23:39I really do hope the judges are able to see it from where they're sitting.
23:42I like my look.
23:49She looks pretty and she looks comfortable.
23:51Did you just buy that jacket?
23:53We did not buy the jacket.
23:54He made the jacket.
23:55I think the orange is a little more potent than I was aware of.
23:59You don't really know how things are going to look.
24:01I feel like this is a Mary Kate girl look.
24:13I am proud of this look and I do think that I have the potential of being on the top three.
24:18I was staying true to the challenge by creating something that you would see walking through the city.
24:32Something that's inspired by architecture and thinking about the Mary Kay woman.
24:37I think I nailed it.
24:39She goes to the office like that.
24:41She's her own boss.
24:43I don't think this is a look for everyone.
24:51This is a look for a very specific person.
24:54And I think the judges might get that.
24:58It's a dangerous look.
25:00But some women like to play dangerously.
25:10Standing back and looking at my model Hannah in my dress.
25:12I'm actually feeling pretty good.
25:16It looks like something a girl living in New York City would actually wear.
25:25My favorite part of this piece is the element of surprise.
25:28It's got a pretty high neckline on the front.
25:30And then when you turn around and there's pretty much no fabric.
25:33I like drama in all my clothes.
25:35I like to tingle the senses.
25:37And this one did exactly that.
25:39Watching my look come down a runway is so awesome.
25:49I like it in every angle.
25:51She looks powerful.
25:52I love it.
25:54I just think this skirt could fit better.
26:02I do feel like this garment represents me.
26:04The coat.
26:05The style of it.
26:07But I'm a little uneasy about the white dress.
26:10I'm just not happy with the dress.
26:11I look at my look and I think Mary Kay.
26:28She looks fierce.
26:29I definitely think that I'm going to win.
26:32I'm absolutely loving it.
26:44She comes out and I'm like wow.
26:46She looks really good.
26:48It looks unique.
26:50It represents me.
26:51I feel strong about it.
27:01If I call your name, please step forward.
27:03Merlene, please step forward.
27:05Ashley, please step forward.
27:08Joseph.
27:09Edmund.
27:10Laurie.
27:11Kelly.
27:12Jake.
27:13If I've called your name, congratulations.
27:14Your scores have qualified you to move on to the next round.
27:15You can leave the runway.
27:17The six of you have the highest and the lowest scores.
27:19One of you will be named the winner.
27:20And one of you will be named the winner.
27:21One of you will be named the winner.
27:22And one of you will be out.
27:33The six of you have the highest and the lowest scores.
27:38One of you will be named the winner.
27:39One of you will be out.
27:42The six of you have the highest and the lowest scores.
27:48and the lowest scores one of you will be named the winner and take home a cash
27:53prize of $5,000 and one of you will be out
27:58Blake hi so what are you today a high or a low I don't know I feel maybe on the
28:04bottom you are a high oh wow okay good I love playing that game with you I don't
28:13make it tell us about your luck I got really inspired by the 1950s I loved the
28:19new classic look when it was accentuating the hips you know with the full skirt and
28:24everything and yeah I think it's really interesting that you mentioned the new
28:30look because this is a totally really fun interpretive take on that and I really
28:36really liked it thank you I like the drama of the dress there's something old
28:41but something new Blake I think you did an excellent job thank you it
28:45definitely had great runway effect I love the play on the colors is the necklace
28:50hiding anything I just got a glimpse and you know I have an eagle eye at the at
28:56the last minute I sliced my finger and I got a little blood on the front oh so I
29:00just decided to cut it so you wouldn't see listen I think that kind of impromptu
29:05quick dressmaking can result in really great pieces and today it really worked
29:10you should be really proud Blake I like that you created a new shape a new
29:15silhouette that we haven't seen before and that's important for Project Runway we
29:19want to see new things thank you guys swap nail tell us about your look when I
29:24saw the skyline of course New York the first thing that came to my mind was
29:27breakfast at Tiffany's so I wanted to take the classic little black dress and make
29:32it modern make it sexy I really really like this look there's something that's
29:36really useful about it that I'm really drawn to it's playful and it's fun and
29:40it's the right amount of being simple and streamlined but also having a lot of
29:45interests I would wear it thank you well I think this is a party girl dress and
29:50you know the best party girls in the world live in New York and it was
29:53original thank you I like the fact that there's so much fabric but when she
29:59turns around she's bare now it was a nice surprise she turned around I was
30:03like whoa this is sexy from the back really nice the way you cut the super
30:09low Lindsay tell us about your look so I decided to create something that was
30:14really approachable I definitely wanted to make a jacket and then I also did like
30:17a pencil skirt but initially the idea was to like split up just like the
30:21classic like shift to dress really on the positive note you made a lot of pieces in
30:27one day yes but I'm not loving this look I have to tell you here you have your
30:33model swallowed by all of this stuff and then the material for the two-piece it
30:39looks so thick you can really see that I'm not loving it I'm not going to even
30:45try to understand who scrolls Gabrielle tell us about your look so my
30:50original inspiration was the 1950s a tent coat and a sheath dress where my
30:54original inspirations and I took from the skyline the kind of architecture and
30:59then I added a pop of pink in the dress to kind of reference Mary Kay say a pop
31:03of pink yeah smidgen yeah smidgen of pink the first thing that jumped out at me was
31:13the hem you know I thought somebody chewed it up was did something go wrong I've
31:18dropped my scissors like six times and they just don't cut anymore also why did
31:21she never take the coat off so we can see I don't really like the dress can we
31:24have a look at it now sure it's rough I know I had now I know I never forget the
31:32technical problems with this dress there is a serious problem with a proportion the
31:38jacket hits very low the skirt it's an awkward length the jacket has no shape so
31:45it's almost swallowing the model she's got the wrong hairdo she's got the wrong makeup she looks
31:52very monthly this is my best work but I do like the silhouette I think the jacket is actually really
31:58fun and there's something really fun about the sleeves and it's interesting and exciting I just
32:05think that the pieces together don't make the impact that they could have if they were done a bit
32:10differently with different items okay thanks Thank You Gabrielle thanks Amanda tell us about your look
32:17so I really wanted to play on the wrap dress with two different types of fabric so it's not just one
32:23and make it comfortable soft but had a little bit of architectural lines and stiffness because it's new
32:31arcs you have to have a little bit of toughness not your finest moment looks unbalanced I didn't even really
32:39get this wrap dress I thought sort of like half a 50s toga and I just don't see any originality it's
32:45sort of like Miss Muffet meh it is looking like a maternity dress yeah I wrote maternity yes that's
32:51awful bring on the crazy and leave the mall clothes in the mall what I would have loved to see is the
33:00waistline dropped maybe one inch okay I think that would have made it kind of a little more complete
33:06sure but overall it's got a very nice vibe to it thank you I appreciate it I don't see the New York
33:12skyline here at all I think the styling is awful then at one point I thought you were maybe dressing
33:18the Statue of Liberty with this one toga thing I didn't understand what came out of here okay thank
33:24you Amanda thank you Candace tell us about your look well for the Mary Kay challenge I wanted to play with
33:30the basic princess seam dress so I wanted to play with the lines and kind of accentuate the woman's
33:37silhouette well as you guys know this is an anonymous runway show but with your look I knew immediately
33:43that it was you because you told us that you love working with leather so when I saw this look come out
33:49I knew this was you Candace I as well knew immediately that this was yours and that's a great thing that means
33:55your signature is coming out and that you have a look I really like this look I think that the dress
34:01is really so sculptural and there's something about the shine of the leather that really feels like a very
34:09New York skyline for me Canon what do you think I love this it's the right amount of fierce and chic but
34:18still remains super classic just like New York thank you Candace thank you guys okay we've heard what
34:25you had to say we're going to take a closer look at your designs and then I'm going to bring you back
34:30out you can leave the runway thank you the winner of project runway will receive $100,000 to launch their
34:42line a celebrity cruises modern luxury vacation for two to almost anywhere in the world a year

35:07worth of beauty products for their fashion shows and professional makeup artist services for their
35:11debut show a complete sewing and crafting studio from brothers sewing and embroidery and the winning
35:17designer and model will receive a fashion spread and Mary Claire magazine hello Heidi's hello up close and
35:25personal everything changes would you like to start with the looks that are on the top yes all right
35:32Ashley is wearing Candace so much work went into the loss you know these seams that she has on the side
35:39gives the illusion that she has curve yeah I like it the back is also I was just noticing so nice too I like
35:46the different lengths as well an amazing in one day amazing he money is wearing swap no it's not too sexy in
35:57in the back but it's like the perfect spot a nice balance yeah holds high neck at the end of the day and
36:02obviously short but it's still very tough and sexy and it has ruffles on it and the thickness of the strap is also really nice I think especially with the rest of it being very feminine
36:13we have Ove wearing Blake I really like it it definitely gives this really nice movement that
36:23I think is New York sort of fun I also love the way he decided to do her hair and makeup like she looks
36:31young listen it's not well made but at least it's here it's here and there's an idea there I would give
36:39him the pass on the detail of not being perfectly made but it was perfectly innovative
36:45Dominica wearing Lindsay I was surprised what Lindsay created this week well can I tell you what
36:54surprise me this was all about the look underneath the coat and then she hit it it's just a little
37:00snoozy it looks like a couch material from far away you know I like the idea of a long jersey skirt it's
37:09just not enough so we have Victoria wearing Gabrielle the proportion here is all terrible I mean look at
37:18this close-up oh I know it looks like I stitched it together the underdress truly is one of the worst
37:24made pieces I've ever seen on this show we're truly now we have Hannah wearing Amanda this also I
37:34don't know I'm so confused how is this New York I don't get it the look as a theory is really really
37:41fun but I just think that if there is more time and execution okay so we've made our decision let's bring
37:52them back out designers you have the highest and the lowest scores one of you will be named the winner
38:05and taking home $5,000 and one of you will be out Blake congratulations you are the winner of this
38:20challenge okay thank you guys that feels awesome we love that you experimented with this dress we
38:28really feel that you turn the corner and wowed us today you're also going to get $5,000 oh yeah
38:34that's good excited yeah I'm really excited you also have immunity for the next challenge and cannot be
38:42eliminated nice you all in you can leave the runway thank you I'm so elated that I won this challenge
38:48like this is the one that I wanted to win I'm so happy that I won it's like huh I can't wait to be in
38:53Mary Claire magazine who won you want I knew it I knew it Mary Kay is such a good makeup brand and to
39:09be in one of their ad editorials it was like it's so exciting for me Lindsay you're in you can leave
39:16the runway thank you Gabrielle Amanda one of you will be out Gabrielle your white dress was a disaster
39:33there was some potential in your coat there was some potential in your coat but the proportions
39:37were all off Amanda your maternity dress did not say in New York at all nor was it fresh or modern
39:46Gabrielle Amanda one of you will be out Gabrielle
39:54I'm sorry you're out Amanda that means you're in thank you you can leave the runway thank you
40:07I'm disappointed and embarrassed to be going home this early

40:39out of the car you're so talented oh we're gonna miss you so much Gabby we're not gonna let her go
40:47well I don't want to let her go either I'm really a nerd by this Gabrielle what happened the execution
40:53of that was your downfall what happened to you I just didn't listen to myself I just never wrote this
41:00scenario it's just disappointing you know to go out on something that I wish I could make better well I
41:07have to send you to the workroom to clean up your space I'm sorry to say well we know how talented

41:31next time on project runway Heidi has a paintball gun in her hand it's time to get serious around here
41:43very serious we should divide you up into teams this is gonna hurt I love what's going on over here this
41:54is an Easter egg festival they're so fake like I'm so done with them we are that's so clever it was fun
42:03this collection really looked like amateur hour this just seems like a bit of a bitch fest
42:24you
