At a press briefing on Friday, Florida AG James Uthmeier touted efforts to deport illegal immigrants.

00:00General. Hey everyone, Attorney General James Uthmeyer here. I want to thank the

00:11governor for his leadership. Florida is the best state in the country to raise

00:16a family and that only happens when public safety is a number one priority

00:20and that starts at the top. I also want to thank President Trump for securing

00:25the border and enforcing the law. We almost lost the country. The left, through

00:31the open border policies, they wanted to let everybody in, count them in the

00:35census, giving massive electoral power to blue states, try to give people the

00:40right to vote where they can. They wanted to change the makeup of our country as we

00:46know it. And thank God they weren't able to get away with it. So I commend FHP, I

00:51commend our state law enforcement on their efforts to crack down. We've

00:56made thousands of arrests. We're going to continue to lead the way and I'll be

01:00right there to have their back. The perils of the open border we continue to see in

01:06gut-wrenching fashion every day. Just two days ago, my statewide prosecutors were

01:12part of a sting in Central Florida that led to the takedown of 48 child

01:17predators all that were on their way to abuse minors. Seven of those individuals

01:25were illegals. They'll be under ice detainers. They'll be sent back where

01:30they came from after they serve their time. Just yesterday in Palm Beach County

01:35two criminal illegal aliens brutally sexually assaulted a seven year old girl.

01:41This is what we're dealing with every single day. These are the very real

01:47perils of the open border policies. So while the Democrat officials want to sit

01:54there outside Alligator Alcatraz and cry because people have to brush their teeth

01:58in the same room as a toilet which is a bathroom, people, real American families

02:04are suffering every single day. And if you're an undocumented person who's not one

02:10of those malicious people, you have the opportunity to self-deport where you can

02:14come back in legally through the right channels. But if you don't want to take

02:19advantage of that, we're going to detain, we're going to deport, and we're going to

02:25deliver for the American people.
