00:00Open the invisible river.
00:02I'll take us back to the dimension where we're both dead.
00:06You wouldn't.
00:07Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:09And today, we're counting down our picks for the television programs that ended on the biggest unresolved plot twists.
00:15Excuse me, are you boarding this flight?
00:17Sorry, we're just in the middle of something.
00:20Number 10, The Wheel of Time.
00:22For the land is one with the dragon reborn.
00:27And he is one with the land.
00:30At this point, it's kind of a cliche to say the book is always better.
00:33But trust us, the books are better.
00:36If only because they actually have an ending.
00:38Amazon Prime Video spared no expense bringing The Wheel of Time to life.
00:42And in a cruel twist of fate, that became its undoing.
00:45I brought gifts.
00:47Galena, sister?
00:48I seem to remember you having a taste for undorban wild strawberries.
00:54Low buzz and high costs aren't a good combination.
00:57And the show petered out after three seasons.
01:00With nine books left to adapt, they didn't even try to resolve anything.
01:03And now we'll never know for sure how they would have adapted the other Oathbreakers.
01:07Soul of fire.
01:09Heart of stone.
01:12In pride he conquers.
01:15Forcing the proud to yield.
01:17On the bright side, if you want to know how it ends, the books are right there.
01:22Number 9, iCarly.
01:23Across 16 years, two series, and a combined nine seasons, there's always been one burning
01:30question iCarly never quite answered.
01:32Where the heck is Carly and Spencer's mom?
01:34You got a mom?
01:36She's never so much as mentioned in the original series, let alone seen.
01:40So when she finally makes her grand off-screen appearance in the reboot's third season finale,
01:45you could say it was a long time coming.
01:47Oh my god.
01:52Oh my god.
01:55Mom?
01:56In fact, it will be a long time coming for a little bit more, because Paramount Plus rudely
02:01canceled the series on its biggest cliffhanger ever.
02:03You just have to laugh.
02:05Clearly, Carly and Spencer's mother just isn't meant to be.
02:08Wow.
02:10It's so crazy how your whole future starts with just one question.
02:15Anyway, I have to go buy four tanks of ammonia.
02:19Bye!
02:20Number 8, Pushing Daisies.
02:22At this very moment, a life event was taking place.
02:26Lily Charles had begun to experience feelings that had become foreign.
02:31These pleasant sensations...
02:33Lily?
02:33...were not to last.
02:35In appropriately kooky fashion, this show ends with a death, a resurrection, and an optimistic
02:40outlook for the future.
02:42Sadly, it would never come.
02:43Despite critical success and even a few Emmy wins, Pushing Daisies was never a viewership
02:49juggernaut.
02:50Eventually, ratings were too low to justify a third season renewal, leaving the story frustratingly
02:55unresolved.
02:56For the pie maker and a dead girl named Chuck, their shared life event began with a touch
03:01and became the promise of a new family brought about by the words...
03:06I'm alive.
03:07Digby's alive!
03:08There's more magical rules.
03:10Ned and Chuck are finally together again.
03:12As much as this feels like the ending of a chapter, it also blows the door wide open
03:16for more supernatural crime solving.
03:18And maybe even a happily ever after?
03:21Events occurred that are not, were not, and should never be considered an ending.
03:26For endings, as it is known, are where we begin.
03:30Alas, Ned can raise the dead, but not even he can resurrect these wilting daisies.
03:35Number 7.
03:36The L Word
03:37You guys, um, you guys changed my life.
03:43Wow, you really did.
03:45Don't let the title fool you.
03:47Mum is the only word when it comes to who killed Jenny.
03:50That's right, the show ends without a killer in custody.
03:53Or even one revealed.
03:54You know, I'm afraid this is going to take a bit longer than we thought.
03:59Well, we'll do whatever you need for us to do.
04:01It's especially maddening since the entire season is a series of flashbacks
04:05and interrogations leading to a twist that never comes.
04:08The L Word has such a non-ending,
04:10it makes you wonder what the writers were thinking concluding a season like this.
04:14There is a silver lining, though.
04:16The follow-up series, Generation Q,
04:18finally gave Jenny's story the closure it deserved.
04:21At least before it was canceled and removed from Showtime's platform.
04:25Yeah, you know I would come.
04:26I just, I'm still here at the office.
04:28I'm waiting to see how this goes.
04:29Seriously, what gives?
04:31Number 6.
04:32Moesha
04:33Thank God y'all here.
04:34Dorian, where's daddy?
04:35We have something we need to talk to him about.
04:36Yeah, look, something very, very important.
04:39Nah, look.
04:39For being billed as a sitcom,
04:41this show doesn't just end on some crazy cliffhangers.
04:44It basically leaps off the cliff altogether.
04:46Look, I gave you a chance to give it,
04:50so I guess I'm just gonna have to take it.
04:53Miles is abducted by a rival gang.
04:55Moesha is torn between her boyfriend and her best friend.
04:58And then, if that's not all dramatic enough,
05:00a positive pregnancy test turns up, too.
05:02A pregnancy test?
05:04Man, now what were you doing in the trash?
05:06I was going through it.
05:08Hey, but that's not what is important.
05:10What is important is somebody in this room is pregnant.
05:13There's so many questions brimming at the end of Moesha's sixth season,
05:16it's downright criminal UPN didn't give it a proper send-off.
05:20We'd even settle for a wrap-up movie at this point.
05:23Anything to figure out whose pregnancy test that was.
05:25And, sure, to see if Miles is okay, too.
05:28Man, where's my little brother?
05:29He's where he is,
05:30and if you want the Cosby family back together again,
05:33you'll break Lamar off a piece of what, you feelin' me?
05:36Number 5.
05:37Santa Clarita Diet
05:38Mama.
05:43Joel?
05:46Joel?
05:47No, no!
05:49Ironically, the human-to-undead ratio of the Hammond family
05:52went up just as the show was officially six feet deep.
05:55Creatively, though, it was more alive than ever.
05:58The opposite of decomposing,
05:59Santa Clarita Diet got better with every episode,
06:02culminating in a finale bombshell
06:04that saw Sheila bite her husband Joel to keep him alive.
06:07Joel?
06:08Joel?
06:08Joel?
06:13Hello?
06:14Now, with double the undead hijinks to contend with,
06:17Santa Clarita Diet brilliantly teased a fourth season
06:20that would never materialize.
06:22While the Zom rom-com was always a bit of an oddball
06:25in Netflix's catalog,
06:26its fans still deserve resolutions.
06:28Give us Undead Timothy Oliphant, dang it.
06:31All right, Gary.
06:32What's it gonna take to make you stay?
06:35Some money for my niece.
06:36Every month.
06:38Vacation time.
06:38Maybe drive me to Tahoe once a year.
06:40Rent a boat.
06:41No matter how astute your storytelling instincts are,
06:59there's no way to guess the bonkers ending of 1899's first season.
07:03Or, should we say, only season.
07:05Netflix did what Netflix does best
07:08and shortchanged a potential mega-hit right as it was on the cusp of greatness.
07:12To put it bluntly, 1899's finale left fans questioning the very fabric of reality.
07:18Your brother,
07:19you took over the whole program whilst you were in here.
07:24But you did what?
07:25He's been controlling everything.
07:27But even though it established a near-infinite list of directions season two could take,
07:32Netflix decided to leave the series unfinished.
07:35There's no better word for it.
07:37Since season one is clearly constructed as an introduction,
07:40the lack of follow-through makes 1899 a hidden gem that's difficult to recommend.
07:45As much as we can try to forget the things we don't want to remember,
07:50we will never be able to delete them entirely.
07:53They're part of who we are.
07:54As you'd expect, the gorgeous ladies of wrestling made for some truly gorgeous television.
08:13Netflix disagreed, though,
08:15and ended the Emmy winner right as Ruth shook up the formula by leaving wrestling behind.
08:20The worst part of this ambitious ending?
08:22Netflix had already renewed GLOW for a fifth and final season.
08:26What is it?
08:27Why are you so happy?
08:29What?
08:30Can a girl love Christmas?
08:31That's right.
08:32GLOW was supposed to get a full season-long goodbye.
08:35But after several production delays due to the coronavirus,
08:38Netflix decided it wasn't worth the effort anymore.
08:41It makes GLOW's abrupt finale hurt even more.
08:44Excuse me, are you boarding this flight?
08:45Not because the cliffhanger is particularly painful,
08:48but because it was so close to having the ending it deserved.
08:52I don't understand you.
08:54Yes, you do.
08:57Probably better than anyone.
08:59Number two, My Name is Earl.
09:01We've got another problem.
09:03What?
09:05These three DNAs match.
09:07That means it's you and the boys,
09:09which makes this one mine and it doesn't match any of those.
09:12Spoiler alert, Darnell is not Earl Jr.'s father.
09:16Across the nation, jaws dropped as everyone looked to Joy for an explanation.
09:21But then the screen went black and the words to be continued appeared.
09:24Now, everybody just calm down.
09:30Only it never did.
09:32That's right, My Name is Earl got cancelled after literally ending on a to be continued screen.
09:37Even for a comedy, you can't write a joke better than that.
09:40That's a flask. You're showing me a flask.
09:43Oh, haha. Sorry about that.
09:49Oh, I get it now.
09:52Unfortunately for fans of the series,
09:54this unsatisfying conclusion was no laughing matter.
09:57It's sad to admit, but as the years go on,
10:00it seems more and more unlikely we'll ever find out who Earl Jr.'s father really is.
10:05Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
10:09Chaos. Not even Jeff Goldblum can fend off the dreaded Netflix curse.
10:13I'm sorry, my friend. It's happening.
10:18Chaos is coming.
10:19Alf. Hey, at least we got a wrap-up movie.
10:22Well, well, well.
10:24Didn't you lead us on a merry little chase?
10:27A delightful little chase, indeed.
10:29You don't seem too delighted.
10:31Oh, but I am.
10:32Lois and Clark. The New Adventures of Superman.
10:35This super baby ended the show on a super cliffhanger.
10:38Oh, listen, Clark. This child belongs to you.
10:48Hannibal. Quite literally a cliffhanger.
10:51The bluff is eroding.
10:54There was more land when I was here with Abigail.
10:58More land still when I was here with Miriam Lass.

11:16From the very beginning, this sci-fi think piece was envisioned as a five-part saga.
11:33Creators Britt Marling and Zal Batmunglich even had the entire arc mapped out and ready to go.
11:38But then, Netflix happened.
11:40After two well-received seasons, they pulled the plug, ensuring the planned five-season story ended as a disappointing duology.
11:47OA is here.
11:50What, she's here?
11:52Oh, maybe I can feel across dimensions.
11:55We're in the right place.
11:58It's just the wrong room.
12:01It's a hard flow no matter how you look at it, compounded by the fact that season two had almost zero closure.
12:07The last we see of our heroes, Prairie and the others are in an all-new reality grappling with the consequences of cross-dimensional travel.
12:14He may take us to a place where I don't know myself.
12:17Where we don't know each other.
12:21You come find me.
12:24I'll follow you.
12:25It's an ending that begs to be explored.
12:27Not that Netflix seemed to care.
12:29Okay, you can bring back one of these shows for a wrap-up season.
12:33Which are you picking?
12:34Defend your choice in the comments below.
12:36Look, I need y'all help right now.
12:38I'm in really big trouble.
