00:00When you have delicious gulab jamun in front of you, it's impossible to say no.

00:04Soft texture and sweet syrup is a comforting treat after every meal.

00:09In a large bowl, mix milk powder, flour, baking soda and add ghee and rub it into the mixture with your fingers until it resembles breadcrumbs.

00:21Gradually add milk and knead gently into a soft, smooth dough.

00:27Avoid over kneading.

00:28Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.

00:32Divide the dough into small portions and roll them into smooth, crack-free balls.

00:39In a pan, mix 500 grams of sugar with 400 milliliters of water.

00:45Then add cardamom powder, saffron and rose water.

00:49Bring it to a boil and simmer for about 5 to 7 minutes until it becomes slightly sticky.

00:54The syrup doesn't need to form threads.

00:56Heat oil in a deep pan on low-medium heat.

01:04The oil should be hot but not smoking.

01:06Gently add the balls into the oil.

01:09Fry them on low heat, stirring continuously to ensure even browning.

01:14This takes about 12 to 15 minutes.

01:16Should be fried until they turn a deep golden brown color.

01:19After frying, immediately place into the warm sugar syrup.

01:24Let them soak for at least 2 to 3 hours to absorb the syrup fully.
