00:28It's a chilling image that sets the tone for the horrors that await us in the film.
00:32As the trailer begins, we are immediately plunged into the midst of a haunting.
00:37A woman is levitating above her bed, her face contorted in a mask of terror.
00:42She then smashes through the window, escaping into the night.
00:46But where she's going, we can only guess.
00:49The scene cuts to a close-up of a diary with the words the demon has come scrawled across the pages.
00:53This is followed by a shot of a crucifix hanging crookedly on a wall, suggesting that even the symbols of faith are not safe from the darkness that is enveloping this house.

01:09They are seeking help from paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.
01:16Taking off, we see the family gathered around a table with Ed and Lorraine as they attempt to communicate with the spirits in their home.
01:24Lorraine, with her trademark cigarette dangling from her lips, begins to speak in a trans-like state, uttering cryptic warnings about an entity known as Bathsheba.
01:34The investigation takes a terrifying turn when Lorraine is attacked by an unseen force, causing her to collapse and scream in agony.
01:47As the haunting intensifies, we witness the spirit of Bathsheba, portrayed by the demonic nun, Valak, rising from the depths of hell.
