00:00And they certainly have arguably the best fantasy football quarterback in the land right now.
00:04I mean, these numbers are real, George.
00:06Crazy.
00:0640-4-0 total touchdowns this past season for Josh Allen.
00:13So, I mean, we could do hours on Josh Allen, how good he is, George,
00:17or how great he is for fantasy and how important it is to not play against this guy
00:21on a weekly basis in fantasy, too.
00:23But every year, George, we hear he's going to dial it back.
00:26He's not going to run.
00:28He's not going to throw.
00:29He's going to hand the ball.
00:30And it never happens, George.
00:31Every year, the guy just still puts up these monster numbers.
00:35So when I hear Sean McDermott say, hey, we've got to take care of Josh Allen,
00:38got to make sure he's healthy, got to make sure he's not, I don't believe any of it.
00:42The guy is still the number one quarterback or the number two quarterback,
00:45just depends on how you feel, in fantasy football.
00:48And to me, he is the one player each week, very similar, kind of similar to Lamar Jackson,
00:52where I know if I'm playing against Josh Allen, I'm just praying it's not the game of his life.
00:59Oh, exactly.
01:01And what you said about McDermott is so true.
01:03And I believe that McDermott means well.
01:05You know, I think he would like to protect Josh Allen.
01:07But the problem is, if he's not running the ball, the offense isn't going to click here, right?
01:12I mean, you don't have a true number one wide receiver there.
01:14You have Khalil Shakir.
01:15You got Ken Coleman, who maybe develops into one, but I don't think so.
01:19All right.
01:19Joshua Palmer, Elijah.
01:20We got a whole bunch of twos and threes there.
01:22So he doesn't have that number one he can rely on over and over again.
01:26You got a tight end that we thought was going to be an ace who's not, and then Kincaid, right?
01:30So Josh Allen has to be that guy, has to be that guy.
01:33I know, listen, I play in a lot of super flex leagues.
01:36That's what I think should be the norm, by the way.
01:38One quarterback leagues are boring, all right?
01:40There's more than 12 good quarterbacks.
01:42Everybody's going to get a very good one.
01:43Two quarterback leagues adds more strategy here.
01:45So in the super flex leagues that I play in, I mentioned my home leagues.
01:48They're both super flex.
01:50I have the second pick.
01:51I'm taking a quarterback.
01:52No choice.
01:52It's also a six-point touchdown pass league in that league.
01:55So once again, no choice here.
01:56And I'm wondering, am I going to get Jackson?
01:58Because my brother has number one.
02:00I know he's picking a quarterback as well.
02:01So am I getting Lamar Jackson or am I getting Josh Allen and Craig?
02:05Either way, I'm not complaining.
02:06I expect big, big years from both of them.
02:09Yeah, and it's going to be the case.
02:11And hopefully one gets to win a Super Bowl eventually because it's kind of overdue.
02:15I think for both players here at this point.
02:17All right.
02:17In terms of running back, we really saw James Cook do pretty much exactly what we thought
02:22he would do last year.
02:23Maybe the one little surprise was that Ray Davis got as much action as he did, George.
02:29I think that's probably fair to say.
02:31Ty Johnson is absolutely the third running back in their system.
02:35Cook, I know, wants a new contract at this point.
02:38You know this debate with running backs, George.
02:40It almost never happens.
02:41It feels like you've got to fight right to the bitter end to get paid.
02:44But I would expect another big year for Cook.
02:47I mean, you know, honestly, maybe people thought that maybe he wasn't as good last year as
02:50they thought he was going to be.
02:51But I have no issue with him, you know, certainly being one of my top running backs in fantasy
02:56this year.
02:58Yeah, I think he's still an interesting guy, right?
03:01Because you already said no one really saw that year come from last year.
03:04Not that he's not good.
03:05He's a good running back, right?
03:06And he deserves a new contract.
03:08But you already said running backs are generally devalued in today's NFL, although I think
03:13that's starting to tick up a little bit.
03:15But once again, it's not when you and I were growing up.
03:17You know, everybody, your first pick in the first round was always going to be a running
03:21back because you needed the running backs here.
03:22Now, any of the NFL teams don't do that anymore as it's become a passing league here.
03:27I like James Cook.
03:28Someone else is going to pick it up there.
03:30Is he a running back one?
03:33Yes, I think he is.
03:34Is he top 10?
03:35He's sort of that borderline for me, Craig.
03:37Right around there, I mean, Jonathan Taylor, Bucky Irving, Josh Jacobs, Chase Brown, Kyron
03:43Williams, James Cook.
03:44I mean, they're all sort of there, you know?
03:45It depends on which way you want to go.
03:47So I like James Cook.
03:48No problem with him being my RB1.
03:50But I don't think he's an absolute surefire RB1.
03:54Maybe he's your RB2.
03:55You know, maybe he's more that 11 range in a 10 team league, more than the number eight.
04:00It's going to come down to gut feel at that point.
04:02And we'll separate all these guys, by the way.
04:04He's obviously health.
04:05And the other thing is touchdowns.
04:07You know, it'd be nice if Josh Allen – it's funny.
04:10If you have James Cook, you hate Josh Allen.
04:13He's stealing touchdowns from you, right?
04:15You don't want that.
04:15Stop stealing touchdowns because I know I had Cook last year.
04:17I was flipping out of time.
04:18Stop stealing touchdowns.
04:20But it's going to happen again.
04:22But still, I'll take James Cook on my team.
04:23I'll take you on the one.
04:25I'll take you on the one.
04:29Thanks for listening.
