00:06The result of the vote is as follows.
00:09In favour, 142.
00:12Against, 10. Abstentions, 12.
00:17Draft Resolution A-80-L1-Revision 1 is adopted.
00:24Madam President, this conference and the endorsement of this so-called declaration are not a serious attempt at peacemaking.
00:36These are procedural tactics amidst use of this Assembly to force you by the back door what cannot stand at the negotiating table.
00:48Once again, we see externally drafted texts rushed forward without transparency or any debate in this Assembly.
01:03This erodes the legitimacy and trust of the UN.
01:16Your lofty position as President of the General Assembly to express our congratulations, delight and readiness to cooperate and to work with you fully on all issues related to the work of the General Assembly, including the question of Palestine.
01:31?
01:39?
01:44?
01:50Madam President, this conference and the endorsement of this so-called declaration
01:57are not a serious attempt at peacemaking.
02:01These are procedural tactics amidst use of this assembly to force you by the back door
02:09what cannot stand at the negotiating table.
02:13Once again, we see externally drafted texts rushed forward without transparency or any
02:25debate in this assembly.
02:29This erodes the legitimacy and trust of the UN.
02:35This one-sided declaration will not be remembered as a step toward peace.
02:41Only as another hollow gesture that weakens this assembly's credibility.
02:48This is not diplomacy.
02:51It is theater.
02:54A carefully staged performance for headlines, not for peace.
03:00It doesn't shorten the war.
03:02It prolongs it.
03:04It does not weaken Hamas.
03:06It rewards them.
03:08It does not advance negotiations.
03:11It undermines them.
03:14And so we must ask, who benefits?
03:18Not the hostages in Hamas captivity.
03:22Not the people of Gaza.
03:24Not those who pray for real peace.
03:27The only beneficiary is Hamas.
03:29Considered France's recent pledge of statehood, Hamas welcomed it, praising, and I quote, they call it the political and moral pressure it puts on Israel.
03:43When terrorists are the ones cheering you, you have to ask yourself what you are doing.
03:50Some members of this assembly treat this conference like a virtual reality game.
04:00You put on the headset and imagine peace is imminent.
04:04But it is only an illusion.
04:05But it is only an illusion entirely detached from reality.
04:12The reality is that Hamas still rules parts of Gaza, armed, entrenched, and vowing to strike again.
04:20To pretend otherwise is no diplomacy.
04:25It is delusion.
04:28You called in this so-called declaration for Hamas, and I quote, to end its rule in Gaza.
04:37Very nice.
04:38Very impressive.
04:40This assembly may not openly speak it, but all of you know it.
04:45Israel is expected to remove Hamas from the equation.
04:50It's very nice that you mention it, but who is going to do it?
04:55It is on our shoulder to make it happen.
05:00We are left to do the real work to eliminate Hamas, the ultimate obstacle to peace.
05:08And make no mistake, Hamas is the biggest winner of any endorsement here today.
05:13By the time the speeches conclude, they will congratulate you.
05:20They will declare this is the fruit of October 7th.
05:25This is their reward for storming across our borders, slaughtering entire families in their homes,
05:34burning people alive, kidnapping children and the elderly, raping women, and dragging hundreds into captivity.
05:42And now, with this declaration, they learn a deadly lesson, that such savagery brings political reward.
05:52That lesson is as dangerous as any weapon.
05:56And if anyone doubts that Hamas will continue down this path, look no further than this week's terrorist attack at a bus stop in Jerusalem.
06:07Innocent civilians gunned down as they waited for their morning commute.
06:13That is the proof.
06:15Hamas and its allies will not stop.
06:17They do not seek peace.
06:19They test again and again whether terror still pays.
06:24Madam President, this declaration is one-sided.
06:31It does not designate Hamas as a terrorist organization.
06:35And it dares to equate the release of Israeli hostages with the release of convicted terrorists.
06:43Shame on you.
06:45This meaningless political maneuver takes place while innocent people remain blindfolded in Gaza's tunnels.
06:56Starved.
06:57Tortured.
06:59Waiting.
07:00Meanwhile, many members of this assembly blindfold themselves by choice.
07:06By endorsing this declaration, you cover your own eyes.
07:11You choose not to see the truth.
07:14To ignore the facts.
07:16Israel will not wear that blindfold.
07:20We see the hostages.
07:22We see the terror.
07:24We see this declaration for what it is.
07:28A political gesture.
07:30An act of theater.
07:31Madam President, we will not allow Hamas to win in this assembly what it could not gain on October 7th.
07:44Intervention and to five minutes for the second intervention and should be made by delegations from their seats.
07:52I call on the observer of the observer state of Palestine to take the floor.
08:01Thank you, Madam President.
08:05Allow me at the beginning, since this is my first statement in the General Assembly,
08:11after you assumed your lofty position as President of the General Assembly,
08:17to express our congratulations, delight, and readiness to cooperate and to work with you fully
08:26on all issues related to the work of the General Assembly, including the question of Palestine.
08:33We will pay you extensive visits to coordinate, to cooperate, and to facilitate the success of the work of the General Assembly
08:45on the issues of mutual importance to us.
08:53Allow me also to thank Saudi Arabia and France for the remarkable work that they did so far
09:03in convening all of the preparatory meetings, in preparing the documents,
09:09in adopting the outcome, the New York Declaration on the implementation of the two-state solution
09:21in July and also in today in this chamber.
09:27In this connection also we are grateful to the 17 leaders who led countries and regional groups,
09:37who led the deliberation of the eight round tables.
09:42And also I want to thank the overwhelming majority of nations that voted for the endorsement of this declaration,
09:54endorsement of the plan for peace, endorsement for the details of that plan in the declaration and in the annex,
10:06and the yearning of almost everyone, the international community, to open the door for the option of peace.
10:18We heard a voice that this is not endorsing peace, but endorsing something else.
10:27I trust that this overwhelming vote and endorsement by all those who voted in favor of this resolution
10:42is an illustration of saying, yes, we have a plan, yes, we have a detailed roadmap for peace,
10:52and we invite the party that is still pushing the option of war and destruction
11:00and attempts to eliminate the Palestinian people and steal their land,
11:07to listen to the sound of reason, to the sound of the logic of dealing with this issue peacefully,
11:16and for the overwhelming message that has resonated in this General Assembly today.
11:24For those who want peace, come and join us.
11:28For those who want to save lives, come and join us.
11:32For those who want to put an end to the war in Gaza, this aggression, come and join us.
11:39For those who want to release of the hostages and the prisoners, come and join us.
11:44For those who want to use the denial of food and to impose famine against the Palestinian people in Gaza, come and join us.
11:59For those who want to rebuild and to reconstruct the Gaza Strip, come and join us.
12:06For those who want to have an end to this illegal occupation, come and join us.
12:12For those who want to live side by side in peace and security and to open the doors for integration in the entire Middle East,
12:36and for allowing the Middle East, and for allowing the Middle East to reach its potential in terms of development, innovation, science, and cooperation,
12:45and cooperation, come and join us.
12:48All these details and many more details are contained in the declaration that we've endorsed today.
12:56And I believe that, Madam President, since this is the first major issue under your presidency that you face,
13:06maybe this is a good omen.
13:08Come and join us, all those who are interested in peace, interested in dealing with putting an end to the tragedy,
13:16and allowing the people in the Middle East, all of them, to save their lives, to save the lives of children,
13:24and to open the doors for peace and development and progress and hope.
13:31Thank you very much, Madam President.
13:46Thank you very much.
