00:00You're currently polling very well, but so far it's only the rural booths that we're seeing.
00:05Do you expect that to hold up when the urban results start coming in?
00:10Well, I'm not Nostradamus, so I can't really say definitively, but it's a trend.
00:18I will say that ordinarily I would expect that to slow, as we got into some of the bigger booths.
00:26But nevertheless, that is a really positive sign, and it's a really positive sign from those practical regions in that electorate
00:34that have a really practical outlook on the future of not only their region, but their state.
00:39They've seen what's happened, and they're voting accordingly. That's how I read that.
00:44So for the team, I'm not talking from my perspective, but I'm talking from the team's perspective,
00:49that is an incredibly positive result.
00:52I'm warmed by it, and I would like to think that whilst it will slow, it will still remain on that positive trajectory.
01:01And also, you're here tonight, you just pointed out your children.
01:03How is it having them here for this event?
01:06Well, that's the main, that's the predominant reason that that was my driver for leaving federal politics.
01:12But I just didn't see that.
01:13This way, I can still be in the state.
01:20You know, I was all over the world, in a lot of cases, and I don't want to miss them growing up.
01:25I lost a wife, and I was a single parent for a long time, and I learnt then that families are precious.
01:32You only get one chance at that, and that's why I made that decision.
01:36I think the state is a compromise.
01:39I'm at least on the same island, put it that way.
01:42So, yeah, hopefully we can work through that.
