00:20Today is the day. I didn't think I would be the recipient of care at the UTSW Simmons Cancer Center,
00:26my uncle Harold Simmons and his foundation established almost 30 years ago, but now I have
00:32breast cancer. In addition to noting her gratitude for the hospital's medical staff, she adds,
00:39After today, I will add breast cancer survivor to a long list of life experiences.
00:45I look forward to telling my story to inspire others in the future. The 56-year-old concludes with,
00:52Thank you to everyone that has sent prayers and support to my family and me. We appreciate it so
00:58very much and love having your support. As for her next steps, D'Andra shares on her Instagram story
01:05that she will be undergoing three surgeries, a seed localization to mark the tumor in the breast that
01:11is to be removed, a similar procedure for the affected lymph nodes, and finally the actual removal
01:18of those parts later in the day.
