00:00I don't like, I'm not a big fan of clothes, and that's the most comfortable thing.

00:05Being able to fight and move in it, there's no restrictions, so it's really kind of very freeing.

00:10I think there's a strength in it.

00:15Firstly, congratulations.

00:17I know Chief of War is a bit of a passion project for both of you, and both of you have deep ties to Hawaii,

00:23so I'd love to know sort of what made this process personal for you both.

00:27For myself, ever since I started as an actor, being 19, I mean, there's always the dream of being able to do something for your people.

00:36You know the story since you're a kid.

00:38You know, you watch these movies where, you know, Dance with Wolves or Last of the Mohicans,

00:43you're like, oh, we could do that with our culture, and I'd like to see myself up there, my people up there.

00:48So it's like you have these far-out dreams, but never did I really think that it would happen on this level.

00:54Having said that, I never thought I'd be f***ing Aquaman, so thanks, Aquaman.

01:01Yeah.

01:01Tomorrow we face gods and men to build the kingdoms.

01:04It was just a way for us to express culture, using production to show something that had never been shown before

01:11and allow people to see Hawaii the way that Hawaiians see it.

01:16You know, we've always been a host culture, or at least viewed as a host culture,

01:20and just one aspect of us is shown, and it's usually the hospitality side.

01:25But the truth is, is the image of Hawaiians, we see ourselves a little different.

01:29And in this case, it allowed us to explore our chiefly stories and the warrior culture that comes with that.

01:36And the warriors came out of the woodwork, and they just came from everywhere.

01:39That's our story.

01:40It's our people.

01:41It's our bloodlines, you know?

01:43And so it really was an opportunity.

01:46Like you said, it is a passion project.

01:47How many people get to really share their passion projects, and especially at this level?

01:52Jason, you're wearing a traditional, like, Marlowe for most of this series, which is no small thing.

02:04I mean, what was that like, stepping out onto set for the first time, wearing that?

02:09How did that feel?

02:10Very empowering.

02:12I felt beautiful and free and just rooted in my culture.

02:17If I could wear that every day, I would.

02:20But I don't like, I'm not a big fan of clothes, and that's the most comfortable thing.

02:26I think maybe the way it looks is uncomfortable, but it's actually the most comfortable thing I've ever worn.

02:31And being able to fight and move in it, there's no restrictions.

02:35So it's really kind of very freeing.

02:38And I think there's a strength in it.

02:40If this island is divided, this kingdom will fall.

02:44I mean, you've gone from riding a shark in Chief of War to moshing at Ozzy Osbourne's final gig.

02:53I mean, which was more intense of those two experiences?

02:57I'm going to go with riding with a shark.

02:58I got to tell you, moshing at the Black Sabbath finale was, it felt like being in Big Surf.

03:05Really, that's all it was.

03:06It's like a gigantic undertow.

03:08You can't keep your feet up, and you're getting tossed everywhere, and you're laughing, and you're having the time of your life.

03:14And you're literally falling over, and people are pulling you up.

03:17And it's very hot in England right now, so you're wet with other people's sweat.

03:25Yeah.

03:25It's all part of the experience.

03:28Yeah.

03:28And, you know, I wanted to get my son out there.

03:30I just, you know, you want to experience things with your family members.

03:34And so for my boy, it was like a memorable moment to get out there and do it to Pantera,

03:39because ultimately I would rather be in the pit with everybody, also because I'm a huge fan.

03:44So why the hell do you guys get to have all the fun?

03:46I don't know.
