00:00Today on Forbes, Trump has spent about one-third of his presidency visiting his own properties.
00:08Stationed in Scotland for several days this past week, Donald Trump camped out in the
00:12sorts of destinations he likes best – his own businesses.
00:17He examined Trump Turnberry's grounds alongside the U.S. ambassador, touted its ballroom in
00:22front of the European Commission's president, and, on Tuesday morning, unveiled a second
00:27golf course at his property in Aberdeenshire with his sons Eric and Don Jr.
00:33No modern president has blended private business and public duties quite like Trump.
00:38Having sold his Washington, D.C. hotel in 2022, the president returned to office with no property
00:43in the nation's capital.
00:46That has not stopped him from personally tending to his assets.
00:49He went to one of his clubs 16 of his first 17 weekends, and he has now spent time at his
00:54businesses on 75 of his first 190 days back in office, according to a Forbes analysis,
01:01traveling to Florida, New Jersey, Virginia, Nevada, and, of course, Scotland.
01:08Forbes has tracked the trips month by month from January through July, identifying each day
01:12that Trump visited one of his properties.
01:15Days after taking office on January 20, Trump headed to Las Vegas, staying in his hotel just
01:21off the Strip.
01:22He then flew to Miami to welcome Republican representatives to a conference at Trump National Doral.
01:28The president returned to D.C. after a couple days in Florida, then headed back south the
01:32next weekend to visit Mar-a-Lago on January 31, and remained there to start February.
01:38Mar-a-Lago quickly became the president's go-to getaway after he returned to power.
01:43Since returning to office, Trump has spent time at Mar-a-Lago on 35 days, including 12 in February,
01:49according to Forbes' analysis.
01:52The president went to one of his clubs on 16 of his first 17 weekends in office, including
01:56every weekend in March.
01:58He had plenty to do there, such as host fundraisers, despite being constitutionally barred from winning
02:03a third term.
02:05On Saturday, March 1, Trump held a candlelight dinner at Mar-a-Lago for MAGA Inc., a political
02:10action committee established two days after his 2024 victory.
02:15Between his many visits to Florida, Trump spent a day at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
02:21Trump made market-rattling news at the beginning of April, promising to impose worldwide tariffs.
02:27With the S&P 500 down 5% the day after the announcement, the president flew from Washington, D.C. to Florida again.
02:34This time, it was to make an appearance ahead of a tournament at Doral for the Saudi-backed Live Golf.
02:40He then headed to Mar-a-Lago for the weekend.
02:43Trump spent 11 of 30 days in April at his own properties.
02:47In mid-May, the president left the United States for a three-country tour through the Middle East.
02:52His business probably didn't fade too far from his mind.
02:56The president first stopped in Saudi Arabia, where he recently secured deals to license
02:59his name on three properties.
03:02Next, he headed to Qatar, home to another new project.
03:06Finally, he went to the United Arab Emirates, where Trump already has two deals and may soon
03:11add a third in Abu Dhabi.
03:13He returned stateside on May 16th and spent many of May's remaining days at his clubs in
03:18Virginia and New Jersey.
03:21During the summer months, Trump shies away from the Florida heat.
03:24That just means more time at his golf clubs in New Jersey and Virginia, the latter of
03:29which provides a convenient place for schmoozing fellow politicians.
03:33On June 28th, with Congress nearing a vote on the so-called Big Beautiful Bill, Trump took
03:38three senators, Lindsey Graham, Eric Schmidt, and Rand Paul, out to play golf at his course.
03:45Paul, known for his independent thinking, voted against the bill anyway.
03:49The outing marked one of Trump's three days at the course in June.
03:53The president spent time at his club in New Jersey another four days, according to the
03:57Forbes analysis.
03:59Trump has long had a domineering attitude toward Europe, so it was little surprise when, on
04:04his recent trip there, he encouraged other leaders to come to him, specifically to his
04:09golf resort at Trump Turnberry.
04:12They obliged, with a visit from European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who met with the
04:17president in a ballroom he named after himself.
04:20British Prime Minister Keir Starmer arrived the next day, prompting Trump to gush over windows
04:25in the facility.
