00:01Tunisia's Ahmed Jawadi clinched his first significant title by winning the 800m freestyle at the World Swimming Championships on Wednesday, executing a perfectly timed strategy.
00:14Yeah, it feels good to have this kind of races. You don't know how fast you're going, but you feel like you're on top. And to be honest, I wasn't expecting to swim that fast. I was expecting like 7.38, 7.37, but not 7.36. Feels good. Always thankful for being able to accomplish this, even though I had to work a lot for this to happen. But yeah, it was a good one.
00:39Jawadi dedicated his victory to fellow Tunisian Ahmed Hafnawi, a former Olympic and world champion who was handed a 21-month suspension in April due to three anti-doping violations.
