Panicked sea-lions dive into the sea as quake rocks cliffs on Kamchatka
Panicked sea-lions dived into the sea as quake hit the island of Antsiferov just off the shores of Russia's Kamchatka peninsula.
The island is known as a natural habitat for Steller sea lions, a large, near-threatened species of sea lion. As the powerful quake hit the island and the rocks started falling, the sea lions were seen diving in the sea for safety. The video was filmed from a ship by a tourist on a nature day trip near the Antsiferov island.
The powerful magnitude 8.8 earthquake off Russia's Far Eastern Kamchatka Peninsula triggered tsunami waves of up to 5 meters (16 feet) nearby and sparked evacuation orders as far away as Hawaii and across the Pacific on Wednesday.
