I visited the Shard Riverside and tried their new menu - it was delicious
Transcript
00:00The Shard Riverside Inn, nestled along the banks of the River Wire and Poulsen-the-Feld,
00:04has introduced a new menu that reflects a deep commitment to quality, local sourcing
00:09and culinary passion. At the heart of it is Dale, the new head chef whose unconventional
00:13journey from novice to leader in the kitchen brings a personal hands-on approach to every
00:17dish. During my visit I sampled several highlights from the new menu. The haddock goujons with
00:22curried mayonnaise were delicately crisp and well seasoned, while the tempura halimi paired
00:26with smoked chilli jam offered a perfectly balanced mix of heat and creaminess. The
00:31parmesan fries with truffle oil were rich and aromatic and the black pudding and induja
00:35bonbons served in a red pepper and tomato ragu were definitely a standout, with their bold,
00:40earthy and rich flavours. What sets this menu apart is not only the skill in preparation
00:45but the integrity of its ingredients. Dale's emphasis on sourcing locally and crafting dishes
00:50with intention is clear in every bite. The Shard's latest offering is a confident, thoughtful
00:55update, one that honours both flavour and place.
