00:00The U.S. and China have agreed to work on extending a deadline for new tariffs on each other after two days of trade talks in Stockholm, according to Beijing's lead negotiator.
00:12But U.S. officials said the extension still needs approval from U.S. President Donald Trump, saying their Chinese counterparts had jumped the gun a little.

00:41But the overall tone of the meetings was very constructive.
00:45China said both sides agreed to work towards extending the current tariff pause by another 90 days beyond the August the 12th deadline.
00:54The talks come as Trump is reportedly considering plans to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, a summit that could be a crucial step towards locking in any major agreement between their two countries.
