Trumby and Jack Quinn recount the dramatic March 26 flooding that hit their property after a massive downpour dumped 600mm of rain on Hickleton Station.

00:00Water was about a foot in the late house, and within half an hour, I could feel the floorboards got real cold.

00:06I said, Jack, this doesn't feel too good.

00:08And it would have only been five minutes after that, that Heidi rang.

00:13And I was still sitting there having a cup of tea, and I was watching the fluff washout on the couch.

00:18But we put stuff up, like, in the office.

00:20A foot in the last hour.

00:21Filing cabinets, and the officer took the bottom drawers out and put them up high.

00:24Well, it went half up the next one, sir.

00:26Then on a Wednesday night, we sat, we didn't go to sleep, we sat up in front of the truck with three little dogs.

00:31Every half hour, I started to torture it, and we'd just see how deep the world was getting.

00:33Because you could hear it splashed up under the fuel tanks and the trucks.

00:36And hot as buggery.

00:37We had the windows up, because there was 20 bales of round bales, and we were thinking, all the snakes are going to go up in the hay.

00:42So we got the windows up, three dogs and two blokes, hot.

00:46And then you put the dogs out for a pee, they go on the hay, and they didn't know what was going on.

00:50We had wet feet for 48 hours straight.

00:52It was just a bloody mess.

00:53But we haven't even got into some of the sheds yet.

00:55Like, there's a horse float over there, full of, like, salary and all sorts of stuff.

00:59We haven't even been in there.

01:00I know it's built bugging.

01:01And stuff down the back of the shed that's rolled on a big pile full of silk.

01:04So up until three weeks ago, we had all our clothes in the cars, in black garbage bags.

01:11Had to play musical cars, because if you wanted that car to go to town, you had to...

01:14You got all stuff out through another car.

01:15...in another vehicle.

01:16That was our clothes cupboard.

01:20So I really wanted to go to town and get back on those things.

01:25And then we get a little bit of stuff that I wanted to try.

01:27And we're going to get into the car.
