In anticipation of Airport 34 years later, womanizing pilot Jack Gordon is called upon to safely guide his plane through a blinding blizzard. His task is complicated by a trio of crooks who are escaping from the law after pulling a jewel heist, and by a shady nobleman who offers Gordon a large amount of money if he will land the plane before San Francisco. In the climax, one of the passengers hijacks the plane, only to be foiled by — of all people — an obnoxious brat of a youngster.

00:01:00The End
00:01:29I'm sorry, miss, but I can't take your check without proper identification. It's a company rule.
00:01:34Anyone in New York can tell you that I'm here. Perhaps this will be sufficient security.
00:01:39I'm sorry.
00:01:41Well, is there anything I can do? I'm Jack Gordon.
00:01:44Mr. Gordon, senior pilot on our Western Division.
00:01:47Fine, Felice Rollins. I simply must leave for San Francisco tonight. It means everything to me.
00:01:51You see, Jack, there's a rule. Why, uh, I'll vouch for Miss Rollins.
00:01:57Will, uh, you just sign this here.
00:02:00Well, it's awfully nice of you. If I, if I weren't desperate, I wouldn't trouble you.
00:02:12Oh, it's no trouble. It's a very short name.
00:02:15There, but that isn't my very best handwriting.
00:02:18You look beautiful to me.
00:02:19Oh, you should see me when I have my own pen.
00:02:21Season's greetings from the airline.
00:02:22Thank you. I hope they have a lovely Christmas, too.
00:02:24Your ring, Miss Rollins.
00:02:26Oh, but you must take that.
00:02:27Oh, but I don't want your ring.
00:02:29Gee, this is purely a business transaction.
00:02:30Oh, but I...
00:02:31You can return it when the check has been cleared.
00:02:37Friend of yours?
00:02:38That's it.
00:02:40But I have plans.
00:02:42You don't know her?
00:02:44Oh, well, well, isn't that cute?
00:02:49I wonder if I could interest you in buying a piece of property I own.
00:02:54The Brooklyn Bridge.
00:02:58You don't think it's a...
00:02:59I wouldn't be a bit surprised.
00:03:02Ho, ho, ho, ho.
00:03:04Get my bag off of the floor of the plane.
00:03:06Jimmy, take it away.
00:03:0882, Chicago.
00:03:0982, Chicago.
00:03:1338, Omaha.
00:03:1438, Omaha.
00:03:1575, San Francisco.
00:03:20The weather all right?
00:03:21It's clear as far as Chicago.
00:03:23But you think we'll arrive in San Francisco on schedule?
00:03:25Sure, we'll get you there.
00:03:25Don't worry.
00:03:26We?
00:03:27Why, last year we completed...
00:03:28Yes, I know.
00:03:2997 and 6 tenths percent of all flights on schedule.
00:03:31Buy time to send a telegram.
00:03:33You have five minutes.
00:03:34I'm going all the way through.
00:03:35If you want to ask me questions, just sound off.
00:03:37I know all the answers.
00:03:38You seem to.
00:03:38Get wise, big fella.
00:03:43Girls don't fall for dashing aviators anymore.
00:03:45Not since they gave up helmets and goggles.
00:03:47Listen, Meg, I'm getting a little tired of wisecracks.
00:03:49Everybody on this airline seems to think that the minute a good-looking gal comes along,
00:03:52I'm going to rush up and bite her in the neck.
00:03:54Well, it has happened.
00:03:55What did you hear about that?
00:03:57Well, anyway, that was seven years ago.
00:03:58In the prime of your biting career.
00:04:00Now, listen, I...
00:04:01I know.
00:04:01Don't tell me.
00:04:02You did it just for a gag.
00:04:04Well, sonny boy, don't say I never help you.
00:04:06Her name is Rollins.
00:04:07Police Rollins.
00:04:08I've never known a girl named Felice.
00:04:11No.
00:04:12You thought all girls were named Goldie.
00:04:14Or Gussie.
00:04:15Or Trixie.
00:04:15Hey, what do you think I am?
00:04:17Come, come now.
00:04:17Let's not spoil a pleasant friendship.
00:04:19Anyway, Goldie or Trixie or Felice are all dames.
00:04:21Sure, only this one's a metal type.
00:04:23All right, wise guy.
00:04:24Two bucks is saying I take Laurelis to dinner tonight in San Francisco.
00:04:27Real dough?
00:04:27Yeah, real dough.
00:04:28Sold.
00:04:30Pardon me.
00:04:31Considering the fact I don't trust you where money's concerned, how am I going to know
00:04:41you took her to dinner?
00:04:42Skipping a crack about my honesty, I'll send you the menu with her signature.
00:04:46Another two bucks.
00:04:46There he is.
00:05:06That's the thing I'm going to find her.
00:05:08Mr. Gordon.
00:05:25Oh, Mr. Gordon.
00:05:26Will you come here a moment?
00:05:34Mr. Gordon, this is Ms. Harkins.
00:05:37How do you do, Ms. Harkins?
00:05:37I'm Waldemar's governor.
00:05:39And this is Waldemar.
00:05:41Waldemar, Pitt III.
00:05:43Mr. Waller says you're to take care of Waldemar and me on the plane.
00:05:47We've never flown before, and it's imperative that Waldemar arrive in San Francisco precisely
00:05:51on schedule.
00:05:53If Sonny Boy doesn't get there tomorrow night, well, I shudder to think of the consequences.
00:05:58And if he doesn't get there?
00:06:00His mother will probably sue for a million dollars.
00:06:02She always has in the past.
00:06:04Well, sue the airlines?
00:06:05Oh, no.
00:06:06Waldemar's father.
00:06:06You see, Mr. Pitt is forever getting date snakes and forgetting to deliver Waldemar on time.
00:06:12And Mrs. Pitt is always bringing suit for contempt, of course.
00:06:16So Mr. Waller said you were to take charge of Sonny Boy and me and see that we arrive on time.
00:06:21Waldemar, come here, please.
00:06:23Waldemar!
00:06:24Waldemar!
00:06:25Hey, get out of there!
00:06:25Hey, you'll get out of there!
00:06:32Waldemar!
00:06:33This is Mr. Gordon, the gentleman who has us in charge.
00:06:37Glad to meet you, young fellow.
00:06:38We'll have a lot of fun.
00:06:41Oh, boy, a bullseye!
00:06:43Waldemar!
00:06:44I told you not to do that.
00:06:45Someday you're going to hurt somebody.
00:06:47If somebody will hurt you...
00:06:49Waldemar!
00:06:49Oh, my, this is Waldemar.
00:06:51Hiya, toot!
00:06:53Well, well, a regular little man making such a long trip.
00:06:57Oh, cut it out.
00:06:58Can't you watch out what you're doing?
00:07:00If you were my kid, I'd break you...
00:07:01I'd break you of that cute little trick.
00:07:04Jane, tell Mr. Kitt we're on our way.
00:07:20Oh, pardon me.
00:07:24Your name, please?
00:07:26Who, me?
00:07:28My name's Palmer, Curtis Palmer.
00:07:31Did we get to San Francisco on time?
00:07:33I think so.
00:07:35Date number three, Mr. Palmer.
00:07:38On board.
00:07:39Date number five for Cleveland.
00:07:42Chicago and West Coast.
00:07:45On board.
00:07:45Are you Dr. Evans?
00:07:46Yes.
00:07:47Do you think we can get to San Francisco on time?
00:07:49I'm sure we will.
00:07:51Doesn't anybody ever get on a plane just for the ride?
00:07:53Do you?
00:07:53Using the northeast runway.
00:08:03Okay when you're ready.
00:08:05Yeah.
00:08:05Yeah, okay.
00:08:06Okay.
00:08:06I was just going to hang it up for you.
00:08:22Oh no, I don't want it back.
00:08:24I'm sorry to rule the company.
00:08:25Oh, but I don't.
00:08:27Oh, don't get excited.
00:08:28There's nothing at all.
00:08:28Just a simple little bell.
00:08:29Oh, we're moving.
00:08:34What if we should fall?
00:08:36Oh.
00:08:36Uh, do you mind if I move to that back seat there?
00:09:00This one is sort of cramped.
00:09:02No, certainly not.
00:09:03Thanks.
00:09:04Thanks.
00:09:06You're a doctor, aren't you?
00:09:36Yes.
00:09:40You home in Frisco?
00:09:42No, just going there.
00:09:45Hmm.
00:09:46Practice in New York, eh?
00:09:50No, just coming from there.
00:09:52Everything all right?
00:10:05Quite.
00:10:14Newspaper?
00:10:32Bull.
00:10:33What are you, church?
00:10:34Baker for Rick Hauser's, 342.
00:10:59Baker for Rick Hauser's, 342 over Toledo at exactly 4 a.m.
00:11:06Yeah.
00:11:07Uh-huh.
00:11:07Is this your first air trip?
00:11:24No.
00:11:25Have you ever flown a night before?
00:11:28No.
00:11:29No.
00:11:29Things are different at night.
00:11:31It's dark, if that's what you mean.
00:11:35It's dark, if that's what you mean.
00:11:45Give me a cup of coffee.
00:11:46You, uh, don't seem to be doing so well.
00:11:51Something becues you about that, Dan.
00:11:53Not peculiar, my boy.
00:11:54Particular.
00:11:55Yes, sir.
00:12:26Holy cow. What next?
00:12:29Looks like a blizzard.
00:12:33Hey, Miss Harkins, wake up!
00:12:35What? What, is it snowing?
00:12:37Oh, you. Oh, my.
00:12:41You'll wait like this.
00:12:56What's the matter?
00:12:57What does it look like?
00:12:58Like it blew through a block of keys.
00:13:04Where are we?
00:13:06For pitties, thanks.
00:13:08Will you help me?
00:13:10Just another step there.
00:13:12My...
00:13:14Where are we?
00:13:16It's all right, Miss Harkins. We're in Chicago.
00:13:18Oh, isn't this ducky?
00:13:20A hot cup of coffee might...
00:13:21Never drink it.
00:13:22A piece of pie, maybe?
00:13:23Never eat pie.
00:13:24A piece of pie.
00:13:25Oh, Waldemar!
00:13:26Where can I find out if there's a telegram for me?
00:13:28On the right of the information desk, Miss Rollins.
00:13:30And goodbye. I'll leave you here.
00:13:32Oh, goodbye, and thank you so much.
00:13:39Hi, you old buzzard. You flying at Omaha?
00:13:41You bet I am, and I don't want any backseat driving from you.
00:13:44Nice talk.
00:13:45How'd you get mixed up there?
00:13:46I'm multi. What's the weather west?
00:13:47Oh, it's okay to Cheyenne. From there on, it's not so hot.
00:13:50Say, they had a fog out there last night so thick.
00:13:52Even the birds had no water.
00:13:54Rain and snow moving south fast.
00:13:56Well, it looks like we might reach Reno about the same time.
00:13:58That's not news. What is?
00:13:59See you on the ship, Jack.
00:14:00Oh, not much.
00:14:01Bob Parker's wife's gonna have triplets.
00:14:02No.
00:14:03Well, it's even money.
00:14:05You still going into a spin every time you see a blonde?
00:14:08Hey, anybody think I hear you talk that...
00:14:18You're a liar, an even more contemptible liar than your brother.
00:14:21And you're a stupid, suspicious little fool.
00:14:23I tell you she's here and so is Alex.
00:14:25He's got a lot of things he wants to discuss with you.
00:14:27I'd rather not discuss anything with either of you.
00:14:29Now, look here, Felice.
00:14:30Catherine came to Chicago, I'll admit that.
00:14:32But neither one of us knows where she is now and Alex doesn't care.
00:14:35I don't believe you.
00:14:36Well, it's true.
00:14:37All right, you win.
00:14:38Let's forget it.
00:14:39Now, wait a minute.
00:14:40Take your hand off me.
00:14:41Now, listen.
00:14:42It's all quits now.
00:14:43She came in from New York and then decided not to go on to Frisco.
00:14:46All right, I believe you.
00:14:47But I'm gonna be in San Francisco when her train arrives just the same.
00:14:50Oh, no, you won't.
00:14:51Uh-oh, naughty boy.
00:14:59Look out, Matt.
00:15:00He's got a gun.
00:15:03Not in here, fellas.
00:15:04Finish it outside.
00:15:08Shame on you.
00:15:12Keep going off the plane.
00:15:13I'll take care of this mud.
00:15:14How about minding your own business?
00:15:16You've messed everything up beautifully.
00:15:20Well, it's too bad.
00:15:23She's even much better off here in Chicago.
00:15:25You think so, do you?
00:15:27I know so.
00:15:28But it saved her a lot of headaches.
00:15:29Her head will be all right.
00:15:32I'll see to that.
00:15:34Oh, yeah?
00:15:36Yeah.
00:15:47Sir, what do you mean I messed things up?
00:15:48I thought I was doing you a favor.
00:15:49In the future, if you permit it, I prefer to handle my own affairs.
00:15:52Yeah, that's gratitude for you.
00:15:54Now, relax. I know the setup.
00:15:55Setup?
00:15:56Now, listen.
00:15:57I'm willing to do anything I can to help you, but you might try to help a little yourself.
00:15:59I really don't know what you're talking about.
00:16:02Well, you don't, huh?
00:16:08This is what I'm talking about.
00:16:09What's so funny?
00:16:10You mean that all the time you thought I was this girl?
00:16:19Yeah, I still do.
00:16:21And you tried to help me in spite of it?
00:16:25That's really very sweet of you.
00:16:27Yeah, I'm adorable.
00:16:28Sorry to have to solve the baffling mystery, Dr. Watson, but you see, I'm not that girl.
00:16:35I'm this girl.
00:16:36Pardon me. Jack, a message came through from Waller.
00:16:45Said that Miss Rollins is okay.
00:16:47Need to apologize to her and give her back her ring.
00:16:49Yeah, I know all that.
00:16:53So you're this Miss Rollins, huh?
00:16:56Isn't asking too much.
00:16:57Do you mind telling me who your gun-toting friend is?
00:16:59He's not a gangster.
00:17:00Millie, a man I knew in Paris.
00:17:02Oh, nice friends.
00:17:04Says here you socked some Russian duke over the head with an umbrella in a Paris nightclub and...
00:17:08Yeah, I read all that.
00:17:16Here's your ring.
00:17:17Here's your ring.
00:17:18Oh no, you keep that.
00:17:19How's the agreement?
00:17:21Have it your way.
00:17:23Now on behalf of myself and management of the airlines, may I offer my apology?
00:17:27Oh, it isn't necessary.
00:17:28You know, you're really a very nice man.
00:17:32Do you mind not rubbing it in?
00:17:34It makes me feel like a little girl again.
00:17:37When I believe in knights and damsels in distress.
00:17:41I left my armor at home, it hurts my shin.
00:17:43Ha ha ha.
00:17:46Straight message.
00:17:5387 cents, please.
00:17:54Walter!
00:17:55Oh!
00:17:56Can't you see Walter?
00:17:57Oh!
00:17:58I guess I've been reading too many tabloids, taking you for a bandit queen.
00:17:59That shows you how much I know about women.
00:18:00Lack of experience, that's my trouble.
00:18:01Not a usual disorder of you gentlemen of the air, is it?
00:18:02Well, you see, this flying's a pretty lonely sort of business.
00:18:03Here and there and on again.
00:18:04Ah, I know.
00:18:05I know.
00:18:06Hermit of the clouds.
00:18:07Well, sort of.
00:18:08You get way off up there alone, and well, it seems an awfully long way down to parties
00:18:11and girls and human contact.
00:18:12Jackie!
00:18:13Baby!
00:18:15Jackie!
00:18:16Jackie!
00:18:17Jackie!
00:18:19Jackie!
00:18:20Jackie!
00:18:21Jackie!
00:18:23Jackie!
00:18:24Jackie!
00:18:25Jackie!
00:18:26Jackie!
00:18:27Jackie!
00:18:28Jackie!
00:18:29Jackie!
00:18:30Jackie!
00:18:31Jackie!
00:18:32Jackie!
00:18:33Jackie!
00:18:34Jackie!
00:18:35You old spare part of an aeroplane.
00:18:36Gosh!
00:18:37I'm glad to see you.
00:18:38Hello, Trixie.
00:18:39Uh, hello.
00:18:40Uh...
00:18:41Keeping well?
00:18:42Never better.
00:18:43Gus told me you were coming through, so I simply tore out of bed and simply flew over
00:18:48here.
00:18:49Is that true, love, or is it?
00:18:53Miss Trixie, this is...
00:18:54I mean...
00:18:55Miss Rollins, this is Trixie.
00:18:57Miss Trixie...
00:18:58Le Bray.
00:18:59How do you do?
00:19:00Le Bray.
00:19:01Uh, terribly glad to know you, Miss Rollins.
00:19:03Uh...
00:19:04A friend of Jack's, a friend of mine, I always say.
00:19:07Uh...
00:19:08Honestly, the last time I saw this one, he was up on the table doing defending.
00:19:13I never did find out how I got home that night.
00:19:15I guess I must have flown in through a window.
00:19:20Apparently we're leaving.
00:19:21Excuse me.
00:19:22Bye.
00:19:24Well, I gotta go too, Trixie.
00:19:25I'll...
00:19:26Oh, can't you stay over?
00:19:27No, I can't, Honest.
00:19:28I gotta go.
00:19:29Okay, no hot feelings.
00:19:30Drop down on the way back.
00:19:31Yeah, I'll do that.
00:19:34Goodbye, Trixie.
00:19:35Take care of yourself.
00:19:36Yeah, I will.
00:19:37Goodbye.
00:19:38Don't do anything I wouldn't do.
00:19:46I didn't know you had an aunt in Chicago.
00:19:48Well, that was Trixie.
00:19:49I used to know her.
00:19:50Oh, you used to know her?
00:19:51Then why was she so formal?
00:19:52She was raised by a maiden uncle.
00:19:54Everybody aboard?
00:19:55No.
00:19:56Mr. Baltimore Pit isn't here.
00:19:57Oh, I'll get him.
00:20:03Come on, Newsom.
00:20:04We're flying.
00:20:08Let me get down, you pig.
00:20:09Nice job.
00:20:15Why don't you pick on somebody in your own spine, young bug?
00:20:23Now sit there, will you?
00:20:25Let's go.
00:20:46Who's the new customer?
00:20:48Count Gregory Stefani.
00:20:50How'd he get here?
00:20:55A new way, dear.
00:20:56He just sat down and we built the plane around him.
00:20:59Listen, brother, I don't know why you're here and I don't care, but I'm going to give you a few of the rules.
00:21:15Oh, that would be charming.
00:21:16Rule number one, don't annoy the passengers, particularly Miss Rollins.
00:21:19Perhaps Miss Rollins might decide that.
00:21:20It's already decided.
00:21:21You lay off, understand?
00:21:22And, uh, what else?
00:21:24The cannon.
00:21:25Cannon?
00:21:26Yeah, cannon.
00:21:27Cap this little gun, I want it.
00:21:28Oh.
00:21:29What for?
00:21:30Because if I don't get it, you'll ride as far as Omaha, no further.
00:21:32Say, what is this, a game?
00:21:33Let's play it this way.
00:21:34You keep the bullets and I'll keep the gun.
00:21:35How'll that be?
00:21:36No, a second thought, you keep the bullets and I'll throw the gun overboard.
00:21:37That'll be even better.
00:22:03Maybe it's none of my business, but who is that guy that got on in Chicago?
00:22:09His name's Tafani. Why?
00:22:12How come he had a gun?
00:22:14On account of they told him there were Indians at Omaha.
00:22:33I don't know.
00:23:03Oh, dear, Waldemar, just look at your hair.
00:23:17Turn around.
00:23:25Oh, Waldemar.
00:23:33Good morning.
00:23:35Did you enjoy your bath?
00:23:38Oh, yes, thanks.
00:23:40Are you on time?
00:23:45Five minutes ahead.
00:23:47I don't have to ask about the weather.
00:23:49It looks lovely.
00:23:50Well, we're on the subject of looking lovely.
00:23:51How do you do it so early and at such an altitude?
00:23:54With a lot of bottles and a grim determination.
00:23:59Can I look?
00:24:02Thanks.
00:24:04Gee, Rizmus, I look like a bad case of embalming.
00:24:07May I?
00:24:08Yes.
00:24:09You can kind of hide this foliage behind the smoke screen.
00:24:12Maybe not.
00:24:13Is it that bad?
00:24:14Thanks.
00:24:19Say, you don't mind if I kind of keep an eye on you today, do you?
00:24:24I don't think it'll be necessary.
00:24:27I tossed his gun overboard, and I told him to keep strictly away from you.
00:24:32Don't you think it would be better if you let me handle this my own way?
00:24:34Okay, by me, but if you need any help, just holler.
00:24:39District number five.
00:24:41Chicago to South Lake.
00:24:43Arriving gate number one.
00:24:45Come on, hangover.
00:24:46That's us.
00:24:47More coffee?
00:24:48Please.
00:24:50How long are we staying in Omaha?
00:24:5120 minutes.
00:24:53Come on, Miss Hopkins.
00:24:54We're here.
00:24:56Waldemar.
00:24:57Waldemar.
00:24:58Oh, pardon me.
00:25:00Waldemar!
00:25:04Waldemar!
00:25:10Waldemar!
00:25:13Pie for breakfast makes little boys restless.
00:25:18Miss Dr. Everett, she must fly a lot.
00:25:20He seems so at ease on a plane.
00:25:22It's possible.
00:25:23Hasn't he ever taken this trip before?
00:25:27He might have.
00:25:28I've never seen him before.
00:25:31Hmm.
00:25:34Well, I guess I'll go over and get a magazine.
00:25:38Anything to break the monotony of the trip.
00:25:40That's right.
00:25:44What a big nose you have, Grandmother.
00:25:49Wait a minute, Phyllis.
00:25:50I tell you, she isn't on any train.
00:25:52Can't you believe me?
00:25:53I'm not even trying to, Gregory.
00:25:54You're wasting your time.
00:25:55Well, I've plenty of her to waste.
00:25:57You've always been good at that.
00:25:59May I speak to you a moment?
00:26:00Sure.
00:26:01I'm sorry to bother you, but, well, I need a little help right away.
00:26:04As for instance?
00:26:04I want to find out for sure if there's certain girls aboard the Overland Limited going through Salt Lake this morning.
00:26:09Oh, it's a cinch.
00:26:10What time does it get there?
00:26:11Eight o'clock.
00:26:12That's the same as nine here, isn't it?
00:26:13We'll have to hurry.
00:26:14Come on.
00:26:15What's the girl's name?
00:26:16I don't know.
00:26:16You don't know?
00:26:17I mean, I don't know what name she's traveling under.
00:26:19I'm sure she isn't using her own.
00:26:20Well, do you know what she looks like?
00:26:21Oh, yes.
00:26:22Okay, we'll find her.
00:26:23Okay.
00:26:27Papa's brother, Mason Elk Eagle, and Moose to every breakman of the Salt Lake Division.
00:26:30All right, what does she look like?
00:26:34Nineteen, slender, my height.
00:26:36Wait a minute, wait a minute.
00:26:36Nineteen, slender.
00:26:38Your height.
00:26:39Small.
00:26:40Blue eyes, brown hair, and a little scar on the left cheek.
00:26:45Oh, the scar cinches it.
00:26:46She's aboard.
00:26:47Papa will find her.
00:26:48Send that out straight for me, will you, honey?
00:26:49Thank you so much.
00:26:50That's all right.
00:26:51A little toast and coffee, maybe?
00:26:53Toast and coffee, absolutely.
00:26:54Last night you told me you didn't drink coffee.
00:26:56That was last night.
00:27:02Oh, hello, dearie.
00:27:04You staying over tonight?
00:27:05Well, you don't have to look so huffy.
00:27:07The last time you were here, we went round and round.
00:27:09Toast and coffee for two, please.
00:27:10Oh.
00:27:11Ham and eggs, wheat cakes, and maple syrup?
00:27:13Oh, I wouldn't have the cakes.
00:27:15They're leathery this morning.
00:27:16And besides, it ain't real maple syrup.
00:27:18You'll just send it back.
00:27:19Everybody does.
00:27:20Coffee and toast, please.
00:27:21And yours?
00:27:22Ham and eggs over easy.
00:27:23Ham and eggs over easy, a stack.
00:27:28All right, what's her real name?
00:27:31Well, don't you know?
00:27:32Oh, I mean the girl on the train.
00:27:34Oh.
00:27:36Well, it's none of your business,
00:27:38but her name's Catherine Rollins.
00:27:39She's my sister.
00:27:40Oh.
00:27:48Of course, it isn't any of my business,
00:27:50but that guy Stefani, he...
00:27:52Well, he doesn't seem like a...
00:27:54He doesn't seem like a very...
00:27:55He isn't.
00:27:57I didn't think he was.
00:28:00Of course, it isn't any of my business, but...
00:28:01No, it isn't.
00:28:02But why should a nice girl like...
00:28:04Well, why should a nice girl like you...
00:28:06It still is none of your business.
00:28:09Okay.
00:28:09You win.
00:28:13But if you need any help, just holler...
00:28:14Just holler.
00:28:15I'll make a note of it.
00:28:17Oh, boy, a bullseye!
00:28:35Oh, I'm so sorry.
00:28:36I...
00:28:37Since we fail to have breakfast no more,
00:28:46how about our having dinner tonight in Frisco?
00:28:48So you can win your $2 bet?
00:28:53Oh, Bob, I and I are always kidding each other like that.
00:28:56You must have lots of fun together.
00:29:04Well, I suppose that's that.
00:29:06No, not necessarily.
00:29:08You mean you will?
00:29:10I'll make a bargain with you.
00:29:11What's that?
00:29:12You get me to San Francisco tonight,
00:29:13and I'll have dinner with you tomorrow night.
00:29:15And if I don't?
00:29:15I won't.
00:29:16Why?
00:29:17I just won't.
00:29:19Oh, there's a slumber.
00:29:27Salt Lake doesn't look so pleasant.
00:29:29I'll say it doesn't.
00:29:31Looks like quite a party up ahead.
00:29:34Gordon's going to have a lot of fun.
00:29:40Do you think your friend, Mr. Andrews, will be here all right?
00:29:42Bob, sure, he'll be here.
00:29:46There he is now, coming out the door.
00:29:52Waldemar!
00:29:54Waldemar!
00:29:55How many times have I told you
00:29:57stately taste means bodily grace?
00:30:05Hello, Jack.
00:30:06Hi, you old smoke eater.
00:30:07Did you get my wire?
00:30:08Yeah, I got it all right.
00:30:09Uh, Miss Rollins, Bob Banders.
00:30:11How do you do, Miss Banders?
00:30:11I knew.
00:30:12How about it, Bob?
00:30:12Was she aboard?
00:30:13Yeah, she was aboard.
00:30:14The initials on her bag was KLR.
00:30:17Is she all right?
00:30:18Well, thanks, Bob.
00:30:19We only have a few minutes here, and I have to get into my monkey suit.
00:30:22Take care of Miss Rollins, will you, Bob?
00:30:23Hmm.
00:30:24You expected her to get off.
00:30:26She fooled you.
00:30:27She went right on.
00:30:28Was she alone?
00:30:28No, no, she was walking up and down with a sort of foreign-looking fellow.
00:30:33That train gets to San Francisco at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning, doesn't it?
00:30:35Yeah, if she's on time.
00:30:37And we get there at 2.15 this afternoon.
00:30:39If nothing happens, you do.
00:30:40You don't think we'll be delayed?
00:30:42Well, there's heavy snowstorms to the north, coming this way.
00:30:46I can tell by my bunion.
00:30:48Where's the telegraph office?
00:30:49Inside the desk.
00:30:51Wait a minute, Felice.
00:30:51I can explain all that.
00:30:52You can't explain anything.
00:30:54But, Felice, look, you got me all wrong.
00:30:57I finally...
00:31:18Hey.
00:31:19Miss Harkins on 342 is lying down in the ladies' room.
00:31:22Don't forget her.
00:31:23I won't.
00:31:25Got the mail for me?
00:31:26Sure is.
00:31:34Hey, hey, hey.
00:31:37How are they coming, Doc?
00:31:39Everything seems pleasant, thanks.
00:31:42Did you say your office was in New York City?
00:31:45Yes.
00:31:47I used to know about a Dr. Everts on Medicine Avenue.
00:31:52You're the same one?
00:31:54I never had an office on Madison.
00:31:57I just wondered.
00:32:02May I?
00:32:04Yes.
00:32:13Come on, let's talk to Elko.
00:32:14Big bad company will get you if you don't watch out.
00:32:21Oh, hello, Jack.
00:32:23Come on in.
00:32:23It's all right.
00:32:24Looked all right to me.
00:32:28You want to try one?
00:32:29What are you doing?
00:32:30Passing them out?
00:32:31It's an old Spanish custom.
00:32:32You know, to kiss the bride.
00:32:34No.
00:32:36Well, Bert.
00:32:37You two mugs, when was it?
00:32:39No, it wasn't.
00:32:39It will be.
00:32:39As soon as we get to San Francisco.
00:32:41Well, then I got another kiss coming.
00:32:42It's the only bride to be.
00:32:43Oh, no, you don't.
00:32:43What's the matter?
00:32:44Are you afraid I'll show you up?
00:32:45Hey, Pete, come here and kiss the bride.
00:32:46Oh.
00:32:48Well, well, well.
00:32:50Congratulations, Ann.
00:32:53Nice work, fella.
00:32:54He didn't do the work.
00:32:56I did.
00:32:56That's good enough.
00:33:12We can climb through that stuff and stay on top till we get there.
00:33:15I've seen some clouds so thick, Professor Picard couldn't climb through them.
00:33:18You can always follow the railroad tracks, you know.
00:33:20I'll pick up the last minute reports before I go.
00:33:23Come on, you two.
00:33:24Can you tell me where I could find Jack Gordon?
00:33:25Have you seen Jack Gordon, Bill?
00:33:27I don't think he went upstairs.
00:33:29He's in the palace locker room, just around the corner at the top of the stairs.
00:33:33You're welcome.
00:33:41Well, say, I'd like to talk to you.
00:33:44Well, make it snappy.
00:33:45I've got a lot of things to do.
00:33:46How'd you like to make $5,000?
00:33:48I'd love it.
00:33:49How many people do I have?
00:33:50Oh, no, nothing like that.
00:33:51Well, what then?
00:33:52Come over here.
00:33:53Now, I've just seen the report.
00:33:56The weather ahead is very bad.
00:33:58That's right.
00:33:59Very well.
00:34:00Now, suppose you were forced down, away from the railroad, and you couldn't get started again,
00:34:04say, until tomorrow morning.
00:34:08Weather couldn't possibly harm anybody.
00:34:10Oh, naturally, I'd expect you to take a safe field away from the railroad.
00:34:15The bad weather would give you a logical excuse.
00:34:17$5,000 is a lot of dough.
00:34:19I could use it.
00:34:20And the answer is, sir?
00:34:22The answer is, you can take your $5,000 and get a change into nickels and grab a ride in a roller coaster.
00:34:30Mr. Gordon.
00:34:31I saw you talking to Gregory.
00:34:36What do you want?
00:34:36Oh, just a little matter of $5,000 for making a forced landing between here and Frisco.
00:34:40You mustn't do it.
00:34:41You wouldn't dare.
00:34:42Say, listen, lady.
00:34:43I've been pushing mail and passengers through since they gave up covered wagons.
00:34:46My record for trying to get through is perfect, and I'm not going to spoil it now.
00:34:49I'm sorry.
00:34:49I shouldn't have said that.
00:34:50You've been perfectly swelled.
00:34:53Well, I guess I'm a sap for not doing it.
00:34:55$5,000 is a lot of coconuts.
00:34:57Can't you do something about him?
00:34:58Complain.
00:34:58Have him held.
00:34:59Oh, don't worry about him.
00:35:01You'd do anything to keep me from getting there.
00:35:04I'll fix that.
00:35:05You can abort the plane.
00:35:11Follow me.
00:35:22I, uh, I just got the latest dope in the weather.
00:35:26Naturally, I had to play straight in the office there.
00:35:28Yeah?
00:35:29Well, it's pretty bad.
00:35:30It's bad enough to give me an alibi in case I had to sit down.
00:35:32You mean, uh...
00:35:33I mean that, uh...
00:35:36Come on this side here, or we can talk it over.
00:35:48I've got nothing to lose.
00:35:50I'm going to take you up on that proposition.
00:35:51Well, now that's more sensible.
00:35:57Wait a minute.
00:36:05Hey, open this door!
00:36:07Hey, what's the idea?
00:36:08Yeah, I'm not getting here.
00:36:10Open this door, somebody.
00:36:12Hey!
00:36:12Stepani doesn't live here anymore.
00:36:17He accidentally locked himself in the, uh...
00:36:18He locked himself in.
00:36:20Thanks.
00:36:23Scott for Gordon.
00:36:24Three, four, two.
00:36:26Testing with Salt Lake.
00:36:27Okay, Scott.
00:36:30Sounds fine.
00:36:32Barometer, 29, 56.
00:36:34Wind, northeast, 25.
00:36:36And gusty.
00:36:37All set?
00:36:52Yeah.
00:36:53All the passengers aboard?
00:36:55Okey-doke.
00:36:56Let's save here.
00:36:57Call him.
00:37:17It's going to be bumpy ahead, sissy. You better keep an eye on things.
00:37:29All right. By the way, Mr. Stefani said to tell you that he decided not to go by train after all.
00:37:35He'd much rather fly with you.
00:37:36Stefani?
00:37:47Gordon, 342 to Salt Lake. Three miles north of Wendover. Clear here, but heavy overcast ahead.
00:38:04What is Elko?
00:38:05Go ahead.
00:38:08Salt Lake to Gordon, 342. Elko, ceiling 200. Snow flurries. Visibility one-half mile.
00:38:16Wind northwest 25.
00:38:19Okay.
00:38:22Not so hot.
00:38:24One word, my boy, it stinks.
00:38:29Oh!
00:38:32Boy, a pretty one.
00:38:34All your hats, everybody. Here we go for a double low.
00:38:37Did we hit something?
00:38:38Everything's all right. Just a little bump.
00:38:40Better go back and see if Van needs any help.
00:38:46You're not going right on into that storm, are you?
00:38:54Don't worry. Everything's perfectly all right.
00:38:55I won't stand for it. It's suicide.
00:38:56There's absolutely no danger.
00:38:58There's no sense taking such chances. We should insist to turn right back.
00:39:01But we can't turn back.
00:39:02Waldemar's mother would sue.
00:39:06Everything okay back there?
00:39:07Yeah.
00:39:08Yeah.
00:39:08What do you think?
00:39:13I think it's snowing.
00:39:15Profit, huh?
00:39:18You think it'll open up?
00:39:21I think you better climb some before we kiss a mountain, Tom.
00:39:24I think maybe you're right.
00:39:32Jack, come here, quick.
00:39:33What's the matter?
00:39:34This fella's gone crazy.
00:39:37Take it a minute.
00:39:39I'll take care of that cockroach.
00:39:42Do something quick.
00:39:44You gotta go back.
00:39:45You gotta go back.
00:39:47You'll kill us all.
00:39:49I can't stand it.
00:39:50If you don't come back, I'll jump out.
00:39:53Hey, you cut the comedy.
00:39:55Comedy. Comedy.
00:39:57You're trying to kill us and you call it comedy.
00:39:59Oh, boy, oh, boy, oh, boy, oh, boy, oh, boy, a bullseye.
00:40:04I'll take care of him.
00:40:08You go back where you belong.
00:40:12Second one wasn't necessary.
00:40:14What did you want me to do?
00:40:16Kiss him?
00:40:19What happened?
00:40:21Funny got funny.
00:40:22Palmer knocked him cold.
00:40:24And we better land and get rid of him?
00:40:25Land my eye.
00:40:27We have to get rid of him.
00:40:27We'll push him overboard.
00:40:28Come on.
00:40:29Come on.
00:40:29Come on.
00:40:29Come on.
00:40:34Gordon, 342 to Salt Lake.
00:40:37Gordon, 342 to Salt Lake.
00:40:41Requesting Alcox weather.
00:40:44Alcox closed in.
00:40:45Return to Salt Lake or land at the nearest emergency field.
00:40:49Now, wait a minute, Pete.
00:40:49This looks like it might clear up a bit.
00:40:51Return to Salt Lake or land at the nearest emergency field.
00:40:55Okay.
00:40:56Coming back.
00:40:59Get on your pants and feet, baby.
00:41:01We're going home.
00:41:01You mean get all home, sweet home.
00:41:12You're turning around.
00:41:13Correct.
00:41:14You can't do it.
00:41:16Please, you'll have to get out of here.
00:41:17You said you'd go through.
00:41:20Take it.
00:41:21I said I'd try to get through.
00:41:23It can't be done.
00:41:24I'm not going to risk killing everyone just to satisfy you.
00:41:26You're yellow.
00:41:27All right, I'm yellow.
00:41:29Now go back and sit down and be a nice little girl.
00:41:31I won't do it.
00:41:32I'll stay here until you're heading towards San Francisco again.
00:41:34Scram.
00:41:37I'll sock you in the teeth, so help me.
00:41:38What's the matter with Beulah?
00:41:50Her name's police.
00:41:52Then what's the matter with police?
00:41:54None of your business.
00:41:58Well, if they start naming planes like Pullman cars, they can call this one the squirrel cage special.
00:42:03No, she's a pain in the neck.
00:42:05Yellow, huh?
00:42:06Because I won't risk nine people's lives, her own included.
00:42:09Well, all right, so what?
00:42:11I know just how she feels, though.
00:42:14Once I start, I hate to turn back myself.
00:42:17Sure hate to turn back.
00:42:18I wonder if I could sneak through to the south.
00:42:29Now listen, little boy.
00:42:30You better go back the way they told you to.
00:42:31Gordon, 3-4-2 to Salt Lake.
00:42:40Gordon, 3-4-2 to Salt Lake.
00:42:43Just a pushover for a blonde.
00:42:46Three miles south of Shafter.
00:42:48The weather's breaking to the south.
00:42:50I'm going to try it again.
00:42:51Oh, he's turning back.
00:43:01All right, I know.
00:43:04All right, but if it's bad in the south, I'll come back.
00:43:08All right, wait a minute.
00:43:10Take it.
00:43:14Go ahead.
00:43:14Personal message for Dr. Everts.
00:43:20Patient just died.
00:43:21Committee will meet you in San Francisco.
00:43:24Dr. Gulliver.
00:43:26Okay.
00:43:37Dr. Everts.
00:43:39Okay.
00:43:44This just came for you, doctor.
00:43:48This just came for you, doctor.
00:44:14This is the place.
00:44:32I sneaked through here two or three times before when you couldn't make it further north.
00:44:35It's no good.
00:44:47We're going back.
00:44:52Where is he going now?
00:44:55It's all right.
00:44:55We're just turning around.
00:45:01Too late.
00:45:02We're caught.
00:45:05We're sitting down.
00:45:07Where?
00:45:08That field's right ahead.
00:45:10There's no field.
00:45:11That's a bath, then.
00:45:12There's going to be a field from now on.
00:45:14Tunnel we're landing.
00:45:20Scott, Gordon, 342 to Salt Lake.
00:45:23Mayday.
00:45:24Mayday.
00:45:26To all stations, emergency.
00:45:27Keep the air clear.
00:45:30Go ahead, Gordon.
00:45:31Landing a strange field.
00:45:33Exact position unknown.
00:45:34Detail's later.
00:45:35Detail's later.
00:45:35Detail's later.
00:45:35Detail's later.
00:45:54Willows!
00:45:55Oh, dear.
00:46:10Why don't somebody stop him?
00:46:25Why don't somebody stop him?
00:46:55Why don't somebody stop him?
00:47:25Well, my boy, here we are.
00:47:27Wherever he is, there's certainly a good way to come.
00:47:30Oh, we can get out of here.
00:47:32Yeah, three months from now on snowshoes.
00:47:34Well, thanks for saving me a lot of money.
00:47:41Everything's all right, folks.
00:47:44The weather closed in on us, and I thought it best to land and wait for it to clear.
00:47:47Do you know where we are?
00:47:48Well, not exactly.
00:47:49Well, then we're lost.
00:47:50Oh, no, we're not lost.
00:47:51No, we're not lost.
00:47:52We just don't know where we are.
00:47:54Right, boy.
00:47:55Oh, I suppose you had to land.
00:47:57You don't think I'd have plopped down in this cow corral unless I had to, do you?
00:48:00Not even for $5,000?
00:48:02You go take a running jump in the lake, sister.
00:48:09Of course, you realize you must make every effort to get out of here, if you can.
00:48:13You don't need to worry about that.
00:48:14Have you got enough groceries?
00:48:17Plenty of tea and coffee and some stuffer sandwiches, that's all.
00:48:20Well, go easy.
00:48:20We may need them.
00:48:22And, uh, hey, hey, hey, you better close the ventilators and pass out the blankets.
00:48:27Okay.
00:48:28Looks like we're in for a long winter evening.
00:49:14I'd like a word with you.
00:49:17Okay.
00:49:19I've got to talk fast.
00:49:21You fellas are federal employees.
00:49:24So am I.
00:49:29Did you ever hear of a fella by the name of Hales, alias Flasker?
00:49:32Yeah.
00:49:33You mean the guy that held up those New Jersey banks and killed a couple of cops?
00:49:36Yeah.
00:49:37Palmer.
00:49:39Well, that's why Grandmother has such a big nose.
00:49:42I was trailing him because we heard his partner was in Frisco.
00:49:45That just died message means they've picked him up in Brooklyn.
00:49:50I can put the handcuffs on him now, but I'm not taking any chances.
00:49:53He's a killer, and I don't want anyone to get hurt.
00:49:55He can't get away from you through this, though.
00:49:57He's free to death.
00:49:58Has he got a gun?
00:49:59And he won't mind using it.
00:50:00How about gathering some firewood and keeping war?
00:50:25He'll help?
00:50:29Yeah.
00:50:30Good idea.
00:50:34I'll call Pete and tell him we're okay.
00:50:38But he'll tell you he'll keep things warm till we get back.
00:50:48CQ calling out, I'll call.
00:50:49Go ahead.
00:50:50Out of here, youngster.
00:50:53Stroken.
00:50:53What have you done?
00:50:58Why?
00:51:01One more monkey shot out of you, and I'll kick the pants off you.
00:51:03What's happened?
00:51:04Sonny Boy smashed our radio.
00:51:05You're a liar.
00:51:06Oh, Mr. Gordon, remember, please.
00:51:08Not his game by words profane.
00:51:11The guy that shot him did a while he was outside.
00:51:13Walter, never say guy.
00:51:15Palmer, huh?
00:51:17This is a pretty kettle of fish.
00:51:19Oh, Mr. Gordon, you've got to get us out of here.
00:51:22Oh, lady, will you please shut up?
00:51:23If Baltimore catches cold, oh.
00:51:27I don't intend to conceal the facts from you.
00:51:29Our radio's out of commission, so we can't send for help.
00:51:31If we're snowed in here so we can't take off in the morning,
00:51:33we may be here for, well, several days.
00:51:35Oh, but we've got to get...
00:51:36That's what you think.
00:51:37Oh.
00:51:38Did he really mean that?
00:51:40Wait a minute.
00:52:07What's he starting those engines for?
00:52:10They're keeping from freezing.
00:52:19It's kind of complicated, isn't it?
00:52:23Well, it all seems to have turned out for the best, hasn't it?
00:52:26Your conscience is clear, and I'm in $5,000.
00:52:29Let's skip it, shall we?
00:52:30Oh, sure.
00:52:31I sort of hated to see that girl make a fool out of you.
00:52:39What do you mean, make a fool out of me?
00:52:40Very gallant.
00:52:42Very gallant of you to try to get her through on time.
00:52:45Under the circumstances.
00:52:47Go on.
00:52:49Oh, I don't suppose she told you that she was rushing to San Francisco
00:52:52to elope to China with another man.
00:52:54Or, uh, did she?
00:53:07We're gone.
00:53:10Oh, Mr. Gordon, someone's shooting.
00:53:11Oh, Mr. Gordon, someone's shooting.
00:53:11Ready?
00:53:31Ready?
00:53:36Ready?
00:53:36Ready?
00:53:37Ready?
00:53:41What happened?
00:54:03Shot.
00:54:04The bat?
00:54:05I don't know.
00:54:07Hurts like blazes.
00:54:10Where's Freddy?
00:54:12Palmer shot him, too.
00:54:14Through the head.
00:54:18Where's your gun?
00:54:20Palmer got it.
00:54:22Freddy's, too.
00:54:28What are you doing here?
00:54:29Get back to the plane.
00:54:30Why don't you...
00:54:31I thought maybe I could be some help.
00:54:32What happened?
00:54:33Palmer shot Everton Freddy.
00:54:36Freddy?
00:54:37Shot?
00:54:40Freddy?
00:54:40Freddy?
00:54:41Freddy?
00:54:43Freddy?
00:54:43Anne!
00:54:44Anne, come back here.
00:54:45Oh, you're a weird.
00:54:46Here, take care.
00:54:49Freddy?
00:54:51Freddy?
00:54:52Anne, come back here.
00:54:54I've got the bar.
00:54:55Freddy, let me go.
00:54:56They're going back to the plane.
00:54:57We've got enough trouble
00:54:58without you getting locked.
00:54:59Trouble.
00:55:00You've got trouble.
00:55:02Anne, stop it.
00:55:03That's a good one.
00:55:05That's very lying out there, darling.
00:55:07Anne!
00:55:07I need you, Dad.
00:55:12Man, you've got to stop it.
00:55:13I need you, Dad.
00:55:14I need you, Dad.
00:55:14Man, you've got to stop it.
00:55:15That's a good one.
00:55:19I'll go back and help take care of Dr. Everton.
00:55:25I'll go and find Precious.
00:55:26Come on, Doctor.
00:55:27Come on, Doctor.
00:55:42Freddy!
00:55:47Freddy!
00:55:48Freddy!
00:55:57I don't feel when you got shot.
00:56:06Oh, Waldemar, shut up.
00:56:07Mr. Waldemar.
00:56:08Freddy, he found him.
00:56:09Take a seat, quick.
00:56:15Freddy.
00:56:17Freddy.
00:56:18You'll be all right, Ann.
00:56:19Oh, he's dead.
00:56:20Take it easy.
00:56:21I know he's dead.
00:56:27Get some pillows, Ann.
00:56:42Is he dead?
00:56:43No, but we've got to work fast.
00:56:45Get some water.
00:56:46Freddy.
00:56:48Freddy.
00:56:50Oh, I'll get it.
00:56:53Here, stop that.
00:56:54Take this.
00:56:57Will I be all right?
00:57:14Yeah, he'll be all right.
00:57:16What did Palmer do after he shot you and Freddy?
00:57:18Took both of our guns and vamoosed.
00:57:21Has anybody got a gun?
00:57:23Yeah, I have one.
00:57:24Oh, he'll come back and shoot us.
00:57:27I know it.
00:57:27I know it.
00:57:28I'm so nervous, I could jump right out of my skin.
00:57:31Go ahead, lady.
00:57:31We'll make a rug out of it.
00:57:32Oh, look.
00:57:34Look, he's coming out of it.
00:57:36He'll be all right now, Freddy.
00:57:37Let me hold his head from the back.
00:57:43You better pass out some hot coffee.
00:57:46You all right, Doc?
00:57:47I'm fine.
00:57:48I'm going forward.
00:57:49I'm going forward.
00:57:49I'll look to Gordon 3-4-2.
00:58:16Salt Lake to Gordon 3-4-2.
00:58:29Gordon 3-4-2 to Salt Lake.
00:58:31Salt Lake to Gordon 3-4-2.
00:58:34Gordon 3-4-2 to Salt Lake.
00:58:39Salt Lake to Gordon 3-4-2.
00:58:41Go ahead, Gordon.
00:58:43What's your position?
00:58:44Now, why don't you answer?
00:58:47Oh, how can I, you idiot?
00:58:52Oh, yeah?
00:58:53Well, how would you like a massage right on the button?
00:59:01I want you to know I feel terribly sorry and entirely responsible for all this.
00:59:05Now, forget it.
00:59:05These things just happened.
00:59:06No, I kept egging you on, urging you to take chances, but it meant so much that I...
00:59:10You must be kind of crazy about this guy in San Francisco.
00:59:12What guy in San Francisco?
00:59:15Ah, skip it.
00:59:15It's none of my business.
00:59:16No, we won't skip it.
00:59:22What did Stefani tell you?
00:59:24Oh, he made a couple of cracks.
00:59:25All right, now I'm going to make a couple of cracks.
00:59:27Don't bother.
00:59:27I'm going to adjust the same.
00:59:29Shortly after I became engaged to that Russian you read about in the paper, I found out that
00:59:34he was, well, a rat.
00:59:36Listen, you don't have to...
00:59:37Shut up.
00:59:37After I broke our engagement, he came to America.
00:59:40Somehow, he met my sister.
00:59:42She's only a kid.
00:59:43She fell for all that la-di-da.
00:59:46Worse.
00:59:47I arrived home yesterday and found that they left to San Francisco two days ago.
00:59:50I've got to stop them.
00:59:51Their happiness means a great deal to me.
00:59:53She marries that...
00:59:56They're supposed to sail for Honolulu tomorrow at noon unless...
01:00:00And that's Scallion back there?
01:00:02He's the brother.
01:00:03They'd do anything to stop me.
01:00:04Kay means a lot of money to them.
01:00:06Oh, gee, I'm glad.
01:00:07I mean, I'm glad at your sister.
01:00:10I don't mean I'm glad at your sister.
01:00:12Well, the outlook doesn't look particularly bright at the moment, but...
01:00:15If there's any chance of getting you to the coast on time tomorrow, I...
01:00:18I'll do it.
01:00:20You must hate me for all the trouble I've caused.
01:00:23That's the funny part of it.
01:00:24I don't.
01:00:26You know, that agreement of ours?
01:00:28That if I got you to San Francisco on time, we'd have dinner together?
01:00:31Mm-hmm.
01:00:32Well, you suppose you could extend that time limit?
01:00:36Let's wait and see what time we get there.
01:00:38Oh, we'll have plank steak smothered in onions and hash browns.
01:00:41And top it off with apple pie.
01:00:43Ah, that's done it.
01:00:44Did you see it?
01:00:45See what?
01:00:46I mean that light.
01:00:47What light?
01:00:48It came and went a couple of times like a fire or a match.
01:00:51No, it was over on this side.
01:00:56I don't see anything.
01:00:57Do you suppose it was Palmer?
01:01:00Oh, no.
01:01:00It was just the house dick putting out the cat.
01:01:02Do you think he'll try to get back?
01:01:03Hey, he's a cinch.
01:01:05Our only chance is to get off in the morning before he shows up.
01:01:07And if he gets here first?
01:01:10I'd give my left arm if I had a gun.
01:01:16Say, how's your nerve?
01:01:17I think it'll get by.
01:01:18That's great, because we're going to give it a workout.
01:01:20Go in the cabin.
01:01:20Here, do you see this?
01:01:28I got some of this stuff in my eyes once, and I couldn't see or breathe.
01:01:30It squirts yards like a gun.
01:01:31He'll never give you a chance to use it.
01:01:33Well, not me, maybe.
01:01:34But he won't be watching you.
01:01:35Oh.
01:01:36Now, if the party gets rough, you sit in your seat and hide it under your coat.
01:01:39Then I'll maneuver him into position, and you let him have it.
01:01:41You think you can do it?
01:01:42I can try.
01:01:43Good girl.
01:01:44Good girl.
01:02:14Wake up, Ann.
01:02:25How do you feel, boy?
01:02:26Oh, he's a lot better.
01:02:29Do you think we can get out of here?
01:02:31I'm going to try.
01:02:32Here, I'll help.
01:02:32No, Freddy, no.
01:02:33Don't cross your luck, Freddy.
01:02:34Stay quiet.
01:02:36I'm all right, Jack.
01:02:37Sure you're all right, but I can manage.
01:02:39Any sign of Palmer?
01:02:40Nope.
01:02:41All right with you if we leave him here?
01:02:44Don't just, don't just, don't.
01:03:00It's all right.
01:03:00It's all right.
01:03:01It's morning.
01:03:01We're pushing off.
01:03:23Was it clear enough?
01:03:24I think so.
01:03:42Hey, you!
01:03:43Kurt!
01:03:43Palmer!
01:03:44Keep down out of sight.
01:03:45All right.
01:03:52What do you want?
01:03:53Coming aboard and I'm healed.
01:03:55I don't think you've got a gun, but if you have, forget it.
01:03:57Well, let's cut out the shooting.
01:03:58There's been enough already.
01:03:59There's going to be more if you talk out of turn.
01:04:01Quick now.
01:04:10What?
01:04:10The fire extinguisher.
01:04:15Get in your seat.
01:04:19Who's got that fire extinguisher?
01:04:21You mean this?
01:04:23Yeah, give it here.
01:04:23Hello, everybody.
01:04:31Wintry, isn't it?
01:04:34Well, there you are and here we are.
01:04:36So what?
01:04:37This is what.
01:04:38If any of you want trouble, start it and I'll finish it.
01:04:40Okay.
01:04:53Oh, so it's you, is it?
01:04:56All right, Rallo.
01:04:57I've got some plans for you.
01:04:58In the meantime, keep that trap of yours shut.
01:04:59You've been enough trouble for one trip.
01:05:03Well, if it ain't the old specialist himself.
01:05:07How's the great American detective, Doc?
01:05:12How is he, I asked you.
01:05:13What's the matter with all of you?
01:05:17You may pull through if we get him to a hospital.
01:05:21That's one thing I'm not worried about.
01:05:23He's still alive?
01:05:41Hello, beautiful.
01:05:44Don't get on your high horse, sister.
01:05:46Plenty of swell dames have gone for me.
01:05:53What do we do now?
01:06:10Can you take off?
01:06:12I'm not sure.
01:06:13What are you starting that engine for?
01:06:17Keep the cabin warm.
01:06:19Why can't you fly out of here?
01:06:21Well, it's a small field and snow and a heavy load.
01:06:24Come on.
01:06:25Can the funny stuff.
01:06:26It's hard and smooth and downhill.
01:06:28If you can't take off from it, maybe I can.
01:06:30You'd break your neck and everybody else's.
01:06:32We won't have to worry about anybody else.
01:06:34Get out and make it snappy.
01:06:40You can't do that.
01:06:41Who says I can't?
01:06:42That kid can't live out there.
01:06:44I have an hour.
01:06:44What am I supposed to do, burst into tears?
01:06:47Get out.
01:06:48All of you.
01:06:50If they get out, this plane doesn't budge.
01:06:52Listen, if you think you've got me over a barrel because you're the only one that can fly this plane, you're crazy.
01:06:56I will if I have to.
01:06:56I'll fly you on one condition.
01:07:03These people stay in the plane.
01:07:13Okay, I'll be a sucker.
01:07:14But get this.
01:07:15You'll fly and I'll ride the co-pilot seat.
01:07:17And if you try any funny business, I'll fly the rest of the way myself.
01:07:22I get it.
01:07:23Now start them up and let's get going.
01:07:26Wait a minute.
01:07:39Who's got that fire extinguisher?
01:07:41No.
01:07:42No, not me.
01:07:55Give me that.
01:07:56So you thought you could squirt me out like a bonfire?
01:08:05If I didn't need you, you stay here.
01:08:17I'll need you for company.
01:08:20The rest of you, get out and get out quick.
01:08:22You'll be arrested for this.
01:08:24All right, sister.
01:08:24Go call a cop.
01:08:25Call a couple of cops.
01:08:26Get out.
01:08:26No.
01:08:27You can't.
01:08:28I'd as soon kill you as look at you.
01:08:30How about me?
01:08:43Get him in the mouth.
01:08:44Get him in the mouth.

01:09:46He's going for that gun.
01:09:49All right, wise guy.
01:09:50I'll fly the plane myself.
01:09:51Oh, no.
01:09:52Oh, no.
01:09:52Oh, no.
01:09:59Waldemar, I knew you'd heard of him.
01:10:01He's moving.
01:10:01Do something quick.
01:10:03Kick him.
01:10:10It's all right, dear.
01:10:11I guess he threw for a while.
01:10:13Waldemar, you were swell.
01:10:14Boy, did we fix him.
01:10:16And did you suck him.
01:10:18This trip is more darn fun.
01:10:19Tie him up, somebody, before he gets funny again.
01:10:21Handcuffs.
01:10:23My pocket.
01:10:24Now, just a moment.
01:10:24If you were...
01:10:25Listen, one more crack out of you, and you'll go places with him.
01:10:27Me?
01:10:28What have I done?
01:10:29Attempting to delay the United States mail.
01:10:31Assaulting a carrier of the United States mail.
01:10:33Attempted bribery of a post office employee.
01:10:35Carrying a gun without a permit.
01:10:36Is that enough, or do I have to dig up some more for you?

01:12:01Why, I said that.
01:12:02You said you'd have dinner with me if I got you to San Francisco by noon.
01:12:06Well, there it is.
01:12:09And now, could I interest you in a large and handsome ring?
01:12:15And a large and baddied pilot, because I'd like to return them both to their owner.
01:12:21I only own one of them.
01:12:24That's what you think.
01:12:29Well?
