03:19Actually, we came across one of my mother's x-rays.

03:33I took a picture of it, tweaked the color.

12:43fashion week you're going to be presenting three looks to the judges these looks should be among
12:48your best and show your range you're presenting to the judges tomorrow and remember you have until

13:08have no idea what to show I'm concerned for my ass it looks like a lot of work I'm worried about each of
13:14you the vibe this morning is intense we're really focused on picking the right three looks to go down

13:50Grecian draped dress and with the fans it's like it's a concept and it's an idea the love it or hate it

14:10move forward with bleaching the vest oh it looks great yeah it's what this needed to do exactly
14:19needed another dimension so if you were to prioritize three looks what are those three looks I'll figure
14:26it out but does this mean that when the models come in there's gonna be a big rush to put them
14:30into everything that's on this rack and then decide yeah okay what are you worried about well it's part of
14:38what you're concerned about seeing the other designers collections I mean that plays into
14:44it don't fill yourself with doubts and don't overthink it because that's so easy to do none
14:49of the other designers here could have made this collection it's you and that's why I want you to
14:54feel proud and confident when you present your three looks okay because the qualities here a thousand
14:59percent thank you so much Dimitri how are you trying to figure out things as of now I think that's the
15:07looks I want to show can you tell me why I think they show them range I had there you kind of tailored
15:14pieces and soft and then I have draping my concern is holding back and having the judges say but Dimitri you're
15:24competing for a place at Mercedes-Benz fashion week should we just trust on blind faith even if this
15:32collection were black and white just in this I think it would be still very strong and sharp I apologize
15:39for not standing here beaming and bursting with enthusiasm I'm worried about each of you I don't want

17:09hi how are you how are you oh my god no no I couldn't physically alter what I wanted to walk down the
17:23runway fast enough so it's basically just find things that fit
17:27oh I have a little hip
17:30so very strong eyebrows very kind of cold face like she does have an edge to her it's pretty good
17:40fuchsia or even like this one like the Sunji lip oh my god
17:45so if we just give it a nice knot I'm gonna go in with the smooth and shine cream
17:52Brazilian tribal hairs they very blunt I don't know if I love it it is a little
17:59gorilla to fill oh it's fine that's because we have no time all right designers and models we're

18:36hi everybody as you know in fashion one day you're in and the next day you're out
18:42today's runway show is a very important one for the past five weeks each of you have been working
18:51on 10 piece collections and today each of you will show us a sample based on what you show us
18:57today we will decide who will move forward to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at the Lincoln Center
19:02and who will be out okay let's say hello to the judges first we have CFDA lifetime achievement award
19:11winner Michael Kors hey guys and fashion director for Marie Claire magazine Nina Garcia hi everyone we
19:20will score your designs as they come down the runway three of you will move forward to compete at
19:25Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at the Lincoln Center and one of you will be out let's start the show
19:31the white dress is a great representation of my collection it's very clean very architectural and it's
19:50sophisticated at the same time cat looks beautiful it works for her it fits very well
19:59it's very interesting and forward and it's very much me and so happy I love the jacket and I love the skirt
20:17and the blouse it shows the variety and it shows that I have great pieces in my collection
20:25I feel very proud what I've done and I hope the judges will love it
20:37I'm showing three looks that I really like I'm using the vest that I sprinkled bleach on
20:50it looks fresh it looks new the leather shorts with the ostrich waistband looks cool
21:04it created so many different dimensions and textures with the hard chain in the back
21:16I really love this look and then I have Alex wearing the bustier that has the same leather detail as the vest
21:36for fit reasons I don't feel like I showed everything that I wanted to show but it all has the same feeling
21:43it's very cohesive I just hope it's enough
21:47oh god the draped blazer with the bustier and the blue pants is my favorite piece
21:59there's a lot of intention on everything and everything is really artisanal and hand done
22:05that's the special touch for me to whoever is going to wear this
22:09the structured draped skirt with the crop top it's very sophisticated but at the same time it looks a
22:17little bit disheveled I think her attitude and the way the skirt fit and the way that the back is just like
22:25gently flapping as she's walking is amazing and I love it
22:29the pink dress it tells the story but also it's unique and it's unexpected from me
22:36it took a lot of specific materials like the dyes and the discharge
22:44the result is absolutely amazing I am in love with that piece
22:47these three looks are just enough of a taste that will leave the judges wanting more
22:56I have decided to send lacy down in the perforated white leather shorts with the black
23:08wrap belt and the silk blouse with the attached scarf
23:11just shows the diversity of the collection
23:17we're kind of this easy casual look I want to incorporate a pants
23:25I'm choosing to pair that with a perfecto white leather jacket with a tank
23:30the last is a black dress called the obsidian dress which I kind of named my collection
23:44the final three looks I've chosen show some range however I'm not sure if it shows the
23:55wow factor to my collection the plan is that they love these three looks and they
24:01want to see more I have a lot more to show and hopefully they love all that too
24:05there are some things that we really like today but also some things that confused us
24:18let's talk about Fabio let's bring out your models tell us about your looks and how they
24:29represent your collection I decided to call my collection cosmic tribalism and my collection is not
24:35the most conventional and it's not intended to be because I think it is a show and it is fashion week yeah I
24:42love that you have a completely different point of view thank you you know I feel like I haven't seen this the way you pile so many things on top on you all the time it just works you do have a feeling for that and I almost feel like your clothes need that because it's kind of slumpy cool vibe but it's still very modern and so out there which I kind of love I'm intrigued like I think it's different
25:12I think that the necklaces and the bags are fantastic mm-hmm you know those are pieces that I haven't seen before and I love those colors this is very cool and that you took colors that are normally looked at as very kind of sweet and saccharine and sugary and certainly that's not this one oh no
25:42color I thought that yin and yang was cool and I like the demented shoes I think they're great it makes me smile I like very much the cutouts and the skirt I like that whole look there but you've got some problems in making sure that your combinations are actually balanced so that it walks out and people are like oh it's beautiful I'm curious you know don't stop
26:12stop trying you've got to keep trying outfits okay I find some of the pieces very beautiful for example that vest that's my favorite piece here's my worry with you I want your pieces to look more luxurious okay they need to look more expensive that tie-dyed tank and that pant that is really not here or there
26:38it looks really junior okay you need to make this collection much more sophisticated much more polished so that this very conceptual designs that you have are elevated okay okay we've heard what you had to say Dimitri we're gonna talk to you next tell us about your looks and how they represent your collection well I was inspired for this collection by organic architecture and especially
27:08I looked at iconic buildings like Guggenheim Museum in New York and Sydney Opera House and I wanted to create something graphic something powerful kind of geometrical but fluid and feminine at the same time well I think it looks like you've done a lot of work it looks polished it looks expensive the white dress is very beautiful can I see the back of that white dress
27:36it's really it's great it's all it's all cut out it's all of it right yeah I would push yourself a little bit more on the styling because there's some pieces that could look even better
27:51thank you you've got a lot of ideas so that it's turning out to be a little too much the styling just keep going younger keep going younger try to get cooler try to make sure that there's sex appeal
28:10I look at it and I hope that in the styling you can take it down a bit because this jacket it's great I love the shape I love the fringe on the sleeve but then over the bra with the sheer with the mesh with the uh it's a lot
28:30if you send it out with so much stuff you can't see it and the audience loses the jacket so why'd you do all the work on the jacket
28:37let the purity and simplicity of your garments shine that jacket should be on its own so you have to find your
28:48wow piece and stick it almost with something that is a little bit more boring in a way so that that will
28:53stand out more but still but not too boring yeah I know it's weird it's like the part has to be exactly
29:00the right temperature but it's true that's what it is styling is it's everything right it's everything
29:09Christopher tell us about your three looks and how they represent your collection I took my mother's x-rays
29:17blew them up into fabric which you see here and here you said they're x-rays they're x-rays blown up so
29:25this is my mother oh that's a little creepy but I think there's something haunting about it but alluring
29:33I love the colors I like the leather mixed with the beautiful fabric but I would have loved to have seen
29:39like some major major wow pieces you've got to make sure the volumes turned up enough on everything so that
29:46it looks important on the runway that little sweater and those shorts if you have the opportunity to go to
29:53Fashion Week you cannot send that down the runway imagine all the photographers at the end of the
29:58runway and they take one photo imagine this would be the photo it's so boring I don't even understand why
30:05you would show this to us today I actually think the prints are fabulous I love the brown and the black
30:13combined these two have some real impact I think though when you're doing sportswear and you're
30:21doing pieces it's up to you as a designer keep trying every possible combination okay enough that's
30:30interesting to look at so it doesn't get banal and today you didn't but I think they're beautifully done
30:38but they're very normal I am a little surprised that you went so dark and I think that what you have
30:46done with the fabrics is great but in terms of the clothes everything looks too similar but I am judging from
30:55three outfits that you chose to show us that look identical and I see very little clothes here there's I mean
31:04when I see the two out of three outfits are a pair of skimpy shorts and barely there top I'm worried that
31:14come the finale I'm going to see just no clothes I would have loved to show you my pants I would have
31:22loved to show you you know my jackets and my coats there was no time and I really feel that my collection you
31:30would have liked it but I am judging from three outfits so it worries me the good thing is yes your
31:38detail is there that's a beautiful vest I'm curious to see what else you have okay so I agree with Nina I'm
31:46worried too I don't know what else you have I mean you're saying you have all these amazing things I
31:51I just don't know why he didn't show them to us today this is the precursor to the big finale show I'm upset that I
31:59didn't wow you guys sorry
32:07Melissa tell us about your three looks and how they represent your collection these three looks I wanted to
32:12definitely put a short a pants and a dress and I really focused on texture as well just to show you
32:19what you know the diversity of the collection it's very goth it's very you there was definitely not a
32:25doubt in my mind who is the designer and then you know when you come to the individual pieces I mean I
32:30think that your hero is the black and white jacket I think that is a very cool jacket you know this dress is
32:38a very fine dress but it doesn't knock me off my chair right now mm-hmm it's almost too simple in a
32:44way what else is there I have like a gown I have a lot of other pieces I've done I don't know I wish I
32:51would have seen more of the hero pieces that's the thing it's it's a hard line you know because you
32:57still want to keep you excited in a way and not show everything all at once but everything like today
33:02yeah kids I mean if you say like you know you want to show us that at the show but what if you
33:08don't get to the show you know that's what I feel like you guys didn't understand like today we're
33:12going to narrow it down from four to three skipping what we're looking for today is something that's
33:18going to be at a fashion show show do you have enough to play with to make sure that what she's
33:28wearing head to toe is impactful and important so that the entire outfit is exciting I think the
33:35jacket's very cool I'm in love with the two handbags they're fabulous thank you they're great the wigs
33:42are insanely ugly I know I mean just crazy ugly it's not often that I had to literally go like this hi
33:51yeah okay my first question is is it all black and white I have one red piece okay you can make a
34:01collection of black and white it has been done but you have to more than anyone really focus on having
34:10extraordinary styling okay because your clothes are very limited I mean it's black and white the positive
34:20about your collection there is a sense of coolness to your clothes the pants are cool I get it but
34:28there's got to be something else okay I would also rethink the sleeves on that jacket which look a
34:37little Robin Hood to me yeah I mean this can go down and this just cut them off just they need to be
34:47perfect there's no reason why they look like this right now I'm really worried that all I'm going to
34:53see are some just plain black and white clothes that you can barely see from here by the way I am
34:59literally here in the front row imagine what the fifth row is going to see I don't know I mean you
35:05guys this is it this is it before fashion week you guys have had five weeks we've heard what you had to
35:16say model so you can leave the runway designers you have given us a lot to think about and discuss and
35:28I'll be honest I'm not sure how this is going to end up thank you you can leave the runway
35:34let's talk about Dimitri well I think his combinations more dowdy are really old I mean
35:51the clothes are gorgeous gorgeous beautifully made I mean I don't polish I think that jacket and that
35:58dress spectacular but put together in a way very old lady the pieces are individually not old it's
36:05just style it's just the way you put them together totally but are the individual pieces gorgeous yeah
36:10yeah they're gorgeous and then Fabio I mean he is gonna either put on a show that you're gonna love
36:17or hate what are the odds that a designer who's as avant-garde as he is would pick pastel colors I like
36:26those colors I like you I think it's different it's not gonna be safe well and it's going to be
36:31very unique but I'm curious if he could just get it to look more expensive and a little cooler it
36:39needs to look a little more sophisticated looks he can get it really right or really wrong I have no
36:46idea what to expect right I mean could be amazing could be a joke like really a joke you know with
36:53Christopher when you heard the explanation for the prints I thought it was interesting I got you I
36:58thought it was very cool very personal it's just right now the way he showed it to us was just I
37:04don't know kind of a missed opportunity because I think he's got something there I mean two of his
37:11looks were really beautiful I mean there were beautiful pieces I would want to buy these pieces the
37:16one thing we know with Christopher his clothes are consistently polished well-made it looks expensive
