00:00Yannick, gracias por acompañarnos.
00:02Super season.
00:04A lot of things have happened during this long year.
00:08One of the most messy.
00:11A lot of things have happened in these several months.
00:15Yeah, I mean, it's been a tough season.
00:20I think I'm currently P5 or P6 in the championship.
00:25I probably can still finish on the podium,
00:28although it will be tight.
00:30But if I have a very strong weekend here in London,
00:32I think I can make it.
00:33We're also fighting for the top three position
00:36in the team championship,
00:37so it's very important for us to do very well.
00:41It's been a tough season.
00:43I don't think we started very strongly
00:45in terms of pure performance.
00:47We were able to improve a lot of the cars throughout the season,
00:49and now the performance is getting very good.
00:51So I'm quite pleased with the progress we've made.
00:54And then I hate to say we've had bad luck,
00:58but I think it's fair to say that, yeah,
01:02luck was not really on our side, you know,
01:04when you, with this new attack mode being so powerful
01:09with the four-wheel drive, and whenever I activated it,
01:12I think it's been the case for the first three races.
01:15I had this maybe four races where I activated it,
01:17and right after I had a safety car full course yellow,
01:20so obviously not being able to make the use of the attack mode,
01:23it happened a lot.
01:24And I went sometimes from a P2, P3 position to outside of the point,
01:28just because I had no way to fight people on attack.
01:33So, yeah, luck was not really on our side,
01:36but putting this aside, it's been a positive season
01:41in the view of how much progress we've made,
01:43and I'm feeling very confident for next year.
01:45Cool. You talk about the four-wheel drive,
01:49all the drivers are super happy with this kind of drivability,
01:52the car is improving a lot, also the pit bulls,
01:55so this season made a huge step up.
01:58Yeah, no, it's been a huge step, also in terms of performance.
02:03I think there are still a little bit of a tweaks to be made,
02:06especially around the attack.
02:07It's...
02:10Now the luck parameter is becoming a little bit too big,
02:13because let's say you keep your attack for the very end,
02:16and then you have a safety car, everybody bunch up,
02:19and you're the only one that has it left.
02:21It's a bit of a luck, but it's more on the bad luck side.
02:24Let's say when you start to activate,
02:26and then all of a sudden you have got a safety car for four minutes,
02:29you cannot really use your attack,
02:31and I feel that there should be a system
02:33where whenever there is a safety car,
02:35full course yellow, it should freeze the time
02:38in which you're having your attack.
02:40So this way it's the same for everybody,
02:43and there is no bad luck on anyone's side.
02:48So I hope we can see some changes in going in that direction for next year,
02:52because the changes so far have been going in the right direction,
02:55and then it's always, you know, when you bring something so new,
02:58it's always, you always have to tweak a little bit the rules
03:01to make it fair for everyone and to make it good for the show as well.
03:05Perfect. And also you are waiting for the Gen 4,
03:07that the car seems massive, but also this track seems a little bit tight
03:12or small for this new car.
03:14So maybe we see that some of you going in another direction
03:19with bigger tracks and with bigger cars, who knows?
03:22What do you think?
03:23Yeah, I mean, I, you know, we're going more and more to bigger tracks,
03:27like, you know, we've been to Shanghai,
03:29which using half of the Formula One track.
03:33I think tracks like London, when we're going to go with a bigger car,
03:38much faster car, it might be, you know, too narrow, too small.
03:42So, yeah, I mean, you know, the championship is evolving,
03:45the technologies are evolving, the car are getting faster.
03:48We need to also evolve the tracks.
03:52So it kind of makes sense to go on bigger ones.
03:55What about you? How do you feel inside of the championship,
03:58inside of the team, many years inside of the Formula E?
04:01You are improving and developing a lot as a person,
04:04also as a driver. How do you feel right now?
04:06I feel very good.
04:08You know, my hunger to win is still intact.
04:12I'm still very motivated, working very hard to try and win.
04:16I mean, you know, although I said that I'm, you know, happy with that season,
04:20at the end of the day, you're only really happy when you win a championship.
04:23So I want to make sure that the years to come,
04:27I'm in a happy situation at the end of the season,
04:30at least being in, you know, in contention for the title.
04:33So, yeah, feeling good, motivated.
04:37I think I still have many years to go in front of me.
04:41Things change a lot. Many teams come and go.
04:45And also you were in the Red Bull Junior team and things are changing a lot.
04:49Christian Harnett is out. I mean, nothing is for sure in motorsport.
04:53Everything changed a lot. What do you think about the situation?
04:55Yeah, I mean, you know, motorsport, it's a tough career to make in motorsport
05:02because, yeah, for sure you need the talent.
05:04But I think a lot of drivers have the talent.
05:06Then you need the work ethic, you know.
05:08You have the drivers that succeed are the ones that work the most
05:13or that want it, you know, more than the other guys.
05:16But then you also have the luck factor, you know, some part you can control.
05:22Being at the right place at the right moment can sometimes play, you know,
05:30a crucial role in a driver's career.
05:35You know, depending on when you arrive in a Formula One team,
05:37how good is that team can change a lot of things.
05:42Obviously, when I arrived in Anto also, it was a team where we struggled to score points.
05:48But let's say you arrive in a team like when Lewis arrived in McLaren,
05:55that, you know, they were winning everything.
05:57You know, when you start making podiums or things like this,
06:02you know, a career can shift very quickly.
06:03The same as in Formula E, you have to be in the right team, right moment,
06:07but you also need to understand the regulation,
06:09you need to understand the people behind the team.
06:11So that's how you can also create your luck
06:13and making sure that you're going to be at the right place at the right time.
06:16So, yeah, it's not easy, but it's always exciting.
06:22That's it.
06:23Also, for the next season, you are going to come to Madrid.
06:25You are super very welcome.
06:27You have tried that track, Haram is an oldie but goldie.
06:32Are you excited to come there?
06:34Yeah, I think it's a cool track.
06:36I just hope they can find a solution, you know, for that last chicane.
06:39If you ask me, I don't want to see any hard wall chicane in the middle of a straight.
06:47At least I have something a little bit faster because, A, it doesn't really bring any overtakings.
06:52And it's, yeah, it's a bit old school.
06:56I wish they can find something different to avoid that chicane.
07:02But other than that, it's a cool track, man.
07:05I liked it a lot.
07:06That's it.
07:07Nothing but the best for this weekend.
07:09Enjoy the rest of the season.
07:10Muchas gracias.
07:11De nada, we'll follow you.
07:12Perfecto.
07:13Nice.
07:14Perfecto.
07:15Thanks.
