Volksmagic in Oldbury is behind : Santa is a Gangsta, a charity raflle that sees a custom VW raffled off, helping raise money for christmas presents for Black Country children who otherwise would go without. We meet the people behind it to find out more and find a very unique prize.

00:00So we're here in Albury at Volksmagic in what is normally a spray booth but today it's a car

00:05showroom. How you doing Lou? You're the boss. Yeah I'm good. You all right? Yeah not bad lad.

00:10So Santa's a gangster. Yeah. What's it all about and what's going on with this lovely car

00:16this lovely restored official rally toolbox and chair. What's happening Lou? Okay right so every

00:22year we run a campaign called Santa's a gangster and it's to help families and children die

00:28straights at Christmas. Imagine being that kid with no toys. Awful. Well not on our watch. So we build a car

00:34and some extras. So this year we've built the Harlequin Pablo replica. Yeah. We've built the

00:39Rally Burner Harlequin style and we've built a snap on toolbox all in Harlequin. So you can buy a ticket

00:53Yeah that's it. There'll be three separate prizes won't they? So you can either get a separate ticket

00:58for all three or for a tenner you're in the draw for the lot. And how many years you've been going

01:03Lee doing Santas a gangster? Funny you ask that. So this year Santas a gangster is 10 years old.

01:09Cool. But Harlequin Polo is 30 years old. Volkswagen Polo is 50 years old. Yeah. And the lady that used

01:18to own this car from you we bought it off her son would have been 100 years old. So we've got a whole

01:25stack of anniversaries. That's fantastic. And the Harlequin it was that was an official release

01:32wasn't it by Volkswagen back in the day? Oh yeah. Volkswagen actually made a car in all these colors.

01:37Yeah. Obviously we couldn't find a Harlequin we built a replica. Yeah. But we built it correct.

01:41All the right colors all the right parts. It was a hard find. Yeah yeah. That's what we do. And there's a fair bit

01:47of work in there. There's a lot of work just on the coloring and the spraying on that.

01:51Well there is Bob. I'm surrounded by an amazing team. It's not just me. My team are amazing.

01:58We've got trade support all across the Midlands. Well to be honest country wide. They support us

02:04with parts. They pay for the paint. To be fair the colors came from a local paint company called Marley.

02:11Always support us. They put the color with this for us. Powder coaters that do all this for us.

02:17Wash for finishings. And many many more. I can't mention them all. There's too many.

02:21Yeah yeah. You know. That's how it happens. And I mean attention to detail guys. We've even got the

02:27you've had the special pads made. And the multi-color stall there. Even the top's been

02:33specially made to kind of match the colors of the cars. It's great innit. It looks the part man.

02:38We love it. Yeah yeah. So how much do you reckon you've raised over the 10 years? Have you ever

02:42tried to put a figure on it? I reckon that we have easily. Easily. I'm not going to put a monetary

02:53value on it. I'm going to put. How many people you've supported all. Gifts. We've got to have

02:58done 200,000 gifts over 10 years. 200,000 gifts. And every gift isn't one pound is it? Yeah yeah. So

03:05think about it. But people bring us gifts. They'll bring a bag full of gifts. They'll bring five gifts.

03:10And that's more than five quid. So it's hard to work the money out. But we never ever donate

03:16cash. We go shopping with your money. Yeah yeah. Well don't forget guys. I mean this is Santa's

03:22a gangster. But you know it's too late to be kind of chucking this out there into the public

03:27on Christmas Eve. So hence why we're here now putting the world out. Can people buy tickets
