01:23Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro touched on issues of national and international importance on Thursday during an interview to our multiplatform TELASUR in the context of the 20th anniversary of its creation.
01:34The interview was hosted by Telesur's President Patricia Villegas and Spanish-French journalist and political analyst Ignacio Ramonet and included questions by several Telesur's correspondents around the world.
01:46During the interview, the Bolivarian head of state referred to the resumption of operations of Chevron in the Venezuelan territory, the release of the latest groups of migrants kidnapped in El Salvador, the conflict in Ukraine and the Israeli genocide in Palestine, among others.
02:04President Maduro also insisted in the creation of a world peace summit and highlighted the coming elections in Venezuela on Sunday as another phase of the democracy process the South American nation is implementing.
02:19Precisely during the interview President Maduro highlighted that Venezuela's foreign politics are based on peace, dignity and respect, stressing his will of maintaining a healthy dialogue with the White House.
02:37So we have a vision of independence, of dignity, of respect, and we have an international policy, our Bolivarian diplomacy of peace, which is based on dialogue and understanding.
02:55So I say to Jorge Gestoso, we will always insist, whoever is right now in the White House, we will always insist in holding dialogues, in understanding and in moving forward, each as they are.
03:11And hopefully, hopefully in that path, we can straighten up many things that have been broken down over the centuries.
03:20Likewise, the Venezuelan head of state stressed the importance of many actors in the release of the prisoners from El Salvador, citing the unity of the Venezuelan people, the solidarity from Salvadoran lawyers, international pressure from organizations and activists, and even the help from religious organizations.

04:25So it was a great mobilization of public opinion.
04:28And we knew that with the truth, we would obtain justice, and that sooner than later, we would achieve that these young men get their freedom.
04:40Now they are arriving to their family, and it's very moving.
04:44And I hope that Telesur has access, right, to those testimonies.
04:48And it's very moving how the communities are receiving these young men and are supporting them.
04:54Also, the Bolivarian president described the terrible conditions migrants were submitted to in El Salvador mega-prison,
05:03and accused Nayib Bukele of being the mastermind behind it.
05:07El Salvador, which was a great surprise for them and for the whole world.
05:11In El Salvador, from the moment they arrived, they were humiliated, mistreated, and violated in all their physical integrity.
05:22They were tortured, beaten, all every day.
05:25They threw at them tear gas inside the cells as a pastime, a sadistic pastime of sociopaths.
05:40They were beaten daily.
05:44When the cell was opened for them to go to bathe, which is also another human right, they were beaten, and many were raped.

05:59And the person running this, that we know now, is Nayib Bukele.

07:38Referring to a possible solution for the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine,
07:43the Venezuelan president answered that it depends on the political will of those involved.
07:48He declared that while Putin is aiming for peace, Kyiv is ruled by neo-Nazi trends
07:53and that peace would go against the interests of weapons suppliers.
07:57How close or how far can you see a solution to this conflict?
08:01Well, it depends on the political will.
08:05I think that President Putin has that will and understanding that respects Russia.
08:11But, unfortunately, Kyiv is in the hands of Nazi currents that depend on warmongering sectors.
08:19There is a great corruption.
08:21And protests in the streets which the West media does not report on.
08:29I learned about these protests thanks to Telesur.
08:35So there is a lot of interest created in Ukraine to maintain that war.
08:41And there are many warmongers that are setting weapons and they are betting on the war to continue to reach their objectives.

09:35The international humanitarian aid organization Oxfam has reported a sharp and alarming increase
09:42in waterborne diseases throughout the Gaza Strip.
09:45The organization attributes the surge in diseases to the ongoing Israeli blockade
09:49which has severely restricted the flow of humanitarian aid into the territory.
09:54In this context, in the last three months, infections from acute jaundice, watery diarrhea
10:00and bloody diarrhea have increased by 101%, 150% and 302% respectively.
10:09This rise comes amid widespread famine, lack of drinking water, displacement and health system on the brink of collapse.
10:17Oxfam said the recorded data may not fully reflect the magnitude of the crisis given that most of Gaza's
10:24nearly 2 million inhabitants do not have access to functioning health services and many cases go unreported and untreated.
10:41The people of Gaza are neither alive nor dead, they are walking corpses, said the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East on Raphilippe Lazzarini.
10:53He used these dramatic words to describe the level of famine imposed by Israel and the United States on the Palestinian enclave.
11:00The diplomat assures us that child malnutrition is nearly irreversible and affects one in five children.
11:08The organization and its experts corroborate the data from local health authorities.
11:12As of Thursday, 116 Palestinians, most of whom were children, lost the battle against the hunger imposed on them by the Israeli genocide.

11:40British Prime Minister Kay Starmer described Thursday the situation in Gaza as a humanitarian catastrophe which gets worse every day.

11:58He specified that the objective was to discuss urgent measures to stop violence and to find ways to provide food to the needy population.

14:01In other news, representatives of a Venezuelan citizen filed Thursday a lawsuit before the U.S. Department of Homeland Security against the Trump Administration for having kidnapped him at the Bukele concentration camp in El Salvador.
14:22Neyer Verleón Rangel is 27 years old, and he is part of the group of 252 citizens rescued by the government of President Nicolás Maduro.
14:32From Venezuela, he announced that the League of Latin American Citizens and the Democracy Defenders Fund have brought his case before the Department of Security, which has refused to comment on the press.

16:31Thailand has evacuated more than 130,000 people along the border with Cambodia while the country's leader warned that cross-border clashes could lead to war.
16:56The clashes that began on Thursday resumed early on Friday, according to the Thai army, as the two countries fought their bloodiest military battles in more than a decade.
17:06In this context, Thai authorities said that 138,000 people from four border provinces had been evacuated, while the death toll in the country stood at 15, including 14 civilians.
17:19For its part, the Cambodian national government has not provided details about the victims or civilian evacuations, but a local official in Odar Menche has stated that one civilian has been killed and five injured and 1,500 families have been evacuated.
17:37The European Union has approved its 18th package of sanctions against Russia, strengthening economic and political measures in response to the conflict in Ukraine.
17:58This new set of restrictions reflects the European Union's strategy to increase pressure on the Kremlin, although it also reveals certain limitations and exceptions that could affect its effectiveness.
18:11The Council of the European Union recently approved a new package of sanctions against Russia.
18:20As expected, it includes a flexible price cap on oil reducing it from 60 to 47.6 dollars per barrel, a ban on the sale of oil products derived from Russian crude oil including against the Indian refinery Vadinar, in which Rosneft has a minority state.
18:38It is interesting that this package specifies those who were exempted from sanctions for the purchase of products derived from Russian oil.
18:46You will be surprised, they are the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and I don't remember which one, Switzerland.
18:53So, we wonder, are these countries allowed to buy Russian oil, refine it, and sell it to the European Union, or another countries?
19:00For example, India cannot, but the United States, and the United Kingdom can.
19:07The reduction of the oil cap is not a simple technical adjustment.
19:15It is an acknowledgement of the failure of the initial calculations.
19:19This floating mechanism betrays Brussels' concern that the fixed figures will quickly become obsolete in volatile market conditions.
19:30Well, maybe the floating price might scare off some Greek tankers that are still transporting Russian oil, for example, from a Russian port in the Baltics to somewhere in India.
19:42Some Greeks will probably continue to take the risk and stay in the game.
19:46As for the so-called Shadow Fleet, which now secures most of the Russian oil transport, the owners of these Shadow Fleet tankers will probably ignore the European measures, because the European Union does not claim transnational applicability of the measures.
19:59If the owner of a shadow tanker, say, registered in some country of the global south and east, does not plan to direct his ship to a European port, nor to use European shipping, nor European currencies, in principle, nothing will happen.
