00:00These workers and their families at the Bedford Group's headquarters at Panorama can't face
00:07the prospect of this vital organisation failing.
00:11I'm feeling quite sad because they might end up closing but I've got to figure out how
00:18I'm going to get another job and it's going to be hard.
00:21I love my job, if this did close down I don't know what to do because my sister's going
00:28to help me out hopefully and see how we go about it.
00:32It's just the most wonderful place for someone with a disability and we're just so worried
00:38that it won't continue.
00:39Bedford's management, which first raised its financial issues with the South Australian Government
00:44in May, had a crisis meeting with the Premier this morning.
00:48We all accept responsibility, we've all made the decisions that have brought us to this point.
00:53It's not my DNA just to sit back and watch a group of vulnerable people potentially be
00:57left in a situation where they're even more vulnerable than what they are already.
01:01But so far both state and federal governments have stopped short of committing to bail out Bedford.
01:07The depth of this crisis cannot be overstated and I think frankly I'm appalled that it's got to this position.
01:14Discussions are set to continue over the weekend between governments, Bedford, the banks and
01:20potential administrator McGrath Nicol, with the Premier saying millions would be needed to save the country's second largest employer of people with disabilities.
01:30We don't want to put money into this exercise only to see it lost and then the business still up in administration anyway.
01:39If I was the Premier I would be writing a cheque tomorrow to try and help out Bedford Industries.
01:44The State Government says it has money ready to put on the table but the Federal Government hasn't yet committed any funds.
01:51Buy us some time to get to the bottom of what has happened here and to work out whether there is a way to get this South Australian icon back on track.
02:01A worrying weekend ahead for hundreds of workers and their families.
