To transform the Škoda Superb Combi into a pickup truck with a spacious passenger cabin and a functional, extendable cargo area, the trainees made numerous modifications to the body. They cut off the combi roof behind the C-pillars, reinforced the body panels of the remaining passenger cabin, adjusted the B- and C-pillars, and shortened the roof rails. To this end, the students developed a new rear cabin wall, including a rear window positioned behind the second row of seats. The right rear door features a completely new lift-and-slide mechanism, which the trainees designed in close collaboration with experts from the company's development department. Because the door doesn't swing outward in the traditional way, it can be opened safely even when professional cyclists ride close to or past the support vehicle.
