00:00Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71. Born as Terry Jean Bollier, the professional
00:06wrestler became a mainstream star in the 1980s and is often credited as having
00:10turned wrestling into a business rather than just a sport. He was a major draw
00:16card at the first Wrestlemania in 1985 and continued on in the event over the
00:21years, facing other celebrity wrestlers including Andre the Giant, Randy Savage
00:26and The Rock. He became a popular culture icon appearing in TV shows and movies

00:38Hogan was also a controversial character, notably in 2015 the WWE cut ties with him

01:03appearing at the Republican National Convention. The 71 year old was
01:08pronounced dead at a hospital in Florida less than 90 minutes after paramedics
01:12arrived responding to a cardiac arrest call. Tributes have poured out on social
