02:05The last race was for Lamborghini Super Trofeo cars in which it started damp, dried a bit, and then the heavens opened and it became very wet indeed.
02:16So it is a wet track that the drivers have to cope with, but the rain has eased, possibly even stopped, actually.
02:21So possibly it will dry out towards the end.
02:24But looking down onto the grid, it's wet tyres, wet hand-cooked tyres for everybody for this race.
02:30That's 30 minutes plus the regulation lap at the end.
02:34Now, this is David Addison, trackside, down on the grid, ready to talk to people involved.
02:39It's Gemma Scott.
02:41Louis, you're here as part of the 24-hour race, of course, with Porsche this weekend, but you know exactly what it's like for these boys who are sitting behind us right now in the Renaults.
02:50You raced here back in 2015, vice-champion in this particular championship.
02:55What's it like at Spa in these cars?
02:57Spa is always beautiful in Formula Renault.
02:59I mean, I really enjoyed it.
03:01It's so fast, always flat out.
03:02Now it's raining, so it'll be a tough race for them, but I'm sure they will enjoy it.

03:25His father, Jean-Denny Delatraz, winner of the Spa 24 hours, in fact.
03:29And Louis Delatraz is here, as you just heard, as part of the Porsche Assault.
03:33It's a big Porsche Assault for the 24 hours, but also has been racing this year in Formula 2
03:38and was the SRO eSports champion in lockdown.
03:42And his CV goes on and on and on.
03:43Victor Martins, number 92, is the man who lines up on pole position.
03:47He's also the championship leader with second in the championship, Caio Collet, starting way, way back on the grid.
03:5311th is where you find Caio Collet.
03:56Third in the championship is the man that's last on the grid after a grid drop penalty.
03:59David Vidalis.
04:01Franco Colopinto is fourth.
04:02He lines up third on the grid.
04:04Alex Quinn, fifth.
04:05And he's fourth on the grid.
04:06And Lorenzo Colombo is sixth in the championship.
04:11And he is missing from the race altogether.
04:14And we wish him well.
04:15Lorenzo Colombo has been suffering this last week with pretty serious nosebleeds.
04:19And he's been to a doctor about it and has been advised not to race this weekend
04:24just for the fear of adding an inch of pressure on the sinuses.
04:27So Lorenzo Colombo is not going to be racing.
04:29And the field, in the meantime, gets away.
04:31Let's look at the grid.
04:32They're all in identical cars run by different teams.
04:34And Victor Martins, the championship leader, is the man that starts off pole position
04:38with Uge de Wilde, the Belgian driver, with him at the front.
04:41Franco Colopinto has had a race win this year.
04:43He starts third alongside Alex Quinn, ahead of Paul Aaron,
04:46and then Amorik Kordil, who lines up next.
04:51Karls Haberkorn starts seventh.
04:53Gregoire Sosi alongside him, ahead of Hamdrian David,
04:55and then Resha Dejeros.
04:58Eleventh on the grid is the aforementioned Kyle Connett,
05:00the main opposition to Victor Martins in the championship,
05:03ahead of Tymon Vanderhelm, who is twelfth,
05:05William Alitalo thirteenth,
05:06and Petro Patacek fourteenth on the grid.
05:10Fifteenth is Lashlo Tov.
05:11Nicola Marinangeli, sixteenth, in the sister Bitec car,
05:16and David Vidales after a grid drop put to the back of the grid.
05:20I have to confess, we've not been told why he's been given the grid drop,
05:23so it could well be all to do with track limits
05:25that were being looked at at the end of the session.
05:27But I'm afraid that we haven't been blessed with the information
05:30for the penalty of the grid issued quite late before the race,
05:34and an opportunity to investigate further.
05:36So as the cars head downhill,
05:39it is going to be Victor Martins for pole position.
05:44He has, by tips of being on pole position for both races this weekend,
05:48taken nine pole positions this season,
05:51which is equaling the record set by Scott Speed
05:56and by Sacha Fenestra.
05:59Scott Speed did it in 04, Sacha Fenestra in 2017.
06:02If you take the pole positions he got last year in the championship,
06:06then we reckon that Victor Martins has had more poles than anybody else
06:09since it became a single-mate category.
06:11Ford Moreno initially was multi-chassis,
06:13but since it became a single mark, single super series,
06:16that's probably, if you add them two years together,
06:18more than anybody else has ever had.
06:20All of these cars are Tatius chassis.
06:30They have 1,800cc turbocharged Renault engines,
06:34and we have had, what, four different winners this year.
06:37Two wins to Kaio Connick, one to Franco Connipinto,
06:40two wins to the man at the back, David Vidales,
06:43and it's now five wins for the man on pole position,
06:46Victor Martins.
06:47And as the cars come through the bus stop,
06:49they will shortly slot its place on the grid.
06:57And 30 minutes plus the regulation lap will then be good to go.
07:06So there is Victor Martins.
07:09He knows exactly what he's doing with these cars.
07:11He raced them here last year.
07:13I've got to say, actually, as we are at half past two local time,
07:16it has gone very, very gloomy all of a sudden,
07:19and that makes me slightly fearful that more rain is on its way.
07:23However, let us see how this next half an hour pans out.
07:27Thomas Jetner, the race director,
07:30will keep an eye to the conditions should they change.
07:33The stewarding panel with him,
07:36headed by the experienced British official, Steve Stringwell.
07:39We'll be there to adjudicate should the need arise over the course of what we hope is going to be a good race,
07:44because Formula Renault round here,
07:46with that ability to slipstream up towards Les Combs,
07:48normally does give drama.
07:50The grid is formed.
07:51Everybody then ready for 30 minutes plus one lap of racing,
07:56as the lights go out very quickly.
07:57Indeed, who makes the best start?

08:22and he's got the best of the visibility down through the spray,
08:25down towards Arouche for the first time.

08:35your top speed around here is 253 kilometres an hour.

09:15all over the weekend.
09:16And there the rain is falling again.
09:17So, yeah,
09:18the weather is worsening.
09:19You can see,
09:20and it seems to start
09:21at that part of the circuit
09:22earlier on in the day as well
09:23for the previous GT-type race
09:26as they come now
09:27down towards the left-hander at four.
09:30There's a look to the inside there
