They found each other, but are still waiting for a country that finds them equal. Sassa Gurl (@itssassagurl) sits down with all the lovers from our #PreviewPride2025 cover to talk meet-cutes, milestones, and the marriage rights they’re still fighting for.

Because queer love stories deserve happy endings, too. Read more about their love stories through the link in our bio. #PreviewLovesPride #PreviewVideos #PreviewCovers

00:00So, how did you guys feel?
00:11We dated back in 2023.
00:14TikTok.
00:15We first met in TikTok.
00:17We met through Bumble.
00:19Nagmodel siya for me nung first time namin nag-meet.
00:24Nagkakilala kami nung college.
00:26We were blockmates sa iba.
00:29Oh, we first met in Hong Kong 2012.
00:33Well, I've known Jigs since probably 2016.
00:38Yeah, so we first met actually online pandemic and then he chatted me.
00:47So, why do you think marriage equality is important?
00:52So, basically the power of legality and also the inclusivity of everyone in the community.
01:01Because to be blessed by the church and to be blessed by the law.
01:04Because for me, from the get-go, I think same-sex marriage is important not just for the idea of it but the legal part of it.
01:13For us, I think it's more for the legal protection, like the rights.
01:18Yeah.
01:19Like if ever you want to have property in the future.
01:24I believe that everyone has a right to marry someone they really love.
01:30It should be a default.
01:31Yeah, it's a default.
01:32Yeah, it's a default.
01:34A commitment.
01:35A deeper level of commitment to your partner and commitment to God or whatever being you choose or whatever being you believe in.
01:44I would say it's very important because we're building our lives intertwined with each other and we want to share that life with each other as much as possible.
02:12Yun, yun, yun.
02:13Yeah, oo.
02:14Important.
02:15Yes, of course.
02:16Parang it's hard na makasama yung partner natin.
02:23Tsaka yung mga privilege ng mga straight couples.
02:27Sana nakukuha din na yung privilege niya.
02:30I think it's nice to know that society is accepting of us being together, living together.
02:39I think it's important to a lot of us because I feel like not a lot of people get to celebrate the love.
02:48I mean, it's not really about loving any way.
02:51Loving others.
02:52It's really just about loving just one person and getting to celebrate that and getting to show that to everyone without feeling shame or feeling like you're being judged for loving a person.
03:03I feel like that's why it's very important to me.
03:07Same-sex marriage is not just an LGBTQIA plus issue.
03:12It's a human rights issue.
03:15It's about dignity, fairness, and freedom to actually marry a person that you love.
03:24Thank you so much.
03:28Thank you so much.
03:29Thank you so much.
