Goit Stock Wood fundraiser

Friends of Goit Stock Wood are a community group raising funds to buy the wood as a local asset.   They only have until September to raise the cash.

00:00My name's Tom Wood. I'm the trustee of Friends of Goitstock Wood.

00:05We are here in Goitstock Wood, just outside Bingley in West Yorkshire.

00:09It's a 70 acre ancient woodland and it's up for sale.

00:14And we're hoping that we can buy it so that it can be owned by the community

00:18and looked after by the local community for generations to come.

00:22The woodland's on the market for £195,000 and we're hoping to raise that money

00:34over the next eight weeks from local community, from local businesses

00:40and from generous people who want to see this woodland back in the hands of the local community.
