00:03Oh my goodness, I'm really careful to not push. I just stay, I'm their dad, father, not friend.

00:22Like I'm not even the best singer in my house anymore, it's super annoying.

00:26And so I take pride in listening to everything they're doing and not sharing anything that I'm doing with them.

00:39Now if they discover it independently, that's when it's like I don't want it to suck.

00:44People say, have you written a song about your kids?

00:46I remember back in the day when I first had kids, did you write a song about your kids?

00:49Hell no.

00:50But what it is, is that I have four kids with really good taste.

00:57So I just, I get like my daughter Robe is like, oh my God, I sent her the record.

01:02And she goes, oh no, we already have it, it's amazing, incredible, thank you, you know, it's so good.

01:07But I don't like to push it on the others, I just want them to discover it.

01:14And then I'm their dad, I have a different job.

01:17I'm like the guy that makes sure they eat.

01:19Right.

01:20Have they discovered any of your older songs that they particularly like?

01:26Well, I'll tell you a funny thing, one time Zuma, who's my middle kid, he's super talented.

01:31And we were doing a remix record.

01:35Okay.

01:36There was a remix thing going on, like a marketing thing.

01:38So I was like, you know, I have my studio, I've always wanted to do a remix, I'm always like,

01:41so can I, I asked my manager, I said, can I, while everyone's having a go at my remixes,

01:45can I just have a go, you know?

01:47And so I was in my studio, which is, when I say my studio, that is the spare room next to my son's room,

01:53that I've tricked out, so it looks like a studio, but it really is a spare room.

01:56So when I'm in the spare room, and I'm doing it, I did a remix, a machine head, of which I must admit,

02:01I try not to be too flash, but I was feeling pretty good about myself.

02:05Yeah.

02:06Because I engineered it, stuff, I found all the different things, and I put it together,

02:09and I'm literally one of the world's worst engineers in the studio.

02:13So, I put it together, and my son came in, Zumi came in, and he goes,

02:17what are you working on?

02:18I was like, check it out, and I did think he'd be impressed.

02:20This is, this is why I don't do this stuff normally.

02:22So I played it, and I was like, you know, yeah, I'll just put this together, no big.

02:26And he goes, oof.

02:28And he's listening to his playing machine, and he goes, oof.

02:30And he's putting it, giving me the poo face.

02:32And he goes, you're not putting that out, are you?

02:34I said, well, I was thinking of it, why is there something particularly wrong with it?

02:38He goes, hmm, machine head, legend, legendary.

02:42You know, this, hmm, I don't know about that.

02:44And then left the room.
