00:01New York State Police say Melina Galanes-Fratolan,
00:04the 9-year-old at the center of an intensive search,
00:08has been found dead in Ticonderoga.
00:11State Police say that her father had conflicting statements.
00:15CBS 6's Sean Cavanaugh has more from Ticonderoga.
00:19At around 4.30 p.m. on Sunday,
00:21State Police told us that 9-year-old Melina Frantolan,
00:23who was allegedly abducted on Saturday night,
00:26was found dead in Ticonderoga.
00:27Police say that there's no indication an abduction occurred
00:31and that there's no threat to the public.
00:33But they did say that the father's story is inconclusive
00:36and the investigation is ongoing.
00:39This all started on Saturday night around 9.40 p.m.
00:42when police say they received a call from Luciano Frantolan
00:45about a possible abduction.
00:48They were told 9-year-old Canadian resident Melina Frantolan was abducted.
00:51At around 1.30 Sunday morning, an Amber Alert was issued.
00:54The Amber Alert saying that she was last seen near I-87
00:58around exit 22 in Lake George.
01:00And for people to be on the lookout and call with information.
01:03That Amber Alert was stopped around 4.30 Sunday evening.
01:07And we've been asking Warren County Sheriff's Office
01:09and the State Police for more information
01:12and answers on this investigation.
01:14And they told us that they will be briefing the media on Monday.
