00:14Before departing from Manila, Marcos said discussions would centre on security, defence and trade.
00:20Marcos will be the first Southeast Asian leader to meet Trump in his second term.
00:24The U.S. ran a nearly US$5 billion trade deficit with the Philippines last year on US$23.5 billion in bilateral goods trade.
00:35Trump recently raised the proposed tariffs on Philippine imports to 20%, up from April's 17% threat.
00:42Marcos arrived in Washington on Sunday and will meet Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defence Secretary Pete Hexif on Monday.
00:49He is also set to meet US business leaders investing in the Philippines during his visit.
