00:00Do you have plans to meet with President Trump amidst the possibility that the U.S. will freeze aid?
00:13The U.S. has freed frozen aid, but I will meet with President Trump because I should because
00:23there's much that we need to discuss between the U.S. and the Philippines in terms of
00:30the trade, in terms of defense and security, and now the new policy on immigration.
00:44So this is something that we have to work through and hopefully resolve because the Filipinos in the
00:51United States especially have really formed a very important part already of their workforce.
00:56So we'll see how we can influence the policy-making in terms of immigration.
01:05Sir, how concerning is that freeze of aid?
01:10It's not clear yet. It's hard to comment because on the freezing of the aid, there's a court that
01:22blocked it. So it's very unclear what it is. Even the agencies in the U.S. government,
01:30they didn't understand what it means. What will happen? How will the aid fund be reduced?
01:37So, well, this is what happens. These are the growing pains of a new administration. But I'm
01:45sure that with time, these policies will crystallize and it will become clearer,
01:52by which time I will have a chance to visit with President Trump
01:56and we can discuss it with a better understanding of what the policies are.
