00:00The Syrian government says clashes in the southern city of Sueda have stopped after a week of
00:06violence left hundreds of people dead.
00:10Pope Leo XIV renews calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza amid new Israeli attacks
00:15killing dozens of Palestinians and fresh evacuation notices.
00:21Syria's government on Sunday said clashes in the southern city of Sueda have stopped
00:25following a week of fighting that left hundreds of people dead.
00:29Syria's armed Bedouin clans announced they had withdrawn from Sueda and the US brokered
00:35ceasefire deal reached by the government, Druze groups and Bedouin tribes on Saturday appeared
00:41to be holding.
00:43The ceasefire came as clashes between militias of the Druze religious minority and the Sunni
00:48Muslim clans, threatening Syria's fragile post-war transition.
00:53Israel had also launched dozens of airstrikes in the Druze-majority Sueda province, targeting
00:59government forces who had effectively sided with the Bedouins.
01:02According to local officials, the violence was sparked by a series of tit-for-tat kidnappings
01:07in towns and villages in Sueda province which later spread to the city.
01:13The UN estimates that more than 87,000 people have been displaced in Sueda since July 12 due
01:18due to the heavy fighting.
01:25Pope Leo XIV renewed his call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza on Sunday urging world leaders
01:31to respect international laws and uphold their duty to protect civilians.
01:35Pontiff made the remarks as he presided over a mass at the Cathedral of Albino in Rome.
01:40It comes after Israeli forces targeted the Holy Family Catholic Church in Gaza where hundreds
01:45of Palestinians have been sheltering.
01:47The shelling also damaged the church compound.
01:50Israel expressed regret over the attacks, calling it an accident and said it's investigating
01:55the incident.
01:56Meanwhile, Gaza's health ministry says at least 73 Palestinians were killed by Israeli soldiers
02:01while they were attempting to reach the various aid distribution points across the enclave.
02:06The Israeli defense forces say their soldiers opened fire at a gathering of thousands of
02:10Palestinians who, quote, posed a threat, noting that it was aware of some casualties.
02:15It, however, accused the Hamas-run health ministry of inflating the numbers, stressing that its
02:20investigation revealed far less fatalities.
02:23Israel also issued a fresh wave of evacuation notices to several areas in central Gaza as it
02:28announced plans for intense ground operations.
02:31The evacuation cuts access between the city of Deir al-Balah and the southern cities of Khan
02:36Yunus and Rafah.
02:40Where can you go to escape the heat?
02:43Climate refuges are becoming more of a solution.
02:46With a wave of intense heat gripping European cities, climate refuges are places that can offer
02:52the population some coolness and relief.
02:55Public parks and gardens, libraries, museums and schools are among places that are open
03:01during the day to receive people who are vulnerable to extreme temperatures.
03:33The city of Barcelona served as a model for the rest of Europe, not because it was a
03:39pioneer, but what really makes the Catalan city a great example is the clear criteria
03:44for defining what a refuge is, according to this researcher.
05:11de tempo quente.
05:13Joana Morão Carvalho, para a Euronews, em Lisboa.
05:19Iran has reached an agreement with three major European countries – Germany, France
05:24and the United Kingdom – to hold renewed talks on the country's nuclear program.
05:29According to local reports, an agreement was reached on the talks format.
05:34However, negotiations are still in progress regarding the precise location and dates of the talks.
05:40Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arachi said Tehran's approach to negotiating its nuclear file
05:46is stronger than before.
05:48Arachi was reported to have spoken to the EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaya Callas
05:52and his counterparts in Britain, France and Germany on Friday.
05:56The talks are expected to open the door to more extensive engagement between Tehran and the West
06:02following the recent 12-day war with Israel that saw massive attacks by both Israel and the U.S.
06:08on key Iranian nuclear facilities.
06:16Will the new EU long-term budget turn cohesion policy into a regional hunger games?
06:22For decades, cohesion funds have helped reduce regional disparities across the EU,
06:27supporting projects from modern roads to hospital upgrading and job training.
06:32But a major shift is around the corner.
06:35Under the proposed EU long-term budget, cohesion policy would be merged into a single mega fund,
06:41combined with other spending priorities.
06:44Many warned that this budget simplification could lead to fierce competition for resources,
06:49raising alarm bells among regional leaders.
06:52This is what's happening with putting agriculture, migration, border control, cohesion policy
07:02into one bag, one container.
07:06It would turn it to a hunger games, turning against the farmers, to the mayors, cities,
07:13turning against housing, unemployment and agricultural subsidies.
07:19Of the total EU budget of 2 trillion for the 2028-2034 period,
07:25865 billion will be earmarked for the single mega fund that will merge other spending lines,
07:32including the EU's agriculture and fisheries subsidies, cohesion policy
07:37and the European Social Fund, which supports employment and education across the EU.
07:42Beyond the funding race, the new delivery model for these funds is seen as a move away
07:47from the EU's long-standing approach of shared management with local authorities.
07:51It's a clear centralization, it's a clear top-down model,
07:56instead of being an active part of designing and implementing the policies.
08:02So we will be kicked out from the design part, from the management part,
08:08from the creation part, and we will be just implementers fighting for money
08:13and putting farmers against cities and regions.
08:19With many details of the proposal still unclear, the coming months will be crucial.
08:24Local governments are calling for greater involvement and everything
08:28before the final EU budget is locked in.
08:34Millennials and Gen Z no longer want perfect campaigns or smooth messages.
08:39They expect authenticity, relationships and values.
08:42And platforms like TikTok are becoming the voice of the new consumer.
08:46The new generation of consumers is moving away from an idealized world.
09:04They are not looking for perfect images and prefer authenticity.
09:09A great example of this communication is Mark Burberry,
09:12which is in the classic channels of communication.
09:15She communicates in a very prestigious way.
09:18However, on TikTok, she uses actors from the The Crown series
09:22and created a communication that was based on the English dressing room.
09:28It was the English dressing room.
09:32Such brands are able to dispense with excessive perfectionism
09:35and rely on dialogue to win true audience engagement.
09:39The Polish market is no exception.
09:41Brands such as Hylak and Inglot are effectively using the potential of TikTok.
09:45This form of communication translates into real purchasing decisions.
10:03It's like the one-time bag.
10:24Luxury is not losing its meaning.
10:26It is rather changing its form.
10:28Today it is not just about the product,
10:30but also the values that the brand represents.
10:44The initial aim is to get it over 100 mph
10:47with the Guinness World Record moderators watching.
10:51However, quietly, internally,
10:53the aim for this vehicle is just to find out how fast we can make this thing go.
10:57And my personal aim is I would love to see it go past 200 km an hour.
11:01What's amazing about it is the power density.
11:13So the thing that's so exciting about the turbo is it's very, very lightweight,
11:17despite having this incredible performance.
11:19And it's just, for us, a really entertaining statistic from it,
11:22is that it has a higher power to weight ratio than something like a Bugatti Veyron.
11:27We'll see you in the next video.
11:28It's Ciber shuffle.
11:29Bye!
11:30It's Ciber cex.
