00:00Belarus released a group of political prisoners on Saturday.
00:06Sergei Tsikhanovsky, who is the husband of exiled opposition leader Svetlana Tsikhanovskaya, was among the released.
00:14President Aleksandr Lukashenka's regime arrested him in 2020,
00:19when he was a key Belarusian opposition presidential candidate and Lukashenka's direct opponent.
00:25The surprise release was brokered by U.S. envoy Keith Kellogg,
00:29who has been a long-time advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump.
00:35Since last year, the Belarusian president has been releasing small numbers of imprisoned government critics,
00:41which analysts believe may be an attempt to ease up tensions with the West.
00:46Several sources revealed that Kellogg himself has said privately that the trip to Belarus
00:51could kick-start peace talks aimed at ending Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
00:56According to the Belarusian Human Rights Center,
01:01over 50,000 people have been detained on political grounds
01:05after mass protests broke out following Lukashenka's 2020 presidential election win.
01:12And over 5,000 people have been convicted in politically motivated criminal cases.
01:17As Russia intensifies its attacks, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said
01:26Kyiv is developing interceptor drones with the help of its international allies.
01:32Local media reported that in just the past night,
01:35Moscow launched 280 drones and missiles towards Ukraine.
01:39In Kherson, Russian forces struck residential buildings overnight,
01:44damaging multiple apartments and wounding one woman.
01:48The city of Kremenchuk in the Poltava region also became the target of an aerial attack.
01:54Russian forces reportedly targeted energy facilities.
01:59Local authorities said the strike also damaged civilian infrastructure and injured one person.
02:04On Friday, Ukraine and Russia had both claimed they hit each other's key military targets.
02:11The Russian Defense Ministry said it had intercepted and shot down Ukrainian aerial bombs,
02:16rockets and over 1,000 drones.
02:20On the same day, Ukraine's armed forces reported that more than 170 battles took place
02:25in the frontline areas over the past day.
02:27As tensions escalate between Tehran and Tel Aviv,
02:36Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged greater unity among Islamic nations
02:42in response to Israeli actions and growing regional instability.
02:47During the opening of the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers
02:52of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held in Istanbul on Saturday.
02:58He also warned against a new Sykes-Pico order,
03:01which was a 1916 secret deal between Western powers to divide the Middle East.

03:09the measures taken by Iran to defend its people against the state terrorism by Israel
03:15are quite natural, legitimate and lawful.
03:18The OIC is set to hold a special closed-door session Saturday evening at the request of Iran.
03:25Speaking on Gaza, Erdogan described the conditions as worse than those of Nazi concentration camps,
03:32comparing Netanyahu's actions to Hitler.
03:38Romania's President Nicolò Dan has appointed former interim Prime Minister Ilya Bolozhan as Prime Minister.
03:45The nomination comes after weeks of deliberations and amid a challenging political and economic context.
03:54Bolozhan's nomination will need to be approved by Parliament.
