00:00Auggie! Junie! Breakfast time! Come get it! Good boy! Hi baby! You hungry?
00:17Here's my boy. Okay, gotta get creative. I gotta think of something. Something
00:25different. Hmm. Dad. Gary. Yeah! Oh yeah. Yes! Bingo!
00:55Hello Gary. When storage units are abandoned, the treasures within are put up for auction.
01:18I got scored on this. I'm in the green. Look at this. Money baby!
01:25Danny, do you ever remember your dreams? Yeah, yeah. Matter of fact, I had a dream last night.
01:36I had a dream I was eating this big sandwich. And I had one too, Danny. I did. It was just like this. We were headed to Merino Valley, getting ready for today's auction. We get there. All of the buyers there, but they're kind of like different. They're like strange, like changing. You know how dreams kind of do that?
01:53Exactly. My dream started off, it was like a turkey sandwich. And then... Exactly. As I predicted, Danny, today I'm gonna have premonitions on everything. I even feel as though I know there's gonna be some drama. Yes.
02:05Sounds like you just know everything that's gonna happen. I do. I do. Am I gonna get a chance to tell you about my dream? Yes. It turned out to be a ham sandwich.
02:18How'd you know that? Am I talking in my sleep? It turned into a ham sandwich. As soon as I was gonna take a bite, it turned into exactly what I wanted. I didn't want turkey, but I wanted ham.
02:27It's gonna be premonitions all day, I told you. I'm gonna get everything I want. Everything I want. I'm getting a ham sandwich today.
02:35Man, these storage auctions are so addicting. I just can't miss an auction. It brings me to areas I don't normally even shop in.
02:42I had to come all the way out to Merino Valley because it's pure FOMO. I just know that if I don't come out here today, it's gonna keep me up at night about all the stuff that I missed.
02:52I can't lose sleep from a locker. I'm already losing sleep from a toddler. I gotta see what's here.
03:01So it's bring your daughter to work day. Oh, it's bring your dad to work day. He's gonna teach you how it's done, right? I can help out a little bit too. I don't mind.
03:09What do you mean you can't help out a little bit? I brought you for hard labor.
03:12What? Well, don't go buying some of that big stuff, right? Actually, I'm gonna let you decide today what unit we buy.
03:19You're gonna let me decide? Yeah. Well, who's paying? How many years have you been doing this again?
03:25Way too long. But enough to support a little kid from all the way from baby all the way till grown-up.
03:30I was gonna say a little kid. Don't you move out at 18? You're old enough now. You need to take some chances to take some educated risks.
03:39Okay. Just make a good decision, please. Sit back, relax. We're gonna find something nice. We'll see.
03:45Oh, valley. Ha, ha. We're bad. Here's the mathematicals. Less money plus more value equals more valley.
04:02What up, homie? Hey, Kenny. How you doing, girl? Yes, it's you. You too. Oh, my goodness. I saw you always like, is that Kenny? Yeah.
04:09My dad brought me along. You gotta bring the muscles, right? Hell, yeah. He brought the brain and the muscles.
04:13Oh, yeah. Exactly. Hey, I like that. There he is. There you come, Sha-Nan-Nam. What's up, Sha-Nan-Nam?
04:17What's up, bro? All right, now, low-key bowser.
04:21Ready to party. You wanna get one shorter? Yeah. I got two.
04:25You're gonna take one of them. You're gonna be a striptease out here. They're gonna be hot.
04:28You know, I probably can walk on the sidewalk and make a little something-something. You know how we do in West Frankfurt?
04:32Yeah. Say, you know what, bro? I never ate schnitzel. You never ate schnitzel?
04:38No, what the hell is a schnitzel? We gotta take you. Oh, my gosh.
04:41It's the best. I think Germany invented it. Any meat that they had, they would just deep-fry.
04:45Schnitzel is just any meat? In Germany, the famous schnitzel is pork schnitzel.
04:49Ain't that something. Yeah.
04:51Rene knows a whole lot of schnitzel about schnitzel.
04:54What's up, bro? Hey! Hey! What's up, girl?
04:57You're looking great. What's up, yeah? You smell good.
05:00I wash.
05:03It's sweating balls out here.
05:05I'm not getting enough respect from the other buyers.
05:07So today, I'm gonna be the person that I respect the most.
05:11My good old Daddy Gary.
05:13Hey, it's not the first time somebody's come to an auction in disguise.
05:17When I get out of that chair, my own mother's not gonna recognize me.
05:22I can't spoil my cover, so I gotta lay low and be cool as all heck.
05:34Oh, look who's in town! Hey! How you doing?
05:38Oh, my gosh.
05:40Oh, big Kenny. You know I want some love.
05:42Oh, this is... Oh, my God!
05:44I dreamt you were here last night. Really?
05:46And that you're gonna score. I'm hungry. I need it.
05:49Oh, wow. You know Danny dreamt about food.
05:51All right. So enough about dreams.
05:53Tell me about your dreams, Kenny.
05:55My dream? Me finding a locker with a lot of money in it.
05:59What's the craziest dream you've had?
06:01Probably riding a unicorn.
06:03Unicorn?
06:05For real? You ride a unicorn?
06:08I'm not embarrassed.
06:10Where else are you supposed to ride a unicorn but in your dreams?
06:13All right. Welcome to the auction.
06:15We're Dan and Lauren Austin with American Auctioneers.
06:18Before you go through these gates, you need to know the rules.
06:20You're gonna go to the unit, remove the lock, open the door,
06:22and give you five minutes to take a look around.
06:24You can't go inside. You can't open any boxes.
06:27And who's ever got the most money in their pocket can notice today.
06:29Are you ready? Yeah! Let's go!
06:31Let's go! Let's go! Let's go!
06:33Let's go! Let's go!
06:35First unit this way!
06:37The first unit, it's just like my dream.
06:39This is too crazy, Danny.
06:42What does this mean?
06:43It means you're crazy. Let's go.
06:44Woohoo!
06:48Five by ten! Come on!
06:51Uh-oh. Grab bag unit.
06:53Woo! Here we go.
06:54You're gonna like the way you look cleaning up this unit.
06:57Yep.
07:02Wow.
07:03Baby stuff. Television. Older one.
07:05Stroller.
07:06You never know what can be in those boxes that are in the back.
07:08I mean, we can take a chance here.
07:10Ooh, shoes.
07:12Baby toys.
07:14Later model TV.
07:15Mystery.
07:16Dirty backpack.
07:17I mean, for cheap it's good.
07:19Just all depends on price.
07:23Big TV.
07:24I remember that little popcorn thing when I was a kid.
07:27But you know what?
07:28That paint bag looked pretty interesting.
07:30Oh, yeah.
07:31Yeah, this looks pretty interesting.
07:33Uh, well, uh, I like how tidy it is.
07:39It is tidy.
07:40It's a big old TV, though.
07:42And it's mysterious, too.
07:44Just see how this one rolls out.
07:46Do you think he knows it's me?
07:47Nah.
07:48If he did, he'd be busting my chops right now.
07:51Who that is?
07:52Which one?
07:53There it is.
07:54It's Lisa.
07:55What's your name, man?
07:56Gary.
07:57Gary, Gary.
07:58Put her there, boss.
08:00Low key undercover, look.
08:02Oh.
08:03I remember my first trying to hide.
08:05Sweating balls out here.
08:07I see you.
08:08Looks like Ernest scared stupid.
08:10Cute.
08:11Cute.
08:12She thinks being some weirdo is going to help her.
08:15It never helped me.
08:16All right.
08:17I've got a nice little mystery unit.
08:18Start a minute.
08:19Yes.
08:20Set them down at number 20 where?
08:21I've got 25 there.
08:22What about 55 where?
08:2355 there and 65 where?
08:24Yeah.
08:2565 there.
08:2675 now.
08:2775 right there.
08:28What about 85?
08:29Ayo.

08:31I've got 95 there.

08:34Hey.

08:40145.
08:41155.
08:42155, 165.
08:43165, 175.
08:44Yeah.
08:45175.
08:46185.
08:47185, 195 and you're out.
08:48I've got 195 going once.
08:49195 going twice.
08:50Last and final call at $195 tonight.
08:52Go back your way.
08:53Kenny.
08:54Do it.
08:55You got it from 185.
08:57Thank you, America.
08:59I tripped.
09:00You won that.
09:01Machaca Cuevo for everybody.
09:02I've got nine boxes to open.
09:04I spend more time in the drive-thru to figure out what I'm going to order.
09:08Now this is what I'm talking about.
09:10Less money.
09:11More value.
09:12We're going to go to the popcorn thing.
09:14It brought back so many childhood years right here.
09:17$10 for this.
09:18It's all about the paint bag.
09:20This is the main reason why I got this here unit.
09:23And what we got in here?
09:25Papers.
09:26Kenny, you got bamboo.
09:27This is no money.
09:29Come on, Kenny.
09:30Look at this.
09:31This is brand new.
09:32This is about $25 right here.
09:35They got some nice little pants right here.
09:39They call them Kulaks.
09:40This is about a $20 box right here.
09:43This is their shoes.
09:45Like Santa Claus used this red carpet.
09:47Oh, there they go.
09:48Oh, my God.
09:49It looked like everybody walked a thousand miles in their shoes.
09:52This is $20 for this here box here.
09:54They spent all the money on tape instead of no good brand name shoes.
09:59Oh, my God.
10:04They spent all the money on tape instead of no good brand name shoes.
10:08Oh, my God.
10:09This is a thongs.
10:11Ding-a-ling.
10:12Ding-a-ling.
10:13Ain't more value.
10:14This is more nasty.
10:15I thought I was going to make a profit.
10:17But thong again.
10:19This is all draws at the top.
10:21No money.
10:22What is it?
10:25A keyboard.
10:26Look at this, bro.

10:44I said this whole box is probably about $20.
10:46Big TV.
10:47They got stick-ems all on here.
10:49Look.
10:50These stick-ems.
10:51This look like the TV the little girl crawled out of.
10:54You know what?
10:58I knew she got paid a lot of money with that bull .
11:01No money, bro.
11:03Please let there be something in here.
11:06Clothes.

11:08About $25 worth of clothes.
11:11Well, America.
11:12Your boy has been struck out in Marino Valley.
11:17And you know what it is?
11:18It's time to go back to the auction.
11:21Because your boy messed up a hundred-something hamburgers.
11:28Come on.
11:29Let's go.
11:30Oh, boy.

11:49That's a nice dresser.
11:51We got some fishing poles.
11:52All right.
11:53That's for, uh, I am quite the sports person.
11:56You do look sporty.

14:31I mean, Gary.
14:33I mean, Steve is Gary,
14:36and Gary is Lisa.
14:38Well, I guess my strategy kind of worked.
14:41I mean, I got it.
14:41I think this is a good locker.
14:43But I wish I didn't have to spend so much on it.
14:47Can't get any respect around here as Lisa or Gary.
14:49All right.
14:57Somebody's taking this home.
14:59Oh, yeah.
15:04I didn't know, though, that you were you until I got here.
15:07You did it.
15:08Not at all.
15:08That's why you kept going,
15:09what are you missing with that stranger?
15:11And I'm like, there's something about him.
15:13You got the accent down.
15:14Yeah.
15:15Somewhere between Texas and Oklahoma.
15:17Yeah.
15:17You know I done grown up where I done grown up.
15:21All right.
15:21What do we have here?
15:23A ceramic pie plate there?
15:25Well, you know what?
15:25It looks like somebody was selling,
15:27because, look, everything has price tags on it.
15:29Yeah.
15:29A lot of the stuff is vintage.
15:30That's a good lock.
15:31There's a lot of potential.
15:32Let's see.
15:32Let's see what it goes for.
15:34This person was obviously reselling vintage holiday stuff.
15:38I mean, it's good just for the volume.
15:40Holidays right around the corner always,
15:42especially for vintage Christmas.
15:43Vintage Christmas, sellable year-round, every day.
15:47Mm.
15:48Well, you got boxes.
15:50I see a lot of work.
15:52I'll have some cheeseburgers afterwards.
15:54Who you telling, Bill?
15:55This has got some vintage, antiquity.
16:00I'm seeing stuff probably going back to the 50s.
16:04Bunch of junk, right?
16:07Bunch of junk no one wants.
16:09Damn.
16:10I know Dusty's going to bet on this one real high.
16:13All right.
16:14Well, we shall see.
16:17All right.
16:17It's 10 by 15, folks.
16:19A lot of boxes.
16:20Hundreds of boxes.
16:20Here we go.
16:21I'm going to get a pay.
16:22And I got big beer.
16:23I'm going to get a little bit of underwear.
16:23Now, now, now, now.
16:24Here we go.
16:252, 3, 3 now.
16:273, 4.
16:27Come on.
16:284, 5, 500, 600.
16:306, 600, 7.
16:31What if it's seven, seven, seven, where?
16:32Seven hundred there, seven and a quarter now.
16:34Seven and a quarter, seven and a half of it, 750.
16:36Come on.
16:36Seven and a half of it, 775.
16:37Eight hundred now, eight hundred where?
16:39Eight hundred there, eight and a quarter where?
16:40Take it.
16:40Eight and a quarter, eight and a half of it, 850.
16:42Eight and a half of it, 875.
16:43850, 875, one, one.
16:45850, 875, one, twice.
16:46875, all in, all through, all through, all in, and I, what?
16:49So let your way, dusty, eight hundred and fifty dollars.
16:51Dusty.
16:53The other buyers must have serious FOMO right now.
16:57Oof, there's a dust storm brewing.
16:59It's gonna result, making a lot of money at the swap meet off of Christmas stuff.
17:10You want this one?
17:11I know it.
17:12Come on, let's go.
17:13Come on now.
17:14Woo!
17:15All right.
17:20Oh my gosh, look at this thing.
17:22Hey, they got a heater in here.
17:24There's a high market for those in Moreno Valley, right?
17:26Shoo.
17:27Man.
17:28Woo!
17:29Crutch is in a heat dish.
17:31I'm not seeing one thing in here I like.
17:34Okay.
17:35Nah.
17:37Okay.
17:38Carpet cleaner.
17:39What's that in there?
17:40The whole box looks like it's brand new.
17:41Oh, I can see it.
17:42I think it's a tool.
17:43Twire instruments.
17:44That sounds like test equipment.
17:46Oh.
17:47Sometimes in a storage business, you make the most money with the stuff that nobody else wants.
17:50Test equipment can be thousands of dollars.
17:52Then take a chance.
17:53Let's do it.
17:54A lot of boxes.
17:55I think somebody was a DJ or something in here because there's a lot of speakers in here.
17:59They got a couple of totes.
18:00Let's see what they're going to go for.
18:02All right.
18:03And if you're ready to go, I'm ready to go.
18:04And here we go.
18:05How much money?

19:05But she won the locker.
19:06You know what that means.

19:09Thank you, everyone.
19:10See you in the office.
19:11Woo-hoo!
19:12Woo-wee.
19:13Okay.

23:04It's okay.
23:05Don't worry about it.
23:06We're gonna make it good.
23:07We're gonna find something nice.
23:08I think this is what we should do.
23:13Your entire gamble on this locker was in this box, right?
23:16Right.
23:17So, Phil, we should go through everything else first.
23:19Okay.
23:20And then this is gonna be your lifeline or your bonus or nothing.
23:23Okay, I like it.
23:24Let's get to it.
23:25Look, these are nice.
23:27I don't know what they are, but they're nice.
23:29That's Yamaha from the 90s.

23:34Okay.
23:35Barbecues right here, those have no value.
23:37The filing cabinet is ripped open, it's no value.
23:39We got our speaker here.
23:40It's got a hole in it, so this is probably just trash.
23:42It is trash.
23:43What do we got here?
23:44Ooh, some Halloween stuff.
23:45At least it's clean.
23:46This is kinda cool.
23:48Everybody loves Halloween.
23:49You know, you probably got 20 bucks with Halloween stuff in there.
23:52What's that thing in the corner?
23:54Hold on.
23:55Oh my goodness.
23:56Oh my gosh.
23:57Oh, it's a kayak.
23:58It's foldable.
23:59Take it outside here for a second.
24:00Okay.
24:01I like that you're helping.
24:02Hey, you know what?
24:03You wanna learn to be a buyer, so this is what I do.
24:05How do you open this?
24:06You gotta be smarter than an average kayak.
24:07Come on.
24:08Okay.
24:09Okay.
24:10Unclick that.
24:11There we go.
24:12It's kinda cool.
24:13How do you open this?
24:14I feel like I'm gonna get hit in the face.
24:15There we go.
24:16There we go.
24:17Oh, this is big.
24:18Oh my goodness.
24:19This is like the SS Titanic called kayaking.
24:20Huge.
24:21Yeah, bring it over there.
24:22Looks like a big whale.
24:23I know somebody that can look at that.
24:24Hey, that's promising, right?
24:25Let's see what else we can find.
24:26Watch out.
24:27Watch out.
24:28Beep beep.
24:29Professional coming through.
24:30Come on.
24:31Step back.
24:32Step back heavy.
24:34Let's pull this out.
24:35Um...
24:36Well, it's beep, so zero.
24:37Let's see.
24:38Is the hot plate clean or dirty?
24:39Well, the box is broken, so...
24:40Pick it up again.
24:41No, but it's dirty.
24:42The box.
24:43You're gonna sell the box itself?
24:44No.
24:45No, but it's dirty.
24:46The box.
24:47You're gonna sell the box itself?
24:48No.
24:49No.
24:50No.
24:51No.
24:52No.
24:53No.
24:54No.
24:55No.
24:56No.
24:57No.
24:58No.
24:59No.
25:00No.
25:01No.
25:02No.
25:03Oh, it's brand new.
25:04That's brand new.
25:05Oh, okay.
25:06Never mind.
25:07How much were you that?
25:08Like ten bucks, right?
25:09Ten bucks.
25:10That scooter right there, it looks like it's completed.
25:11It actually has the key in there.
25:12Oh, yeah.
25:13You're right.
25:14Most likely you'll have to buy a brand-new
25:17battery for that.
25:18I bet you can sell this to somebody for a hundred bucks
25:19that reconditions these things.
25:20High five.
25:22This is money right here.
25:23Ooh.
25:24Doc Martin's nice.
25:25Forty bucks used.
25:26Ooh.
25:27RezMed stuff.
25:28Actually, can we sell this stuff?
25:30You don't want to find the machines, cause that's illegal to sell.
25:32but supplies like this all day long i bet you that's 40. the replacement tank is 60. the hose

26:32Oh my gosh.
26:33You bought it.
26:34But you know you got another 20 bucks in DVDs.
26:36You have the SS Titanic over there.
26:37We have to go get checked out.
26:39You know what?
26:40Let's take this rest of my stuff.
26:41Let's get out of here.
26:42We'll load the rest.
26:43Let's go kayaking.
26:50I'm meeting Charles Phoenix at King Richard's Antique Vintage Center
26:54to show him my vendorama.
26:56I'm hoping it dispenses some serious cash.
26:59I love it.
27:00Very cool piece.
27:01Well, hi, Charles.
27:02I'm Dusty.
27:03How you doing, Dusty?
27:04Dusty or Dustin?
27:05Well, you know.
27:06I'm going to call you Dustin.
27:07I like it.
27:08It's very on point for you.
27:10Speaking of on point ballpoint pens,
27:12this is an awesome vending machine.
27:14First of all, you know what I really love about it?
27:16The way the word says vendorama.
27:18I mean, anything with an o-rama, that actually adds value to this.
27:22And also the fact that it's kind of written
27:24in your favorite lesbian aunt's handwriting.
27:26We love that.
27:27So yeah, it's a ballpoint pen vending machine.
27:30The first thing that draws me to it is the color.
27:32And look how many colors there are.
27:34It looks like Easter in there.
27:36It's a classic mid-century, 50s, early 60s.
27:40Great quality.
27:41It's a little wood cabinet.
27:42I can absolutely guarantee you this is a rare vending machine to find.
27:46I've never seen it.
27:47Have you?
27:48No, this is the first time.
27:49Yeah, I've never seen this before.
27:50Definitely exciting.
27:51So basically at this point, this is a piece of art,
27:53as well as a cool collectible.
27:55And it's got a good crossover too, right?
27:57I could sell it to a pen collector, an advertising collector,
28:01a mid-century decorator.
28:02You're right.
28:03A wide range of different customers, no?
28:04It does.
28:05Good point.
28:06Let's see if it works.
28:07There's a dime right here, actually.
28:08Oh, careful.
28:09Don't grab the mouse poop.
28:10Oh, what?
28:11Mouse poop?
28:12Yeah.
28:13I don't want any mouse poop.
28:14That's the full package.
28:15Okay, you get it all here.
28:16Here goes the diamond.
28:17Dime.
28:18Oh, look at it.
28:19It turns and everything.
28:20Oh, there is one that came out.
28:22Oh, you got the two-for-one.
28:23There is two.
28:24Oops.
28:25A pink and a red, and a pink and a green.
28:28These colors just scream 1950s kitchens.
28:32There's a certain quality about this plastic.
28:34It has a nice shine to it.
28:35It feels good.
28:36It looks good.
28:37All these pins actually really add to the value of it.
28:40And it works.
28:41And it works, right.
28:42But the thing is, it really needs a good detail to bring out the real value.
28:47This is very, very, very clean-effable.
28:50Any great invention ends with O-Rama.
28:53I know.
28:54But there's one O-Rama that I'm the most worried about.
28:57What?
28:58I want to know about the revenue-O-Rama.
29:00And I'm not trying to print dimes here, Charles, so cut straight to the chase.
29:03Okay.
29:04This Vend-O-Rama, I would say not a penny less than 750.
29:12Whoa.
29:13I would say you scored.
29:14Tasty.
29:15Anything with O-Rama behind it is like, it just kind of gives the human spirit a depth
29:20of importance and thrill.
29:22It doesn't get more classic than that.
29:29Whew.
29:30Here we go.
29:31I paid $700 for this locker.
29:35I hope Gary knew what he was doing.
29:38Okay.
29:39Well, shoot, I didn't even notice we got golf clubs in here.
29:43I'm no Cougar Woods, but I bet these are worth $100.
29:46Ooh, this looks like something Gary would sport, actually.
29:5080s era jean jacket, $30.
29:53Ooh.
29:54That's a $10 raincoat.
29:56Look at that.
29:57A little airplane stained glass.
30:00That's a $40 thing.
30:02Okay.
30:03We got a Humminbird stained glass.
30:05I would say that's a $30 piece.
30:07You know, these are great.
30:08You know, you can't have too many of these wet, dry backs.
30:10Fifteen bucks.
30:13Why do they make things so hard to get into these days?
30:16Ooh, that's a big old level.
30:18You put it up against something to make sure it's on straight.
30:23You got to look at the juice in the tubes.
30:25What you're going to want is a nice little bubble.
30:29That's a $20 item.
30:33Yeah, boring old tools.
30:35Oh, we got twins.
30:37More tools.
30:4020 bucks for the pair.
30:42We got some portable lights for your construction zone or your OnlyFans, whatever.
30:4920 bucks.
30:50Bait box.
30:51Ooh, a lot of hooks.
30:52If I just sell this whole lot together with the box, 50 bucks.
30:56We got an old receiver.
30:58I know this is a good brand.
31:0050 bucks.
31:01Oh, it's in good shape.
31:03Clean it up with its lovely patina.
31:06And I would sell this for 45 bucks.
31:08What else we got in here?
31:09Just a bunch of tools.
31:11That staple gun's cool.
31:12That's old.
31:13Look at that.
31:1430 bucks for those two crates.
31:16We got some clothings.
31:18Damn, look at that Blue Angels t-shirt.
31:20That is so cool.
31:21This badass vintage t-shirt is actually 50 bucks.
31:26Ooh, cool.
31:27What's this?
31:28Vintage military blouse.
31:30Matching vintage military pants.
31:32$75.
31:35Yes.
31:36A box of cassettes.
31:3880 bucks.
31:41Okay.
31:42Ooh, this looks like a neat old box.
31:44Ooh.
31:46Cool old knickknacks.
31:47Look at that sweet Honda belt buckle.
31:48I think Gary might like that for sure.
31:49Yeah, we just got an assortment of grandpa, like, kind of cool, funky grandpa stuff in here.
32:06This is a 1943 silver dollar.
32:09I'm going to say this is a $75 box, actually, all said and done.
32:13Here's some more old collectible coins.
32:16There's a series of them, so I'm going to say these are $75.
32:19Ooh, a bin.
32:20Okay, what do we got here?
32:22Oh, this looks like some kind of robot piece.
32:25Damn.
32:26It's got gears on it and just dropped down from outer space.
32:30Neither Lisa nor Gary has any clue what this is.
32:33It's heavy as hell and, heck, I'd say this looks like a key component to a time machine.
32:39I think I'm going to try and find some sort of metal expert who can give me more insight
32:44onto this strange, mysterious object.
32:48These are prospect dishes.
32:50$25.
32:51We got a bunch of vintage fishing poles.
32:54Nine fishing poles at $10 each for the poles.
32:57That'll be $90.
32:58And then this is a nice deep sea reel.
33:01Got another one of those over here, $50 each.
33:03So that's another $100.
33:05What's this?
33:06Feels like an empty box, but let's just see.
33:10Oh.
33:11Huh.
33:12Altitude.
33:13The box says Aerosaur International.
33:19It does have a picture of a hot air balloon on it.
33:22Wait a minute.
33:23Hang on.
33:24I just got struck by a lightning of an idea.
33:26That might be a hot air balloon hot maker.
33:32And then this thing tells you how far you're going to fall.
33:35You know what?
33:36I'll be honest.
33:37I'm afraid of heights.
33:38But I am not afraid of high profits.
33:40So I'm going to find somebody who knows a thing or two about a hot air balloon.
33:45Guess I'm going to start loading up.
33:49All right.
33:50Here we go.
33:51Come on, Gary.
33:52That's what involves out here.
33:53Kadyana and I are having a beach day.
33:54Watch out for the rocks.
33:55It's okay.
33:56I got the rocks.
33:57I think.
33:58Watch out for the rocks.
33:59I got it.
34:00I got it.
34:01I got it.
34:02We're meeting the owner of Laguna Ethos, Justin Berenson.
34:03We are hoping that this kayak turns our beach day into a payday.
34:05Justin?
34:06Hey, Renee.
34:07What's happening?
34:08What's up, guys?
34:09I got a kayak.
34:10I got a kayak.
34:11I got a kayak.
34:12Perfect.
34:13Hey.
34:14Nice.
34:15Hey.
34:16Renee.
34:17Justin.
34:18Nice to meet you.
34:19Nice to meet you.
34:20Nice.
34:21I haven't seen one of these in a while.
34:22Is that good or bad?
34:23No, this is a great kayak.
34:24A lot of people want this mostly because it's one of the only folding kayaks that you can
34:28get that's actually high quality.
34:29It's super portable.
34:30It's a great kayak.
34:31It's a great kayak.
34:32It's a great kayak.
34:33It's a great kayak.
34:34It's a great kayak.
34:35It's a great kayak.
34:36It's a great kayak.
34:37It's a great kayak.
34:38It's super portable.
34:39You can bring it anywhere.
34:40You don't have to carry an 80-pound kayak.
34:42These are great.
34:43You trust a folding kayak?
34:44Oh, yeah.
34:45The oru kayaks are sturdy.
34:47Really?
34:48Yeah.
34:49It seems like it's made out of the same stuff I put my taxes in.
34:51No, a little more sturdy than that.
34:54Really?
34:55Yeah.
34:56The first thing you want to do is pull up this.
34:59There we go.
35:00We got her.
35:01How many people can this hold up to, do you think?
35:03One.
35:04One?
35:05Oh, my goodness.
35:06How big of a people?
35:07Weight limits about 280 pounds.
35:08Good.
35:09I don't got to go.
35:10All right.
35:11I think I have this side pretty well.
35:12You guys are doing a good job.
35:13Hey, thanks, Renee.
35:15You're welcome.
35:16Appreciate the feedback.
35:17Honestly, it kind of looks like a origami.
35:19It really does.
35:20So is that supposed to be the seat there, or?
35:23So this is actually the floorboard.
35:25It's going to give the kayak a lot more stability once it's all tightened up.
35:29But your seat is this little guy, which will go right here and right here.
35:35Don't worry.
35:36It's going to make sense once it's all put together.
35:37Famous last words.
35:38Renee, you really don't have enough faith, man.
35:40No, I'm just like a realist.
35:42The important question is how are we looking on shark attacks here?
35:45The rule of thumb with sharks is if you put your finger in the water and it tastes salty,
35:49they're sharks.
35:50How many have you encountered?
35:51Not that many.
35:52How many is not that many?
35:54Maybe 10.
35:55Okay, well, I'm at zero, so that's a lot.
35:58All right, we're going to hold this rail down.
36:00Okay.
36:01It's going to lock into these little grooves, which help keep everything locked into place
36:06nice and secure.
36:07Ta-da!
36:08There's all these little straps.
36:09It's so perfectly put together.
36:11I love this thing.
36:12So how does it look condition-wise?
36:14There's a couple minor scuffs, but structurally it looks great.
36:17All the seals are intact, but there's only one way to truly find out, which is giving
36:23it a little test.
36:24What do you say we take it for a spin?
36:26All right, do your thing, girl.
36:27All right.
36:28All right, before we head out, we're dealing with mother nature here, so we're going to
36:33take her seriously.
36:34We're going to go down to the water's edge.
36:36Here we go.
36:37Here we go.
36:38Teamwork.
36:39Bye!
36:40Next time, can't we just go to like a kayak store or something?
36:43It just got real.
36:44I don't see any leaks here.
36:45That looks good.
36:46Oh, my goodness.
36:48Next time, can't we just go to like a kayak store or something?
36:50It just got real.
36:51I don't see any leaks here.
36:52That looks good.
36:53Oh, my goodness.
36:54Shark!
36:55Woo!
36:56Yay!
36:57Beautiful ocean.
36:58Looks like it's working.
36:59Looking good.
37:00Looking good.
37:01Eye calls are the ocean!
37:02Woo!
37:03Woo!
37:04No leaks!
37:05Take me home, Ocean.
37:06Take me home.
37:07Take me home.
37:08She's just going to make it back.
37:09It's good.
37:10Good for business.
37:11Woo!
37:12This thing works great.
37:13Nice work.
37:14Woo!
37:15Okay.
37:16This is exhausting work.
37:17How was it?
37:18That was awesome.
37:19You did so good.
37:21You did so good.
37:23You made it look easy.
37:24I loved it.
37:25It didn't sink.
37:26It didn't break.
37:27Any sharks?
37:28No sharks.
37:29I survived.
37:30There you go.
37:31It's a seaworthy kayak.
37:32How much is it worth?
37:33Great condition.
37:34Super seaworthy.
37:35I'm actually surprised how well it did out there.
37:37So.
37:38Easily $1,200.
37:39Hey, hey, hey.
37:40Boom.
37:41All right.
37:42Let's fold it up.
37:43Let's fold it up.
37:44Let's fold it up.
37:45Let's fold it up.
37:46Let's fold it up.
37:47Okay.
37:48Let's fold it up.
37:49Okay.
37:50Okay.
37:51Okay.
37:52Okay.
37:53Okay.
37:54Okay.
37:55Okay.
37:56That's exhausting work.
37:57How was it?
37:58That was awesome.
37:59You did so good.
38:01All right.
38:02Let's fold it up.
38:03Now's your time to shine.
38:04You're gonna unfold it, right?
38:05Yeah.
38:06How hard could it be?
38:07You got this.
38:08Clip.
38:09Clip.
38:10Clip.
38:11Clip.
38:12Clip.
38:13Clip.
38:14Hold on.
38:15Did that guy just run away with my daughter?
38:18Woo!
38:19Yeah!
38:28I tracked down a badass hot air balloon pilot.
38:30Cheryl Reichert.
38:31I want to find out what this thing is worth.
38:33And honestly, what it is.
38:35Because I'm really tired of calling it a hot maker.
38:38Hello?
38:39Oh, hi.
38:40Hi, are you Cheryl?
38:41I am.
38:42Nice to meet you.
38:43I'm Lisa.
38:44Nice to meet you, Lisa.
38:45I got some stuff.
38:46What do you have there?
38:47Well, that's what I'm hoping you can tell me.
38:49I don't know what the heck this is.
38:51Um, this is actually a hot air balloon burner.
38:54Do you know much about hot air balloons?
38:56I know absolutely nothing.
38:59I mean, I know that there's baskets involved.
39:02So, it is the oldest form of flight.
39:04And they used to build wood piles and shoot heat up into a paper bag, basically.
39:09Well, now we have fabric and we have burners.
39:12Okay.
39:13And this is the part that you connect to the propane tank.
39:15It has a valve that opens and lets the propane in.
39:19Oh.
39:20And there's a pilot light, like your furnace, and the propane shoots up into the envelope.
39:24And that's how we heat the air to give the balloon lift.
39:27So, this is a burner.
39:28Except you happen to have a really old burner here.
39:30Nothing wrong with that, right?
39:32The good news is it's a cool burner.
39:34And it's clean.
39:35The bad news is it goes to a very old system.
39:39Okay.
39:40This one is an Aerostar.
39:41And it goes to a basket that is no longer made.
39:44These burners are no longer made.
39:46So, that can be good when someone is hunting for it and doesn't have one.
39:50Okay.
39:51But it can be bad when you can buy parts for it.
39:53So, anyone with this burner, if it fails, they're probably going to be able to find the parts and fix their own.
39:58I see.
39:59Okay.
40:00I'm just taking in what I'm seeing here.
40:02These baskets look really old-timey.
40:05So, here's one of your older Aerostar baskets.
40:07Oh, look at this beauty.
40:08This one was made back in the 50s.
40:09This stuff lasts a really long time.
40:11Yeah.
40:12The 80s for this one.
40:13And here's a system that was built in this century.
40:15You can see the designs are still basically the same.
40:17They use wicker because it's such a light material and you need something super light and super strong.
40:22So, you have a wicker basket.
40:23You put a propane torch in the middle of it.
40:26Light it up.
40:27What could possibly go wrong?
40:28What could possibly go wrong?
40:29Okay.
40:30Moving on.
40:31There's more.
40:32Oh, we've got an old ball instrument.
40:35This is the cable that runs up into the envelope of the balloon.
40:40And you can use this instrument to read the temperature.
40:42Oh.
40:43Wow.
40:44That's fancy.
40:45So, it is working, which is pretty awesome.
40:47It reads altitude fabulously.
40:49It is also pretty old.
40:50That's all right.
40:51It's been replaced by new tech, which is digital.
40:54Hmm.
40:55Okay, Cheryl.
40:56Is this all hot air?
40:57Or are you going to elevate my profits?
40:59Well, I'll tell you what.
41:01For the right buyer, you find the right guy that's looking for this particular instrument.
41:05The journeyman.
41:06Um.
41:09So, combination, 300.
41:12Great.
41:13That totally floats my basket, Cheryl.
41:15Glad to hear it.
41:16Congratulations.
41:17My happiness is your happiness.
41:19Thank you, Cheryl.
41:20And I'm almost convinced that I would be open to getting into a hot air balloon basket.
41:26Excellent.
41:27Renane has, actually, no.
41:31Tatiana Nezota paddled off with $1,700.
41:36Dusty Richo-rama turned his pens into 1,600 Benjamins.
41:42Lisa slash Gary Delarios went from burner to earner, banking $600.
41:49While Kenny Crosley couldn't rally in Mo Valley.
41:54Most ballooning is done in very calm conditions.
41:57But I have seen hot air balloon baskets with fiberglass in the bottom so that you could look out the bottom.
42:03It's terrifying to me.
42:04Who wants to do that?
42:05Sweet.
42:06Terrifying to you, but you're a pilot.
42:07I am.
42:08Are you afraid of heights?
42:09I am.
42:10Actually, no.
42:11Fear of falling.
42:12So when I go to the edge of things, what's interesting, I have no problem getting up in a hot air balloon.
42:16I've always considered myself afraid of heights, but maybe I'm just afraid of falling.
42:20Well, I would love to take you flying.
42:22Ooh.
42:23Woo!
42:24Wow.
42:25Feel the burn.
42:27Lisa, I told you I'd get you up here.
42:30Oh, my God.
42:31You know what?
42:32This really isn't so bad, Cheryl.
42:33I think I've overcome my fear.
42:35Cheryl, this is great.
42:40Thank you for everything.
42:42Oh, wow.
42:43Look, I think I can see my car.
42:45There's the soup.
42:47That's my episode.
42:48Alright.
42:49I'm sure again.
42:50We'll see you there in the next few seconds on YouTube.
