Sheffield Steelers' defenceman Brien Diffley talks about his 'great connection' with former team-mate and fellow D-man, Colton Saucerman - who has joined Elite League rivals Coventry Blaze for the 2025-26 season.
00:00Yeah, of course. Yeah, I mean, he was a big part of my time, obviously, in Sheffield. I came over kind of, you know, a little bit, I guess, under the radar. And, you know, we had such high impact imports signed for the first year that I was there.
00:19And, you know, Foxy kind of just put me with sauce right from the start. And we kind of established a great connection, obviously, on and off the ice. He's a great friend of mine. And he's been very, very helpful to me in the development of, you know, my career as a player and also becoming a better person in front.
00:44So it's a tough, tough loss for, obviously, the team and me personally. But, yeah, like you said, just wish him nothing but the best. And, you know, he's becoming a father soon as well. So just really, really happy for him in that regard, too.
01:00That'd be interesting coming up against him for a change, I guess.
01:03It will be. It'll be different to see him in the Coventry blue. But, yeah, just hoping for the best for him.
