Check out the Gift Update Overview Trailer for Windblown, an early access action roguelike developed by Motion Twin. The new Gift Update brings players a huge overhaul to the Gift system, adjusting and fine-tuning various build-crafting options to create more synergies and options for both solo and multiplayer Leapers. Players can also enjoy a host of improvements and refinements across the game, including two new weapons with the Impactone and the Jar. The Gift Update is available now in Early Access for PC

00:00Hey all, and welcome to the Windblown Gift Update video.

00:04In this update, the team have been hard at work on the in-game Gift System, the feature

00:08responsible for all of the insane builds you create during a run.

00:12We've added 17 new Gifts, along with 16 new Hexes, increasing build diversity in player

00:17choice.

00:18These additions introduce some awesome new effects, like Corrosion and Overwhelm, while

00:22ensuring everything scales smoothly through your runs and even into Endless mode.

00:27We've also overhauled all of the existing Gifts too, applying tweaks, changes or reworking

00:31some of them altogether.

00:33Players told us that Hexes weren't appealing enough to take, aside from some standouts.

00:37Because of this, we've reworked these risk vs reward choices to make them more beneficial

00:41to your runs.

00:42Plus, you'll find that Hexes now have their own slot in your inventory, meaning they no

00:47longer share capacity with their non-Hexed counterparts.

00:51The additions don't end there though.

00:53You'll also find two brand new weapons making their way into the Vortex.

00:57The Impactone might look familiar to those of you who ventured into the Sanctuary Biome.

01:01This long-reaching weapon may attack slowly, but its Ultra Attack unleashes two sweeping

01:05beams of energy, eviscerating anything caught in their way.

01:09The Jar lets you use your shells as ammunition, firing a series of shots that get stronger the

01:13further into the chain you get.

01:16Its Ultra Attack also fires a larger shell that explodes on impact, splitting into smaller

01:20projectiles multiple times.

01:22Finally, we've added important objects to player inventories, meaning you can now see

01:27what items you've collected during your adventures in Windblow.
