00:00Good morning. Your thoughts on the passing of the restrictions to our kids last night and how do you think the House will take it up to you? Do you think it's not pulled out on?
00:09Oh, I'm sure they'll pass it.
00:11You have no, there are some holdouts it seems.
00:13Oh, yeah, there always are. But I think they'll pass it. The President wants them to pass.
00:17Do you have any concerns about funding for things such as NPR and PBS not being accessible by people in your state?
00:25I was all for cutting those. I wish that we could have cut more. I would have liked to have cut a $5 billion Green New Deal loan that is going to a private corporation in my state that's taking farmers' land.
00:40So I actually introduced an amendment to do that. But sadly, you can't make a rescission bill bigger on the floor.
00:46And so the Mille Bove kind of conversation today, are you hearing from any other Republicans?
00:53I know there's been some consternation over his nomination here. Do you think he'll pass on the floor, too?
01:01Oh, yeah, I think so. I think so.
01:02Do you have any concerns about the letter that was written suggesting that he should not be on the federal bench?
01:08The one from weeks ago?
01:10Yeah, there was like 300 or so of former federal judges and prosecutors.
01:14Oh, yeah. I mean, this seems to me like a classic sort of leftist technique. I mean, people write letters all the time. So it'll be – he'll pass.
01:23There's been a continued push over the past couple of days that ramped up yesterday about releasing the Epstein files. I know you're a proponent of that.
01:30Yeah.
01:30Are you still with all the developments?
01:33Yeah. Oh, yeah. I think the best thing to do here is transparency. So the president said – I think not yesterday but the day before. My days are running together at this point.
01:43I think the day before he said, you know, that Bondi should release whatever that she thinks is credible. That's good advice. I mean, I think that's exactly what she should do and DOJ should do.
01:52So that would, I think, put a lot of this to rest. Excuse me. All right. What else can I tell you? I'm choking on my own words.
01:59What do you think of his rhetoric ago yesterday where he pretty much said, I don't want the support of the – I still want Epstein's files to be released in there?
02:07The president?
02:08Yeah.
02:09Well, you know, listen. I mean, he's – I've been in this situation where you get asked the same question like 50 times in a row. Not that you guys would ever do that to me.
02:15But, you know, I mean, I'm sure he's irked about having to talk about it. But I thought that the substance of it, what he said and has been saying now for the last couple of days, like, yeah, look, if there's credible information, it should be released.
02:27I think that's right. I mean, I would release everything possible. I realize that there are still, I think, some prosecutions. I think Maxwell has an appeal pending, so maybe there's documents in those cases that are still sealed that as a prosecutor you can't release.
02:40But with those caveats, like, why not release all of it? I mean, that's what I would urge anything the Justice Department is.
02:46I mean, he called them – hey, he called them Republicans foolish who are stupid. He didn't call these guys stupid. Republicans who are calling for this information.
02:55Well, no. It wasn't people who are calling for the information. It was the fixation on it, people who, you know, are all wrapped up in it.
03:01I mean, listen, I just think at the end of the day, what he said to Bondi, that she ought to release whatever she thinks is credible, that's good advice.
03:09But are you guys being foolish in following a Democratic hoax, like he's saying?
03:13No, I don't think that's what he said, Mono. I mean, he's talking about people – no, he's talking about online influencers who, you know, are all worked up.
03:21I have all of these various conspiracies about inside the Department of Justice, all this stuff.
03:25Listen, I just – all that could be laid to the rest of it. Just release the documents.
03:29Just do what he said, which is that Bondi ought to release whatever she thinks is credible.
03:33I don't think this is that complicated.
03:35Do you think he's done permanent damage with the base here, if he doesn't – especially if he does not release this?
03:40I don't know. Well, it's not his call. I mean, just to be clear on this, I mean, this is a prosecutorial call because they're the ones who prosecuted the case.
03:49Case is – I mean, I imagine there's still ongoing investigations, so at least I hope so.
03:53But listen, I think everything that can be released, consistent with the prosecution, should be released.
03:58Do you agree with Trump's, you know, assertion that the Democrats or Biden administration could have changed the documents or altered them over the past four years?
04:08Well, it's always possible to alter stuff. I mean, sure.
04:10But this is – all this is – again, I don't think this is terribly complicated.
04:14I mean, I just think that he's in the right position, his counsel to Bondi, to release whatever she thinks is credible and whatever she can, consistent with prosecutions.
04:23She should do that. I don't think there's much more to it than that.
04:25I think that's good advice. I think transparency is a good idea.
04:27Yeah. But politically, you don't – how big of a problem is this for him politically?
04:31Oh, I don't know, Manu. I mean, I don't know how to assess the politics of it. I just think on the merits of it.
04:36I mean, I just say this as a former prosecutor. You know what I mean? I just – I'm a big believer in transparency.
04:40And I think also just for us as a country, it's an important way to get closure.
04:45This is a bad guy, and what he did was bad. And it was also pretty extensive. It involved a lot of people.
04:51And so I just think in order to honor the victims, in order to get some closure on this, whatever can be released should be released.
04:59I don't think it's more complicated than that, but I think that's the right call.
05:03Again, it's what he said the other day. I think that's the right call.
05:07All right.
05:07What are your reactions in firing a Comey's daughter?
05:10I don't know about that. Like, I don't know what – I read that last night.
05:13But I don't have any – I don't know anything more than what's been reported, which isn't much.
05:18I guess she worked on the Epstein case and the recent – the Diddy case that didn't go well.
05:25So I don't know. Maybe that, you know – those are cases that haven't gone well recently.
05:30But I have no insight on that. I just – I don't know. Let me know that you're here.
