Donald Trump is criticizing his predecessor's choice of Federal Reserve chairman — though he seems to have forgotten one important detail. During a recent Oval Office meeting, the president lamented the appointment of Jerome Powell to lead the United States' central bank, wrongfully pinning the decision on Joe Biden.

00:00He's a terrible Fed chair.
00:02I was surprised he was appointed.
00:04I was surprised, frankly, that Biden put him in
00:07and extended him, but they did.
00:11Mr. President, Jerome Powell, do you have plans,
00:14or if you're back, considering firing Jerome Powell?
00:18What's your justification, if you're thinking about this,
00:21to do this?
00:21He's always been too late.
00:23Hence his nickname, Too Late.
00:26He should have cut interest rates a long time ago.
00:29Europe has cut him 10 times in the short period of time,
00:31and we cut him none.
00:34The only time he cut him was just before the election
00:36to try and help Kamala or Biden,
00:39whoever the hell it was, because nobody really knew.
00:43Obviously, that didn't work.
00:44But he tried to cut him for the Democrats, Kamala.
00:48And how did that work out?
00:51You'll tell me.
00:52It didn't work out too well, did it?
00:53But he's, he's, I think he does a terrible job.
00:57He's costing us a lot of money and we fight through it.
01:00It's, it's almost, the country has become so successful
01:03that it doesn't have a big impact.
01:05But it does hurt people wanting to get a mortgage.
01:10People want to buy a house.
01:11He's a terrible, he's a terrible Fed chair.
01:14I was surprised he was appointed.
01:16I was surprised, frankly, that Biden put him in and extended him.
01:21But, uh, they did.
01:24So, no, we're not planning on doing anything.
01:27We're very concerned.
