Torrential rains unleashed catastrophic flooding in La Martinica, Zapopan, Jalisco on the night of July 15, 2025, killing a 3-month-old infant and injuring 12 others. Officials say it’s the worst urban flood in the area in 12 years. Rainfall overwhelmed canals, triggering flash floods with waters rising over 13 feet deep. Streets, homes, and businesses were submerged, and 144 houses reported damage. A structural fence collapse led to the infant’s death, while several children sustained serious trauma. Vehicles were overturned, and trees uprooted across Zapopan.
