Mangiamo at The Squirrel pub in Bispham has launched a lovely new mediterrean menu

00:08Recently reopened after an extensive refurbishment, this popular pub on Bispen Road is now open

00:13and it's brought a whole new Mediterranean twist to this local favourite.

00:17Now under new ownership, the place is a family run Italian inspired pub restaurant

00:21that's perfect for everything from chilled lunches to evening drinks.

00:25You'll find a brand new beer garden, a kids zone, a games room, live sport on screen and quiz nights and live music on the weekends.

00:33When I visited, I was greeted by the lovely owner Harry and his super welcoming team.

00:39They kindly set me up outside the gorgeous new beer garden, the ideal spot for a sunny bite and a cold drink.

00:45I went for the mix and match small plates deal, four for the price of three and honestly each one was a standout.

00:51The calamari was golden and crisp with just the right amount of chew, served with a punchy garlic aglioli and a wedge of lemon.

00:58The smoked salmon was silky and rich and paired with peppery rocket, juicy watermelon and thick cut bread and butter.

01:04The mozzarella boccacini was soft and creamy, served with cherry tomatoes and a drizzle of basil oil, light, fresh and full of colour.

01:12The arancini were perfectly crisp outside with a warm, cheesy, pea-filled centre and a rich tomato and basil sauce.
