00:00Jake is on the first ever solo mission to outer space on the KK-5X spaceship.
00:05Everything is ready for takeoff.
00:07Three, two, one.
00:10And there he goes!
00:12He's cruising in space when, uh-oh, the rocket engine starts to break down.
00:17Fortunately, Jake is a very good pilot, so he manages to dock the spaceship on the moon.
00:23As soon as he lands, he tries to call NASA's Earth base,
00:26but the communication systems are all broken.
00:30That's when he realizes that he's stuck on the moon and has no way of letting people know about it.
00:36Jake opens the emergency kit, and that's when he has a surreal idea.
00:41He decides to make a bonfire on the moon's surface using the special long-lasting wood NASA sent him.
00:48His hope is that people on Earth will see that he needs help, but his plan doesn't work out.
00:53Days go by, and no one answers his distress signal.
00:57Take a look at the image.
00:58Can you figure out why people on Earth keep ignoring Jake's cry for help?
01:13That's simple!
01:14Because Earthlings can only see one side of the moon.
01:17And unfortunately, Jake landed on the dark side of our satellite, so no one can see him.
01:22Poor Jake.
01:23The crew on board the SST-9 space shuttle is made up of seven people.
01:30After a long day of work, they're having an argument about which space body a person can jump the highest on.
01:36Each astronaut has their own guess, so they decide to test it out.
01:40Each person takes their own space vehicle and flies to the place of their choice.
01:44Billy flies to Mercury.
01:47Emily flies to Venus.
01:48Richard goes to Saturn.
01:50Becca goes to Europa.
01:52Ivan goes to Mars.
01:53Sasha goes to our Earth's moon.
01:55And Brian goes to Pluto.
01:57Can you guess which person will jump the highest?
02:00The key to answering this riddle is gravity.
02:12The spatial body with the smallest gravity will allow the astronaut to jump the highest.
02:18Oh, and one more thing.
02:20The planet needs to have a surface.
02:22Otherwise, no jumping will be possible.
02:24So Brian will win the belt.
02:25Pluto has the smallest gravity out of all the spatial bodies involved.
02:31It's a typical morning in a colony on Mars.
02:34Astronauts are at their workstation trying to figure out the exact date when water existed in liquid form on Mars.
02:41The chief of the mission, Dr. Buggers, opens a refrigerating chamber to get an important sample when he notices that a sample is gone.
02:49It was here two hours ago.
02:51How could it have disappeared?
02:52He shouts.
02:53Nobody has entered or left the lab in the last two hours, so it must have been one of the people inside the lab that did it.
03:01Dr. Buggers decides to investigate the case himself.
03:04Cassie says that she has spent the last two hours next to the microscope trying to figure out the genetic pattern of the sample they found last week.
03:13Rosie claims that she spent the last few hours in the napping room because she pulled an all-nighter last night.
03:19Cam says he's been doing repair work on the Freedom Lander that broke down the previous week.
03:25He's been trying to fix the vehicle's motor.
03:28After interviewing them all, Dr. Buggers realizes who took the samples.
03:32Can you figure it out too?
03:33It was Cam.
03:45He said he'd spent the entire morning fixing a vehicle, but take a look at his hands.
03:51His hands should be dirty, but they're super clean.
03:54There's no way he had time to wash all that grease off.
03:58Amy spent months preparing for a space trip that was supposed to take her outside of the solar system.
04:05She was the first human ever to attempt this feat.
04:09Amazingly, she managed to leave the solar system and land on an unidentified planet in an unknown galaxy.
04:15She began to explore the city and its citizens.
04:19Locals were smiling and taking pictures of her.
04:22Suddenly, she felt the need to go to the restroom.
04:24She saw two doors supposedly leading to the ladies' and gentlemen's bathrooms and got confused.
04:30She didn't speak the local language and couldn't ask which door was for men and which was for women.
04:36Thankfully, she met a local guide, Beau, who could understand English.
04:41However, he could only speak his native language.
04:44What two questions should Amy ask to figure out the right door?
04:54She should point at one of the doors and ask,
05:01Is this the women's restroom?
05:03Then, she needs to remember Beau's reply and ask,
05:06Am I a woman?
05:08If Beau says the same word, the restroom Amy is pointing at must be for women.
05:13And if Beau says a different word, the restroom is for men.
05:16It's been 1,000 days since John left Earth and headed for Neptune.
05:21He still has a few months left before getting there,
05:24but he's just found out that he's running out of water.
05:28The next planet he's going to pass by is Jupiter.
05:32John opens his navigation system and checks which space body he can land on to try to refill his water supply.
05:39Take a look at John's options.
05:40Can you tell where he should stop to get some water?
05:46Let's see.
05:55The first stop that the navigation system shows John is Callisto.
05:59But there's no water there.
06:01The same goes for Amalthea.
06:03So, John's best option is to stop on Europa.
06:07Scientists have already confirmed there's liquid water there.
06:10Julia and Zach are the only crew members currently living at a space station on Saturn.
06:16Every morning, they get into different kinds of lively discussions.
06:20This morning, they're discussing which planet would be hotter to live on, Mercury or Venus.
06:26Julia says it's hotter to live on Mercury since it's closer to the Sun.
06:30But Zach says it would be hotter to live on Venus because there are constant gas bursts in its atmosphere,
06:37not to mention tons of active volcanoes.
06:39Can you tell which one of them is correct?
06:53As much as this may come as a surprise, Zach is right.
06:57Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system.
07:00Venus' atmosphere traps heat inside, so temperatures get absurdly high there.
07:05Barnaby is a solo space ranger.
07:09He travels the universe in his own spaceship with no company other than his pet elephant.
07:14He wants to settle down for a while and wait while his elephant buddy grows older so that he can continue traveling.
07:21His friend needs to shower once a week, so Barnaby uses the lack of gravity to help him do that.
07:27He opens his spaceship's navigation system, and three different planets pop up – Saturn, Mars, and Jupiter.
07:35Can you help Barnaby choose the best planet to raise his pet elephant?
07:49He should pick the planet where gravity isn't too strong, right?
07:53So, he should pick Mars.
07:55This way, he'll have no trouble giving his elephant a proper bath.
08:00That's it for today.
